Heaven’s Gate, the surviving members of the group in question, is pursuing legal action after they say the rapper used their symbol for the cover art of his album and single. Page Six reports : A month after surviving members of the cult slammed the rapper, 24, for the purported Heaven’s Gate-inspired cover of his upcoming album, “Eternal Atake,” the artwork for Uzi’s new single features another reference to the group. Released early Tuesday morning, the artwork for “New Patek” features the rapper reaching through a keyhole — a symbol associated with the infamous suicide cult and featured prominently in its logo. When reached for comment by Page Six, the Telah Foundation, which is made up of surviving Heaven’s Gate members who were left behind to answer media inquiries about the cult, explained that their lawyers have been in touch with the rapper. The outlet adds that officials from the Telah Foundation have employed a legal team to address the use of the logo and when pressed by Page Six , they stated hopes that the parties can come to a mutual understanding. Heaven’s Gate was a religious cult began in 1974 by Marshall Applewhite and led along with Bonnie Nettles. The group believed that their human existence was coming to an end and to rise to the next level, they would need to shade their earthly bodies in order to be transported into a spacecraft where they would live in total bliss free of “mammalian” tendencies. Antonio Armstrong And Wife Dawn Killed By Their Teenage Son Extremely tragic story coming out of Houston this evening. Former NFL player and Texas A&M football star Antonio Armstrong, and his wife of over 20 years Dawn, were each shot dead in their bedroom by their own 16-year-old son, while the entire family was home. Via NYDN : Former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and his wife were fatally shot by their teenage son in the family’s Houston home early Friday, police said. Armstrong’s wife, Dawn, was pronounced dead in their bedroom after their 16-year-old son dialed 911 around 1:30 a.m., police sources told KTRK-TV. Antonio Armstrong was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but multiple local media outlets reported that he had died later in the day. Investigators who searched the southwest Houston home found a gun still smoking with a note next to it reading, “I’ve been watching you,” the TV station reported. Police arrested the 16-year-old boy. Sources close to the investigation said he was likely to be charged as an adult. All three of the couple’s children — including a 20-year-old son and a teenage daughter — were in the Palmetto St. home at the time of the shooting. All were unharmed, Houston police homicide investigator Jimmy Dodson told the Houston Chronicle. SMH. What the hell would drive their son to do something so heinous to his own parents like this?? Texas Couple Arrested After 1-Year-Old Baby Girl Is Burned Alive In Oven A Texas mother and her boyfriend are behind bars after police say the woman’s toddler was baked to death inside an oven after being left home alone with her older siblings according to HuffPo reports : That horrifying nightmare led to Racqual Thompson, 25, and Cornell Malone, 21, being booked Tuesday into a Harris County jail, each on four counts of endangering a child. Houston police say the couple left 19-month-old J’Zyra and Thompson’s three other children, all under the age of 5, alone on Nov. 16 when they went to get pizza. They said they were gone for about two hours before they returned to find three of Thompson’s children hysterically crying inside and pointing toward the kitchen. That’s where they said they found the tipped-over oven turned on “all the way” and little J’Zyra suffering fatal burns after allegedly being placed inside, according to court documents obtained by KTRK. The documents also describe Thompson as being seven-months pregnant with Malone’s child. Neighbors told the station the mother would regularly leave her children home alone. KPRC also said that there were previous reports made to Child Protective Services concerning the mother, and that her surviving three children have since been taken into the agency’s custody.
