Happy 36th Birthday, Kanye West!

Kanye West turns 36 years old today and it’s rather clear what the rapper needs as a gift: Some serious shut-eye. Over the next month or so, the rapper will release a new album ( on June 18 ) and will welcome a baby into the world alongside Kim Kardashian . Okay, granted. According to certain reports , Kanye won’t exactly be along Kim’s side for the birth of his little girl. But still. When will the man sleep? Aside from when his dreadfully boring baby mama talks? Send your best birthday wishes to Kanye now, along with recommendations on the best ways to catch some Zzzzs. He’s gonna need em!

Nikon D7100 24.1 MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR ( Review

While I’m hoping Nikon will release a D400, I couldn’t resist trying out the new D7100. As a working pro who uses both FX and DX format cameras, my first impressions of the D7100 are very positive. My simple summary is that this camera is a bargain and that those already inclined to own the best the DX camera Nikon sells should get one.Having worked for years with the D300 and the D7000 bodies, my perspective on this one is influenced by what I think is good about those two popular cameras.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master Sets September Awards Season Date

As breathlessly reported by Variety’s Jeff Sneider via Twitter : “Ladies and gentlemen, The Master primed for limited release on Sept. 14, will expand the following weekend!” The Weinstein Co. will release early in prime awards season moving the pic up from an October release, rolling the Philip Seymour Hoffman-starrer wide on September 21. The bad news for Austin, Texas film geeks: The timing seems to contradict speculation that Anderson’s hotly anticipated pic might debut at Fantastic Fest, which runs September 20-27, though it may still screen there post-limited release. A Venice , late Toronto , or Telluride premiere is likely. [ Variety ]
