Go Figure! Author Of ‘How To Murder Your Husband’ Charged With Murdering Her Husband

Woman Who Wrote About Killing A Spouse Charged In Husband’s Death An Oregon novelist who once penned an essay titled “How To Murder Your Husband” has been arrested for—surprise—killing her husband. Somehow, her in-laws are “in shock” over the whole ordeal, but clearly, everyone should’ve seen this coming . Nancy Crampton Brophy was taken into custody on Sept. 5 for murder and unlawful use of a weapon in the death of her spouse, Daniel Brophy , the Washington Post states. She was reportedly arraigned the following day and ordered jail without bail. She has not entered a plea at this time. According to the site, the 68-year-old author had a ton of hypothetical instructions for readers when it came to knocking off a spouse: “She advised against hiring a hit man to do the dirty work — ‘an amazing number of hit men rat you out to the police’ — and against hiring a lover. ‘Never a good idea.’ Poison was not advised either, because it’s traceable. ‘Who wants to hang out with a sick husband?’ she wrote.” She also wrote a book about a woman who spent every day fantasizing about killing her husband and another, in which the wife escaped her abusive husband by faking her death. Meet Brophy in the clip up top.

My Sister’s Keeper? When A Sibling And A Spouse Get Into A Physical Fight, Do You Take A Side Or Stay Neutral?

Should you ride for your spouse or stand by your sibling? What’s The Right Thing To Do When Your Spouse And Sibling Are Fighting? Unless you’ve taken a vacation into outer space, you’ve heard about the now-infamous altercation between songstress Solange Knowles and her brother-in-law Jay Z that was caught on an elevator surveillance camera as Soloange, Jay Z, Beyonce, and the family bodyguard Julius were headed home from last week’s Met Gala after party. While hundreds of conspiracy theories continue to emerge regarding what could have possibly caused sissy-poo Solo to go full Power Ranger on Hov in a cramped elevator, the other theories circulating question Beyonce’s actions as the whole thing went down. Did she do the right thing by doing the bare minimum and pretty much staying out of the brief but brutal confrontation? Some say the motto should be “family over everything” no matter what, while others say that Mrs. Carter should have done more to get he r sister in check, thus siding with her husband. But what is the “right thing” to do in that situation? If Solange had good reason to spazz on Jay (which has been widely speculated due to Beyonce’s relatively calm demeanor during the attack), was Bey right to let her sister attack him and only step in briefly when absolutely necessary? And if it was Solange who was in the wrong, should Beyonce have defended her husband against her raging sister? What would you have done? Let’s discuss.

Same-Sex Army Wife Banned from Spousal Club at Fort Bragg

A real-life controversy is giving Lifetime’s Army Wives a run for its scandalous money. Ashley Broadway and wife Heather Mack – a lieutenant colonel stationed at Fort Bragg – were married in November, a few months after the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” But Broadway has been denied membership in a base club for officers’ spouses, with many believing this ban is solely due to her sexual preference. Broadway was told by a representative from the Association of Bragg Officers’ Spouses last week that her application was turned down because she does not possess a military spouse identification card. HOWEVER, this is a brand new rule, according to Babette Maxwell, founder and executive director of Military Spouse Magazine . It was only enacted after Broadway asked to join the club. The club’s bylaws, obtained by NBC News, make it clear this organization accepts “spouses of all commissioned and warrant officers,” even mentioning that the group “will not seek to deprive individuals of their civil rights.” There is no reference in the bylaws to an identification card. Said a tear-filled Broadway of the rejection: “I was really hurt by the denial. Living for years under ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,’ I couldn’t be a part of the military family. After ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,’ I thought, wow, I can finally be part of something, finally give back to the military community in ways other than just writing a check. So it was a blow. A real blow. Here, I thought things were progressing. I was knocked back down.” Broadway and Mack have a two-year old son and the latter is eight months pregnant with their second child. Yesterday, the spouse club wrote on its website: “Our constitution and Bylaws are currently being reviewed. Thank you for your patience during this process. We will have them posted as soon as possible.”

Kyle Richards on Infidelity: Don’t Tell!

In her new, humbly-titled biography – “Life is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real With the Housewife Who Does It All” – Kyle Richards offers some scandalous advice. Simply put, she tells husbands and wives: “If you cheat once, don’t tell. You get a free pass.” “I’ve seen circumstances with people that I know are in love with their spouse and they made one mistake and I said – this is somebody that I know, nobody that anybody knows here, ‘Listen, if this really was a one time mistake, and you did not put this person in jeopardy,’ I personally think you should deal with it with yourself and with God and not go and say: ‘Honey look what I did,’ because I knew that this would ruin their relationship and their life. “And I can tell you that many, many, many years later they’re happy and together and she did make that mistake and she has to carry that and live with that.” Do you agree with Kyle’s advice, readers? Should one-time cheaters come clean?

How To Handle Your Friend-In-Laws

More here:

Marriage is a commitment, and not only to your spouse. In addition to marrying your one true love, you’re also marrying their family and their friends. And, while a man’s relationship with his mother-in-law and/or father-in-law can vary from BFFs to bitter enemies, you have to get along with them. They’re family! The trickier situation is often the spouse’s friends, or, as I like to call them, “friend-in-laws.” Now, if you and your significant other share all the same friends, and everyone can sit together and sing “Kum Ba Ya” without killing each other (or the use of alcohol), then great. However, more often than not there is that one friend that is just a worthless waste of human existence (at least in your eyes) that your wife or husband hearts. Whether she’s the cackling sistah girl who didn’t think you were worth shit to begin with or that “big brother” guy pal YOU know always wanted to be more than that, these are people you will have to deal with, right? I mean, they have been friends forever. They have passed out on your couch. They were in your wedding. And, if you’ve married this woman or man, you on some level have accepted them as “friends”…right? If you’re not sure, here are 5 types of friend-in-laws and my advice about how to best handle them: The know-it-all sistahgirl . Hook her up with one of your “good guy” friends (see below). Just make sure that he doesn’t screw her over. It will be more trouble than it’s worth. The space cadet . The chick who just seems late…to life. Have patience. She is usually also really hot, so it makes her a little more tolerable. If you’re not patient (and she is cute), kill her with kindness. Your wife will likely get really jealous and she will disappear. The snob . Ignore her. Snobs hate that shit. The wet blanket . She is sometimes No. 1 as well, but more often than not she is afraid…to do anything. The good guy . That male best friend that used to listen to all her problems. There’s no easy way around this one. You just have to grin and bear it. Sorry. And, if all else fails, just call in your dumbass friends that she hates. Yes, believe it or not, you have at least one… Yup, that one. Could A Man’s Single Friend Have A Negative Effect On A Committed Relationship? 5 Ways To Keep Your Man From Cheating

Jane Lynch and Lara Embry

Luckily for Jane Lynch, seeing her wife, 41, in a two-piece is not a rare occurrence. “We like to drink coffee, do a lot of talking and go hot-tubbing,” Lynch says of their pastime. “Hot tub time is great.” When it comes to flaunting figures, Jane Lynch leaves that to her new wife Lara Embry. “She wears bikinis – not me,” the Glee star, 50, told us at a recent Entertainment Weekly party. “She looks fantastic in a bikini.” Continuing to gush about her spouse#39;s physique, Lynch pointed to E
