More Kelly Clarkson Songs Leak Online

‘What Doesn’t Kill You,’ ‘I Forgive You’ and ‘Dumb + Dumb =U’ hit the Internet over the weekend, following earlier leak of ‘Let Me Down.’ By Gil Kaufman Kelly Clarkson Photo: Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images Kelly Clarkson fans got a big sneak preview of the singer’s upcoming album over the weekend when three tracks reportedly slated for her fifth effort leaked onto the Internet. The leaks came less than a week after another never-before-heard song, the rocking “Let Me Down,” popped up online amid rumors that it could be the first single from the still untitled follow-up to 2009’s return to form All I Ever Wanted . Though the audio tracks were quickly pulled down, a number of sites that got a listen described the songs as very different from the angsty “Let Me Down.” One, “What Doesn’t Kill You,” reportedly features the lines, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger/ Stand a little taller/ Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone.” The Idolator blog described that song as a Pink-style empowerment anthem. Another leaked song, titled “Forgive You,” is a peace offering to a person from her past, in which Clarkson sings, “We were just a couple of kids trying to figure out how to live, doing it our way/ No shame, no blame, ’cause the damage is done.” She’s back to her old tricks in “Dumb + Dumb = U,” a slap at an unnamed ex who clearly rubbed her the wrong way. The song reportedly has the same pop-rock vibe as Clarkson’s smash hit “Since U Been Gone.” In the latest effort, she gets her revenge in lyrics such as “It ain’t rocket science/ I may not be Einstein, but I know that dumb plus dumb equals you!” A spokesperson for Clarkson could not be reached for comment at press time to confirm the legitimacy of the songs or if they are slated to be included on the album. According to an update from Clarkson earlier this year, the album is due in the fall and she recorded the final tune in late February. Songwriter Claude Kelly told MTV News in March that the delays in the album’s release are tied to efforts by Clarkson’s label to ensure the album is set up correctly. “They want to make sure that the arena is clean for Kelly Clarkson’s return , ’cause when she comes back, she always comes back pretty big,” he said. “They want to make sure when her first single comes out, there’s nothing out there that’s competing with it. I don’t know for sure, but Kelly always does it big, so when it comes out, the fans will be happy and she’ll sing her butt off and it’ll be good times.” Related Artists Kelly Clarkson

Rebecca Black Set To Drop New Single, EP

Follow-up to smash ‘Friday, titled ‘My Moment,’ will be released July 18. By Jocelyn Vena Rebecca Black Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images Thanks to her ubiquitous hit “Friday,” Rebecca Black quickly went from YouTube sensation to starring in a Katy Perry video for that singer’s equally ubiquitous hit “Last Friday Night.” Now Black is ready to take her career to the next level. She’ll release a new song, “My Moment,” on July 18, according to The Hollywood Reporter The song was written by Brandon “Blue” Hamilton (Justin Bieber) and Quinton Tolbert and the production credits include Charlton Pettus. The video is less kitschy (but perhaps just as literal) than her “Friday” video. It will include footage of her attending red-carpet events and receiving an award at her junior high school. It will “tell the story of her sudden rise to fame,” according to a statement. “It’s a fairy tale story, but it happened in real life.” Black is also working on finishing up her five-track EP, which will be released in August. “We’re thinking about it; we have so many different options right now. We’re trying to decide which route we should take,” Black told MTV News earlier this year about her career plans and following up her viral smash. “I really like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Katy Perry , Selena Gomez; all just the fun upbeat stuff, teenager songs,” she said of her musical inspirations. “My dream duet would be Justin Bieber. Even just doing something with Taylor Swift, or any of my favorite artists would be so cool.” Are you looking forward to Rebecca Black’s next single? Tell us in the comments! Usher Talks Grammy Night with Justin Bieber The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are this Sunday (February 13) and Usher and Justin Bieber are pumped for the night’s festivities. The “OMG” singer and the “Baby” pop sensation will perform together along with Jaden Smith, and it’s gonna be hot. Usher told press at last night’s Belvedere bash, “Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn’t want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here.” “And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for.” He continued, “The performance will be fun. We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. … This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn’t believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He’s going to play acoustically, and also, we’ll get down a bit.”

New HBO Series Game of Thrones to Be Naked as Hell

Game of Thrones , the new HBO fantasy series set to premiere April 17, is going to be “beyond R” in the ratings department, according to the show’s producer David Benioff . Benioff, who wrote the screenplay for the 2004 mythological epic Troy with a naked Diane Kruger , is taking full advantage of HBO’s skinthusiasm for the female body as represented in shows like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire . The series, which features 300 star Lena Heady , is based on the award-winning series of epic fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin called A Song of Ice and Fire . And Benioff is going to make sure that all the dirty parts make it to the screen. Hopefully some of them will include Lena! “Here, because we have ten hours to tell the story, we’re able to include all the major characters… and we’re able to do it the way George does it in the books in terms of the darkness of it and the violence of it and the sexuality of it, which a major studio would never let you do, even if you’re lucky enough to get an R rating,” Benioff told Access Hollywood . “George’s world is a violent world – there’s a lot of killing and bloodshed and eviscerations and decapitations and there’s a lot of sex. It’s one of the things that I loved about these books.” Game of Thrones sounds like something you would play with yourself.

Justin Bieber 3-D Movie Back On Track

‘Step Up 3D’ director Jon Chu will helm biopic/ concert film. By Adam Rosenberg Justin Bieber Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images After a brief hiccup, the 3-D Justin Bieber movie is back in the mix. It had previously been reported that , but he dropped out to promote his upcoming release, “Waiting for Superman.” Now Paramount Pictures has hired “Step Up 3D” director Jon Chu to steer the biopic/ concert film to the big screen, according to a press release. Also new to the team are producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, the duo behind “Project Runway,” “Top Chef” and “Project Greenlight.” Bieber manager Scooter Braun and Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid were previously confirmed as producers as well. The hiring comes not a moment too soon, as filming is already under way. Cameras were rolling behind the scenes earlier this week at the young pop star’s Nashville performance. They’ll be following him on tour through the end of this month, when Bieber’s August 31 Madison Square Garden performance in New York will be shot with 3-D cameras. Chu is coming to the Bieber movie fresh off of promoting the just-released “Step Up 3D.” Of the hiring, he said, “When I was approached about doing Justin’s film, I jumped at the opportunity to tell a story with honesty and heart. Most people don’t know that his is a true underdog story, and I hope to tell it in a compelling, genuine way, using all source materials available to convey his tale of becoming an icon for this digital age.” Magical Elves partners Cutforth and Lipsitz also expressed their excitement in a statement. “To be able to tell the story of Justin’s unique and revolutionary path to stardom in our first studio feature is an incredible opportunity for us,” they said. Despite the change in director, the movie is still set for a 2011 Valentine’s Day weekend release, as was previously announced.
