Rudy Boesch, Legendary Survivor Contestant, Dead at 91

Rudy Boesch, one of the best-known contestants in the history of Survivor, has died after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 91 years old. Boesch, a breakout star during Survivor’s very first season, was a former Navy Seal. He was cast back in 2000 at the age of 72, finishing the season in third place and quickly became a fan favorite due to his lovably cantankerous persona.  Tweeted Rudy’s ally from that memorable run on the series, after learning of his death: “Ours was an interesting bond, Dear Rudy! You and I helped open minds and undermine predjudces [sic]. While your time here has passed, you will remain loved and iconic, dear friend!” Rudy served in Vietnam and earned the Bronze Star Medal for heroic action. He retired from the military in 1990, a decade before becoming the oldest player to ever compete on Survivor. That first season, of course, was such a huge hit that CBS has since ordered 37 more. After the debut season of Survivor, Rudy made an encore on Survivor: All-Stars in 2004. Boesch married Marjorie Thomas in 1955, and they had three kids. They remained married for 53 years, until her death in 2008. During season 1, Boesch’s closest friend was Hatch, the openly gay corporate trainer who ultimately won the show. It was an unexpected alliance… to say the least. “Rudy Boesch and I both served our country in the military: he in the Navy, and I in the Army,” Hatch told People Magazine, adding: “But Rudy also served our country as an example of honesty and open-mindedness by respectfully engaging and aligning with me, an openly homosexual man, to play Survivor on the world stage.” Survivor: All Stars contestant Rob Cesternino also recalled his friendship with Boesch to People. This is what he said: Rudy was my roommate for weeks on our trip to Argentina after we both were voted out during Survivor: All-Stars. I would hang on his every word because he was would tell and re-tell all these amazing stories with his unique combination of brutal honesty and a razor-sharp wit. I’ve never met anybody who could ever make me laugh as much as Rudy. Funeral arrangements for Boesch have not yet been announced. He’s the latest ex-Survivor star to pass away, following Jenn Lyon, who placed fourth on Survivor: Palau, who died in 2010 after a six-year battle with breast cancer. Original Survivor contestant BB Andersen passed away of brain cancer in 2013 at age 77. In 2014, 26-year-old Blood vs. Water contestant Caleb Bankston was killed in a railway accident. Survivor Gabon contestant Dan Kay died in 2017. And Survivor: China’s Ashley Massaro died of suicide earlier this year. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Trump Plans To Use An Executive Order To Suspend The 14th Amendment

R emember the days when Republicans worshiped the Constitution? Well, those days are over with as   President Trump said he will use an executive order to suspend the 14th Amendment. See Also: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault Conviction In an interview with Axios , Trump said, “We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in, has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits. It’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. And it has to end.” Actually, this is not true. There are several countries that have birthright citizenship : Brazil, Jamaica, Argentina, Canada, among others. Trump continued: “It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don’t. You can definitely do it with an Act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it just with an executive order.” He added, “It’s in the process. It’ll happen with an executive order.” Trump also claimed he’s consulted with the White House counsel. The 14th Amendment has its roots in slavery. Adopted in 1868, it’s considered one of the Reconstruction Amendments and granted citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws to former slaves. In short, under the 14th Amendment, citizenship is awarded to children born in the U.S., or in U.S. territories, to parents who immigrated into the country. Some people were claiming Trump could not suspend the 14th Amendment and he is just trying to stir up his base for the midterm elections. But we should not doubt the hate of this man. What’s even scarier is that even if he decides to sign an “executive order,” there is no branch of government to stop him. Every branch of government is owned by the Republicans who faithfully and blindly defend him. SEE ALSO: All The Ways Cops Are Still Trying To Cover Up LaQuan McDonald’s Execution Outrageous! Instagram Model Camila Morrone Is Sexy Cute

I’ve been a big fan of  Camila Morrone for a while now, even though I don’t know a single thing about her. Well, other than that her Instagram is hot enough to melt your phone. But after this latest round of lingerie pictures, I decided to try looking her up again, and this time, I was able to find out two things: 1) Camila’s originally from Argentina, and 2) she’s going to be in some new Bruce Willis movie. Hmm. On second thought, that’s not actually all that interesting. We should probably just stick to the lingerie pictures instead. Enjoy! » view all 48 photos

Father’s Day Preciousness: Kids Read #LoveLetters To Their Incarcerated Dads [Video]

Google’s #LoveLetters campaign seeks to highlight and uplift the voices of young people who have an incarcerated parent. Sadly, this phenomenon hits our community more than most: The costs of mass incarceration have disproportionately affected the lives of Black men. From 1980 to 2007, about one in three of the 25.4 million adults arrested for drugs was African-American. And if that current trend continues, one in three Black boys born today can expect to spend time in prison during his lifetime. All in all, we’re now at a point where there are more African-American men incarcerated in the U.S. than the total prison populations of India, Argentina, Canada, Lebanon, Germany, Finland, Israel and England combined. Great to see the love these children have for their fathers has prevailed through such circumstances. YouTube
