With Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber spending a lot of time together these days, many are speculation that a romantic reconciliation is brewing. And it very well might be. But sources tell Star magazine that the ex-lovers may be meeting up for a professional reasons as well. “The duo hope that hitting the road will repair their battered images,” an insider says, hinting that Justin and Selena may actually go on tour together. Karrueche Tran: Chris Brown Got Dumped For Hollering at Random HOES!

Rumors that Karrueche Tran dumped Chris Brown earlier this year were accurate. The alleged reason? A little different than previously reported. It wasn’t because Rihanna paid him a secret visit in rehab, or because Chris banged in rehab employee … although both of those things did occur. Karrueche pulled the plug on their years-long, on-again, off-again relationship because he refused to stop texting his legion of side piece playthings. Tran’s break-up preceded Chris’ sexual tryst with a female inside rehab, reports indicate. Kae ended things after she visited Chris in rehab the month before. During that visit to rehab, where he was being treated for anger management, Tran saw Chris’ phone was FILLED to the gills with dirty texts from random girls. Good times. For a girl who stood by her man through a LOT, it was the last straw, and she let him know it. Bet he’s thinking about this (among other things) in solitary. Karrueche was incredibly pissed, and rightfully so, because she had been nothing but supportive to Chris throughout his ordeal, even going to court with him. She hadn’t heard that he was allegedly getting down with girls in rehab until after the break-up … he is now in jail after being kicked out of rehab. One of the reasons for that? Brown was touching women inappropriately , breaking a rule the facility (the second to kick him out) imposed on him specifically. Pretty incredible. Chris Brown: Dumped by Karrueche Tran! Spike Albrecht to Kate Upton: Call Me!

This is what we call one serious heat check. University of Michigan point guard Spike Albrecht came off the bench during last night’s national title game to drop four three-pointers and score 17 points… in the first half! And even though his team lost to Louisville, the freshman’s confidence remained sky-high this morning, as he sent out a Tweet to the best looking fan in attendance at the Georgia Dome: Kate Upton! Does Albrecht actually have a shot at seeing Kate Upton nude ? The supermodel is a native of Michigan. And she has been rumored to have affection for both sports and teams from that state, with previous reports linking her to Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander . But Albrecht will need to duplicate his title game heroics numerous times next season to have a chance with this blonde bombshell. He only averaged 1.8 points per contest during the regular season and, while we admire his Twitter game today, Upton won’t be going for any athlete without some real game going forward.

Tom Cruise on Katie Holmes Divorce: Didn’t See That One Coming!

Turns out the rumors were trueL Tom Cruise was as surprised as everyone else when news broke that he and Katie Holmes were getting a divorce. “I did not expect that,” Cruise told German TV network ProSieben. After five years of marriage, Holmes announced she was leaving Cruise on June 29 of last year which left the movie star both heartbroken and blindsided. However, the star – who’s making the media rounds for Oblivion – reveals he has had “an incredible amount of time to reflect” on life after the break up. “Life is a challenge,” Cruise says. “To be 50 and have experiences and think you have everything under control, and then it hits you … that’s what life is.” “Life is tragicomic. You need a certain sense of humor.” The couple has one daughter together, 6-year-old Suri, and reports circulated that she was one of the main factors in Holmes’ decision to leave Cruise. People reported the divorce “was a long time coming” for Holmes who was “mostly concerned about the education and care of her daughter Suri.” However, the element of surprise was key for her. “She was talking to Tom on the phone up until [the week before] saying, ‘I love you,'” a source told Us . “Her inner circle [had] been planning this.” Holmes’ attorney father even helped orchestrate it. Whatever happened, in the wake of their separation, Cruise threw himself into work. The actor spent time in Iceland and L.A. wrapping up Oblivion . Ryan Gosling To Direct Drive Co-Star Christina Hendricks In Feature Debut

Ryan Gosling is graduating from actor/coloring book muse to writer-director with his directorial debut, How To Catch A Monster , from his own script – and he’s recruited Drive co-star Christina Hendricks to play the lead. So what’s the Baby Goose’s first foray behind the camera about? Described as a “modern day fairytale” with elements of “fantasy, noir, and suspense,” Monster sounds like a cousin of sorts to Nicholas Winding Refn ‘s Drive , which followed Gosling’s coiled-up Driver in a seedy tour through Los Angeles. Hendricks co-starred in Drive as Blanche, the pouty femme fatale who gets wrapped up in a job gone wrong before taking a memorable powder in a motel bathroom. Monster , produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel (two of the producers on Drive ), will be courting buyers at the Toronto Film Festival next month, with filming to start next spring. Per press release, via Indiewire: ” How To Catch a Monster weaves elements of fantasy, noir, and suspense into a modern day fairytale. Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Lawrence O’Donnell Picks Five Movies You Must See To Prepare For The 2012 Presidential Race

So Mitt Romney has been nominated as the Republican party’s presidential candidate. To quote Robert Redford’s  money line from The Candidate , “What do we do now?”  Even if you plan to watch his extremely fit, catfish-wrangling running mate Paul Ryan speak tonight and Mr. Bain Capital himself on Thursday, there’s a big holiday weekend to wade through before President Obama and the Democrats stage their own dog-and-donkey show beginning Sept. 4 in Charlotte, NC. In other words, it’s a good time to watch some good movies, and, given that the 2012 presidential smackdown is about to go into overdrive, Movieline asked one of the sharpest political analysts we know,  Lawrence O’Donnell, host of MSNBC’s The Last Word   and an Emmy-winning former producer and writer for The West Wing , to pick five essential movies for our readers to watch in preparation for the 2012 race. His choices are after the break. Now do your homework.  1.   The Candidate (1972):  If you watch only one movie about American politics, it must be The Candidate . The movie is 40 years old but remains flawlessly up to date and tells you everything you need to know about how campaigns really work. 2.   The Seduction of Joe Tynan (1979):    Alan Alda wrote and starred in this 1979 movie that shows the reality of life for a senator and includes a performance by Meryl Streep at the beginning of her brilliant career. 3. Wag the Dog (1997):  Barry Levinson’s brilliant and funny imagining of the collision of politics, sex scandals and war includes hysterical and thoroughly real performances by Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro and Denis Leary. 4.   Election (1999):   Election wants to show how bitter, nasty and cynical politics can be — so, of course, it is about the election of a high-school class president. Reese Witherspoon’s stunning 1999 performance led to much bigger offers for her. 5. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939):    Frank Capra’s film is the first important entry in American political film history.  Jimmy Stewart’s performance is indelible and this is the only movie ever shot in the US Senate.
