Are We Surprised? Fox News Host Laughs As Guest Suggests Canadians Should Get Reparations Before African Americans

Source: Rich Polk / Getty Fox News Host Laughs With Guest About Slavery Comments Fox News being insensitive about racism? Could’ve seen that one coming. The latest controversy from the network comes following a guest who appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show and said African Americans “need to move on” from slavery because it was abolished “a century-and-a-half ago”. Mark Steyn is a cultural commentator and made these comments on Thursday, during a segment discussing 2020 presidential candidates who are in favor of some sort of reparations for African Americans. During his rant on the topic, Steyn said: “Slavery was abolished a century and a half ago, nobody alive today has a grandparent who was a slave, and in that sense I think you reach a point where, you know, you need to move on. “The reparations thing, eventually, as the decades go by, becomes ridiculous,” he continued. Not stopping there, Steyn then went on to compare the experience of Black people in America to Canadians like himself–who he claimed also deserve reparations on the basis that if “[America] hadn’t had the revolution, the whole continent would now be Canada”. As Steyn spoke, comparing the hardships faced by African Americans to Canadians, the host responded by interjecting a “yeah” before laughing along with the guest’s comments. The conversation then went on to specifically address 2020 contender Senator Kamala Harris, who supports the idea of reparations for African Americans. The segment ended with Steyn contending that Harris’s “own experience is entirely apart from the African-American slave experience,” and that she is getting involved in “identity politics,” which Carlson quickly agreed with. Unsurprisingly, once the clip of this conversation surfaced online, it was met with tons of backlash on social media. Two white privileged men discuss reparations. Was this 1867? — Jennifer Hill (@sublimejah) February 22, 2019 Man, that bothers me! Completely ignores the fact that for some people, this is a part of their family history. Not to mention the civil rights movements of the 60s, which wasn't long ago. People grandparents lived it. — Trinity the Cat (@Trinitythecat) February 22, 2019 Couldn't Tucker just wear his hood on air? We wouldn't have to see his “I'm listening face” and it would keep hair and makeup from having to touch him. — Smoking Duck (@ScottyBeHotty) February 22, 2019 This latest controversy from the Fox News host comes after previous comments he’d made that cost him a significant portion of his advertisers. In December, Carlson–who is friends with Donald Trump–said that  immigration makes America “dirtier” . The comment was rightfully met with widespread backlash and resulted in more than 20 sponsors pulling their advertisements from the primetime show.

Saltine Furious: Wake Forest Student Complains After Classmates Gift Him Crackers For Being A Conservative Curmudgeon

Geri Lavrov/Getty Images Wake Forest Student Ryan Wolfe Cries “White Underprivilege” On Tucker Carlson Show This might just be the saddest story about racism we’ve ever reported. Sike! Last night Twitter began twittering about Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson’s interview with Wake Forest student Ryan Wolfe. You see, Wolfe is upset that the University won’t take action after his classmates clowned the isht out of him following a pre-election panel discussion hosted by Wake Forest Republican groups where he expressed his conservative views… The classmates “bullied” him by handing him a box of saltine’s and in a group chat during the event, a student photoshopped his face… on a CRACKER! Lead story at the top of the hour over on Fox News: pic.twitter.com/4Ut4BwqDbV — Ryan J. Reilly (@ryanjreilly) March 1, 2018 The twitter thread was off the chain… You really need to see the video to get the full effect: pic.twitter.com/1ZBEGYEvfM — Andrew Lawrence (@ndrew_lawrence) March 1, 2018 So we went looking for the video. Wolfe basically went on Tucker’s show to cry about reverse racism because after he complained for the University to take action he was told that his classmates were basically justified because of Trump’s election. He even tried to throw Melissa Harris-Perry into his argument. GTFOH! Sorry, but we couldn’t hear the end of the video we were laughing so hard when Tucker Carlson called dude BRAVE to come on the show… Bullying and online harassment is wrong, but do either of these guys realize that BLACK people and people of color actually RISKED THEIR LIVES and the LIVES of their family members just to have the simple right to get an education, vote or be treated like an equal in public? White privilege is something else, ain’t it?! Continue reading

Ho Sit Down: Super Wankster Tucker Carlson Reneges On Michael Vick Execution Statement

Oh now this douchebag wants to take back his words : Tucker Carlson returned to “Hannity” on Monday and walked back his statement that footballer Michael Vick “should’ve been executed” for his abuse of dogs. He had made the statement on last Tuesday’s show after it emerged that President Obama had spoken with Vick. Sean Hannity joked that he’d read that Carlson was “destroying the show” during his break and asked him to explain his comments. “This is what happens when you get too emotional,” Carlson said. “I’m a dog lover, I love them and…I know a lot about what Michael Vick did…I overspoke. I’m uncomfortable with the death penalty in any circumstance. Of course I don’t think he should be executed, but I do think that what he did is truly appalling.” Source

Understanding The Frenzy Over Vick and White Folks’ Heightened Love of Dogs

So Tucker Carlson, Fox News commentator and professional agitator, recently ignited a small controversy over his comments that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick should have been executed three years ago when convicted on dog-fighting and animal cruelty charges. As a Philadelphian, and needless to say Eagles fan, no one is happier than I (and the millions other Eagles fans around the country) to have a player like Vick leading the helm.  But even through his redemptive professional comeback, Vick still can’t escape the calls from animal rights activist and dog owners alike that he should have been stripped of his freedom and barred from the game forever. FOX News Analyst: Michael Vick Should Be Executed

Filed under: Michael Vick , Tucker Carlson Tucker Carlson said on FOX News Channel last night … Michael Vick should have been executed for killing dogs. Carlton railed on President Obama for suggesting Vick deserved a second chance. A little extreme?

Ho Sit Down: Wankster Tucker Carson Says Michael Vick Should Have Been Executed [Video]

WTF: Tucker Carlson filled in for Sean Hannity Tuesday night on Fox News and made a shocking claim: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick should be executed. Carlson led a panel discussion pegged to President Obama’s recent phone call with the Eagles owner, in which he applauded the Eagles for giving Vick a second chance following his time in jail over his dogfighting scandal. But Carlson is not as forgiving as Obama or the Eagles. “I’m a Christian, I’ve made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances,” Carlson said. “But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should’ve been executed for that. He wasn’t, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale.” This guy needs to be executed for talking shyte. F*ck him. SMH. Source

Daily Caller Gets KeithOlbermann.com, But Will Olbermann Sue?

Tucker Carlson is now the proud owner of a slightly used Keith Olbermann. With a large-print headline announcing “We own you” and a picture of ol’ Keith looking bemused whilst he adjusts he glasses, The Daily Caller promoted their newest acquisition: http://keitholbermann.com/ . It’s just the latest shot across the bow in the escalating feud between Olbermann and Carlson, which will one day be featured on a Cracked.com list of the top eight inconsequential personal feuds the media chose to cover instead of events that were actually newsworthy. The Daily Caller criticizes Olbermann at least once a week, with reporter Ruth Graham regularly writing sarcastic critiques of his shows, a feature called “We watch because we’re paid to.” According to Don Irvine of Accuracy in Media, the spat betwixt Carlson and Olbermann began over the David Weigel scandal. Olbermann and The Daily Caller exchanged pithy insults on Twitter, each claiming that the other did not know what they were talking about with Olbermann additionally saying that Tucker Carlson’s “bowtie contained [his] brain.” The must have been the straw that broke the camels back. There is only one hope for the future of the nation and that is for President Obama to personally step in and mediate between the two media personalities by throwing a wild kegger at Joe Biden’s place . Alas, they will probably go to court, as Michael Calderone writes : In a similar case, The World Intellectual Property Organization ruled in favor of actor Hill Harper when he sought to take back hillharper.com. The WIPO [World Intellectual Property Organization] noted in the ruling that that a complainant—say, Keith Olbermann—could qualify to block the transfer of a domain name to the respondent—in this case, The Daily Caller—if the petitioner can prove that the name ‘is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark in which the complainant has rights,’ that the respondent ‘has no rights or legitimate interests in respect of the domain name’ and if the name ‘has been registered and is being used in bad faith.’   *Update According to the US Copyright Office : “Copyright law does not protect domain names.”
