Transgenders Will Now Be Allowed To Serve Openly In The U.S. Armed Forces Looks like the U.S. Armed Forces is falling in line with the state of societal norms in 2016 according to a statement released today by the Department Of Defense … Secretary of Defense Ash Carter today announced that transgender individuals will now be able to openly serve in the U.S. armed forces. The DoD policy announced today also establishes a construct by which service members may transition gender while serving, sets standards for medical care and outlines responsibilities for military services and commanders to develop and implement guidance, training and specific policies in the near and long-term. “This is the right thing to do for our people and for the force,” Carter said. “We’re talking about talented Americans who are serving with distinction or who want the opportunity to serve. We can’t allow barriers unrelated to a person’s qualifications prevent us from recruiting and retaining those who can best accomplish the mission.” The policy will be phased in during a one-year period. Effective immediately, service members may no longer be involuntarily separated, discharged or denied reenlistment solely on the basis of gender identity. Service members currently on duty will be able to serve openly. It’s one thing to allow transgenders to serve openly, its another thing entirely to get the soldiers to accept them and not haze, abuse, or discriminate against them. 1, 2, the Army’s comin’ for you… Al Qaeda Leader Abu Yahya al-Libi Has Been Killed By U.S. Drones Abu Yahya al-Libi, the No. 2 man in al Qaeda and a longtime public face of the terror network, is dead, White House spokesman Jay Carney confirmed Tuesday. Al-Libi’s death was “another serious blow to core al Qaeda,” said Carney, who was unable to provide further details. “His death is part of the degradation taking place in core al Qaeda in the last several years,” Carney said. Earlier Tuesday, U.S. officials said that al-Libi was killed by a CIA drone strike in Pakistan launched Monday. Al-Libi’s death marks one of the most significant blows to al Qaeda since the U.S. military killed Osama bin Laden in a daring nighttime raid in Pakistan a year ago. Al-Libi was second-in-command behind al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, who took the helm after bin Laden’s death. “There is no one who even comes close in terms of replacing the expertise (al Qaeda) has just lost,” said the U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Al-Libi “played a critical role in the group’s planning against the West, providing oversight of the external operations efforts,” the official said. “Zawahiri will be hard-pressed to find any one person who can readily step into Abu Yahya’s shoes,” the official said. “In addition to his gravitas as a longstanding member of AQ’s leadership, Abu Yahya’s religious credentials gave him the authority to issue fatwas, operational approvals and guidance to the core group in Pakistan and regional affiliates.” The U.S. Armed Forces is NOT to be f**ked with! For those you with Armed Forces friends and family, please pay attention… Violent sex crimes committed by active U.S. Army soldiers have almost doubled over the past five years, due in part to the trauma of war, according to an Army report released on Thursday. Reported violent sex crimes increased by 90 percent over the five-year period from 2006 to 2011. There were 2,811 violent felonies in 2011, nearly half of which were violent felony sex crimes. Most were committed in the United States. One violent sex crime was committed by a soldier every six hours and 40 minutes in 2011, the Army said, serving as the main driver for an overall increase in violent felony crimes. Higher rates of violent sex crimes are “likely outcomes” of intentional misconduct, lax discipline, post-combat adrenaline, high levels of stress and behavioral health issues, the report said. There is no excusing this kind of behavior whatsoever, but as we saw last week, soldiers may be dealing with mental health issues that may severely affect their judgment and attitude. The top five violent felony offenses committed by soldiers in 2011 were aggravated assault, rape, aggravated sexual assault, forcible sodomy and child pornography. Soldiers suffering from issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, and depression have been shown to have higher incidences of partner abuse, according to the report. Soldiers with PTSD are up to three times more likely to be aggressive with their female partners than those without such trauma, the report said. This is as sad as it is disturbing. If you have Armed Forces members amongst your family or friends, encourage them to seek counseling and treatment if they appear to be having trouble readjusting to civilian life. This looks about right, Katy Perry dressed as a complete moron for some Christmas crap the other day. The girl can make herself so unattractive sometimes, it’s pretty amazing. I get that she’s supposed to be dressed up as a Toy Soldier and wants to be as authentic as possible, I guess women aren’t allowed to serve in the Toy Armed Forces just yet, but I think the fat hipster boobs are a dead give away.
Today Shannon, Heather and I get back on the road and begin what will most likely be the most hectic and exciting three months of our lives. The last couple of weeks has given me more time to reflect on the world, what’s at stake in this election, and how proud I am of my family. Of course, I’m proud of my parents. I’m also very proud of my brothers, who are serving our country in the Armed Forces, and my sister, who is entering her senior year of high school and has so much to look forward to as she gets ready to begin a new chapter of her life. With that in mind, here’s the latest video from Shannon that chronicles our trip to Southeast Asia with Mom and highlights her inspiring devotion to charities that seek to ease the pain of those suffering across the globe.
