Nick Jonas Explains Why He Stopped Purity Ring It was big deal back then when popular boyband The Jonas Brothers walked around sporting purity rings and vowing never to have sex before marriage. Well, young Nick lost his way years ago and tasted the fruit and hasn’t looked back since. During a recent fan interview with Reddit, the 23-year-old artist revealed why he decided to break his promise to remain a virgin until marriage. Via Just Jared : “I came from an incredibly religious home, growing up my dad was a pastor, and much like The First Family or people in front of the public eye, we were highly scrutinized as a family within the church and looked at as, well I guess you would call an example of what that family image should be. So long before our career started in music, that was what we were dealing with,” he explained. Nick added, “But as you do, you grow up, you live life, you gain some world perspective and you develop your own views and opinions as it relates to faith, as it relates to sex, and everything that falls under the bounds of what your parents teach you and what comes from religion and you get to make your own choices. So I started making my own choices, fell in love with somebody, made the choice to have sex with them, and from that point on it was about me being a man and being okay with my choices. And then it related to my art and people’s view of me and the public eye.” Preacher’s kid grows up to sorta rebel against his parents. Shocker!

As for Humphries’ trial hopes? “Kris would like there to be an admission that there was fraud, that there was a malicious intention by the Kardashians to use Kris and to make money and benefit themselves from him,” a source tells Life & Style . “He wants them to publicly admit that they never intended for it to be a real marriage.” In other Kardashian-related tabloid news: Kim is totally (NOT) planning to adopt !
John Mayer has been forced to cancel his spring tour. Due to a recurrence of his inflamed throat condition , the douchebag of an artist posted the following message on his Tumblr account today, explaining the change of plans and referencing his upcoming album: “I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down. “Okay, so here’s the plan… Born and Raised will be released as scheduled, but because I don’t make a very good anything-other-than-a-musician, I’m going to begin writing the next album very soon. “I’m pretty emotionally burnt out at the moment, but please know how hard I tried to resolve this and how disappointed I am that I can’t perform this record yet. I’m completely bummed, especially for all of you who started making plans to see a show. Sha Money XL , Island Def Jam’s Senior VP of A&R, took some time out of this day to impart wisdom on some aspiring musicians from Jay-Z’s old middle school in Brooklyn. The students from IS 318 ages 11 to 15 met the executive at the SAE Institute , a world-renowned audio engineering school. The founder of G-Unit records told the children about how he started out playing piano as a pre-teen. “I was once like ya’ll wanting to be in music…I tried to rap but I needed beats,” he said. “No one had beats for me so I started making music. But I realized my calling wasn’t to be a rapper. Thanks to the piano lessons I knew chord progressions and added what we learned in hip-hop and I became a producer.” Sha also shared the story of meeting the late Jam Master Jay and how the legend introduced him to 50 Cent . After the talk some of the students performed songs that they’d prepared for Sha to critique. “I’m inspired by their hunger,” he said afterward. “I learned a lot from the questions they asked.
