“Horrible Bosses” Gets A Sequel

Read the original post:

Horrible Bosses was a srprise hit comedy about three guys whose bosses were the things workplace nightmares are made of. The three friends decide they are going to kill their respective bosses. They seek out a black guy, played by Jamie Foxx , to figure out the perfect way to kill them. After hearing that, naturally, you’d say, “That film sounds like it needs another installment!” No? You probably would if you were a Hollywood studio executive. According to Film Drunk , screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have signed on to write the sequel to  Horrible Bosses . The two wrote the first film and  New Line Cinema was more than happy to have them return.  Jason Sudeikis , Jason Bateman , and Charlie Day are all expectedto reprise their roles. New Line is also in talks to get Seth Gordon to use his directorial magic on the second installment as he did with the first one. Although this sounds good on paper, how is that going to work? Are all three of the characters going to find new jobs with worse bosses than before or will a change of setting be the only thing to refresh the story? We’ll see soon enough. Eve Is A ‘Genius,’ Says ‘Get Em’ Collaborator Wolfgang Gartner

‘This was meant to be,’ Gartner tells MTV News of their collaboration. By Akshay Bhansali Eve Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage When MTV News caught up with rapper Eve and famed electronic dance music DJ/ producer , they were full of compliments for each other. The two collaborated on “Get Em,” the latest single from Gartner’s new album, Weekend in America, which dropped on Tuesday. “She’s a genius,” gushed Gartner, who was born Joey Youngman. “The only two people on this album that I actually worked with in person were Eve and will.i.am. And I would say the same thing about both of them: that they are musical and lyrical geniuses. “The hook that she wrote for this song, there is something that can’t really be put into words about it,” he continued. “I’ve compared it to Sugar Hill Gang before. It’s just got this old-school innocent-chant catchiness to it.” When MTV News’ Sway caught up with Eve, she too spoke very highly of working with Gartner. “I think he’s great,” Eve said. “What’s crazy is that I had just finished doing a record with him, but I had never seen him perform. So I wrote the first verse to the record and felt like I needed to see him perform to finish the record because I don’t know that world. So after I saw him perform I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s a whole other world.’ I think he’s great. In his lane he does amazing work. So I’m happy to be a part of that movement.” In fact, Gartner has roped in quite a few hip-hop collaborators for Weekend, including will.i.am, Omarion and Cam’ron and Jim Jones. But observing Eve do her thing in the studio appeared to be extra-special for Gartner, who plans to shoot a video for “Get Em.” “In the studio with her, just the way that she starts throwing out ideas and the way that stuff comes to her — they were things that obviously I would never think of, but I’m not a lyricist, so my mind doesn’t work that way,” Gartner said. “But the way that she wrote this song over the music, it flows with the song. The words work with the rhythm. It just forms one cohesive sound. “Whereas you hear a lot of dance rap tracks and it’s like they wrote a rap and threw it over somebody else’s beat, she wrote this thing to work with it and get embedded into it,” he continued. “She was obviously feeling the beat. This was meant to be. These two things were meant to be together.” Related Videos Wolfgang Gartner: The ‘Weekend’ Trip Related Artists Wolfgang Gartner Eve

Emma Roberts Joins ‘Scream 4’ Cast

‘Nancy Drew’ actress joins Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin in horror sequel. By Ryan J. Downey Emma Roberts Photo: GABRIEL BOUYS/ AFP/ Getty Images New residents of Woodsboro keep piling up: Emma Roberts has been cast in “Scream 4.” “I’m so excited to be part of this groundbreaking franchise,” Roberts told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.” Director/producer Wes Craven had this to say about the “Nancy Drew” actress: “Emma’s talent, beauty and range will add immensely to the sophistication, intensity and fun of the ‘Scream’ franchise as it returns to the screen once more.” It’s unclear who Roberts will be playing, although it’s widely assumed she’ll be Jill Prescott, cousin to Neve Campbell’s protagonist, Sidney. ( EW has reported that sources tell them this, as well.) Julia Roberts’ niece joins Ashley Greene (“Twilight”), Hayden Panettiere (TV’s “Heroes”) and Rory Culkin, who will take over the franchise from series regulars Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, all also set to appear. Roberts and Culkin previously worked together in 2008’s “Lymelife.” Writer Kevin Williamson has kept plot points under wraps. Speculation is running rampant as to who will survive the latest installment of the pop-culture-referencing horror series that famously killed off the first film’s biggest star, Drew Barrymore, in the opening sequence. “Scream” (1996), “Scream 2” (1997) and “Scream 3” (2000) were all directed by horror master Craven (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) based on characters created by Williamson, who wrote the first two films. Williamson created TV’s “Dawson’s Creek” and heads up the CW’s “Vampire Diaries.” The “Scream” movies take place in the fictitious town of Woodsboro, where teens are stalked by killers with various motivations related to Sidney’s family — all while wearing the ghost-faced mask based on Edvard Munch’s famous painting “The Scream.” Filled with meta references to classic horror flicks, the movies deftly blended humor and angst with genuine frights. Drake’s ‘Fireworks’ Leaks Online

The Toronto MC raps ‘it wasn’t love’ with Rihanna, talks Lil Wayne and family on Thank Me Later track. By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage “Fireworks,” the song that kicks off Drake’s forthcoming album , Thank Me Later, leaked online Wednesday (May 26). On it, the rapper touches on his rumored alliance with Rihanna , amid verses about Lil Wayne and his rocky relationship with his father. “I could tell it wasn’t love, / I just thought you’d f—ed with me/ Who could have predicted/ Lucky Strike would have you stuck with me,” Drake raps in the second verse, referring to the Manhattan bowling alley where the two reportedly made out. “Damn, I kept my wits about me, luckily/ What happened between us that night it always seems to trouble me/ Now all of a sudden, these gossip rags want to cover me/ And you making it seem like it happened that way because of me. “But I was curious,” he continues. “And I’ll never forget it, baby/ What an experience/ You could have been the one, but it wasn’t serious/ There was smoke in the air before/ That was me clearing it, that felt good.” The track was produced by Drake ‘s frequent collaborator Noah “40” Shebib and features Alicia Keys singing the hook. The rapper first began performing pieces of the song while on his current Away From Home Tour. Earlier this month, during the Los Angeles stop, he announced Keys would be featured on the number. The song begins with the lyrics, “money just changed everything,” picking up where he left off at the end of the So Far Gone EP’s “Fear.” The third verse finds Drake opening about his father, a Memphis studio musician who worked alongside the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, and whom he’s had a challenging relationship with; his parents split when he was only 5 years old. “Everything is the same, but it feels different/ My dad called me up knowing that I still listen,” the Toronto MC rhymes. “And he still got his foot out, guilt tripping/ It’s been years, thought I just learned to deal with it.” Drake spoke to MTV News in April about “Fireworks,” explaining why it would be the album’s kickoff. “The song itself is the first song on the album; I think it’s the biggest indicator of what the album is gonna be like,” Drake said. “That’s why I picked that song to go first, and that’s why I wrote the first verse like that. It’s really where I am in my life right now. I know they’re looking forward to the album, so I want them to get a feel of how the story starts off.” Does Drake make “Fireworks” on his new song? By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: Cash Money Records Drake confirmed Alicia Keys will appear as a guest on his forthcoming debut album during the Los Angeles stop of his Away From Home tour on Thursday night. The Toronto MC broke the news to the crowd as the opening notes of “Fireworks,” slated to be Thank Me Later’s opening track, began to boom from the speakers. “This right here is the first song that you will here when you put that disk in,” Drake said of Thank Me Later, due June 15. “It’s a song with myself and Miss Alicia Keys, it’s called “Fireworks.” “Money just changed everything, I wonder how life without it would go,” he rapped. “From the concrete, who knew that a flower would grow/ Looking down from the top and it’s crowded below/ My 15 minutes started an hour ago.” Drake premiered the track during the first stop of his tour and has been revealing more of the number with subsequent performances. Ricky Martin Comes Out as "Fortunate Homosexual"

Ricky Martin, who has dodged questions of his sexuality for years now, officially revealed that he is a gay man in a statement on his website earlier today. The Puerto Rican singer,, who is planning to write a memoir about his life, says the birth of his twin sons (via surrogate) led to his decision to come out. Ricky’s kids were born in August 2008, and similar to Clay Aiken, he says he did not want to live a lie while raising a child … in Ricky’s case two of them. His coming out statement is well-written and at times poignant. You have to respect the honesty and emotion behind it, along with Martin’s reasoning … “A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating. For many years, there has been only one place where I am in touch with my emotions fearlessly and that’s the stage. Being on stage fills my soul in many ways, almost completely. It’s my vice.
