Earlier this week, Teen Mom: OG fans were stunned by reports that Matt Baier had gotten married . The news was surprising not only because Baier was dating Amber Portwood just a few short months ago, but also because it's tough to imagine the woman who'd walk blindly into a marriage with the guy, given his appallingly sketchy past. So who is Jennifer Conlon? Well, with the exception of one interview, it seems she's keeping a mighty low-profile, but here's what we've learned in the days since she exchanged vows with Baier. 1. A (Formerly) Single Mom Like Amber, Jennifer was a single mom when she met Baier. Unlike Amber, she’s not a wealthy TV star. 2. Serving in Sin City Conlon reportedly works as a waitress in Las Vegas, where Matt, who earns much of his living from gambling, spends most of his time. 3. A Private Figure “She’s not a public figure. So we kept our relationship private,” Baier told the press about his relationship with Conlon. 4. Stepdaughters For Matt Jennifer apparently is the mother of two girls, whose ages are unknown. 5. So What Does Jen Have to Say As we stated earlier, Jen has kept a relatively low profile in the days since news of her marriage went public. But she did give one revealing interview. 6. Matt’s Past Naturally, Jen was asked about Matt’s long history of shady behavior. Surprisingly, she says she doesn’t care what he did before… View Slideshow
For the past week, rumors that Farrah Abraham is pregnant have been circulating non-stop on social media. Part of the reason that the unconfirmed reports refuse to go away is that Farrah’s number one coattail-rider, Simon Saran, insists on dropping hints that he and Farrah are expecting a child. So far, he’s favored relatively subtle methods, such as posting photos in which it looks like Farrah might be sporting a baby bump , but today he decided to kick it up several notches: Asked by Radar Online if Farrah is knocked up , Simon responded, “Yes, she’s 26 and pregnant.” Now, before you get too excited/devastated about the prospect of Abraham welcoming a second child, you should know that Simon has a unique sense of humor. And by “unique,” we mean bad, unfunny, and just generally very lame. Radar notes that Saran’s comment was “perhaps joking” when he made the remark. You might be asking yourself, how is it possible for such a straightforward statement to be a joke? That’s a good and difficult question that we feel qualified to answer, having endured the arduous task of scrolling through Simon’s Twitter page. You see, Saran thinks any word play-ish reference to the titles of Farrah’s reality shows is absolutely fall-down HIGH-larious. So when he says she’s “26 and pregnant,” that’s not necessarily his way of confirming that she’s actually pregnant. You have to imagine Simon nudging you in the ribs and saying, “Ya know? Like 16 and Pregnant !” It’s best to politely chuckle and hope that he’ll go away. The statement contradicts Simon’s earlier remarks on the subject, in which he blamed Farrah’s “baby bump photos” on … Dr. Pepper? Yeah, we don’t get it either. “She’s not pregnant. I believe she had too much Dr. Pepper to drink for breakfast that left her looking bloated,” he told Radar last week. Erm … is Dr. Pepper for breakfast, like, a pop-culture reference that went over our heads, or something? More likely, Simon is just batting .1000 with the nonsensical jokes lately and enjoying every second of the attention that comes with his ex-girlfriend possibly being pregnant. While a couple of Bachelor in Paradise contestants have spoken out about what they did and did not witness on the set prior to production being shut down, it looks like others are keeping mum. Robby Hayes announced that he has no comment in perhaps the most tasteless way imaginable, and he’s getting major backlash for it online. “What happens in paradise, stays in paradise,” he tweeted, adding the hashtags “NoComment” and “BIP4.” Dude … given speculation about what happened, that reads like a borderline rape joke . Not cool. It would be a fine response if people were asking who drank the most or whether there was an orgy or about basically anything else but what sounds like a sexual assault . But because people are very much talking about sexual assault, there is no excuse for appropriating the Vegas slogan for this. Maybe he’s just thinking of this as a scenario of cheating — Corinne does have a real life boyfriend now, after all — and not wanting to tattle. But nobody shuts down production because somebody stepped out on their significant other, or we wouldn’t have reality television at all. And heck, if Robby was there, maybe from what he saw things didn’t look that serious. But Robby should know that people are talking about consent and sexual assault, and he shouldn’t have such a lighthearted tone about it. Especially if he isn’t going to “clear things up” or whatever. Have some class, dude. There’s only so much that we know so far, but allegedly Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson began hooking up in a pool after spending all day drinking. There was reportedly a lot of touching and even some fingering, with DeMario engaging in some genital-licking. And according to (mixed) reports, it’s been sounding like they were encouraged, possibly every step of the way, by producers. What raises the most red flags is that, while DeMario remembers the encounter, Corinne does not. And while sometimes that sort of thing just happens, we can’t imagine a network pulling the plug on an entire season so suddenly — and expensively — unless they worry that something truly awful has happened. So far, no one is seriously accusing DeMario or Corinne of any wrongdoing. And that includes Corinne not blaming DeMario — they were both super intoxicated. It’s been sounding like, at the bare minimum, the producers and crew should have intervened and ushered them back to their respective rooms. Honestly, even if they’d been sober, there’s so much of even a blurred sexual encounter that they could have gotten away with airing. But when intoxication is a factor, consent is not, and any responsible bystander should have separated the two until they slept it off. Some of the contestants, Robby included, must feel frustrated over being sent home. Some might even blame their pool-partying costars. But there have been suggestions that the producers wanted something like this to happen, believing that the hookup would lead to higher ratings. Corinne Olympios’ wild reputation would make her the perfect character for them to steer into thotting it up in the pool, right? If that’s really what happened, then not only is it shameful — we’d say that getting two people drunk so that they’ll bang on camera is every bit as vile as getting them drunk so that they’ll bang you — but it backfired spectacularly. Because it sounds like there’s basically zero chance of this season of Bachelor in Paradise happening. As for what happened … we may not ever know the whole story, but for any investigators involved, we’re sure that the cameras caught plenty of evidence . Honestly, we’d love to find out that this is just a minor sex scandal with no foul play and maybe just a producer who misunderstood the situation and freaked out a little. And if that’s the case, Robby Hayes’ tweet would almost be justified. But it would still be a tone-deaf response, given that fans have heard that the situation is worse than that, and that the outcome is far from certain. Robby needs to get his act together and be less flippant if he wants fans to put up with him enough to continue his reality career. End rant. Has there ever been a reality show personality as sketchy as Matt Baier? Well, Josh Duggar exists , so yes, some reality stars are definitely worse than Matt, but still he’s pretty awful. He’s a deadbeat dad to a still undetermined amount of kids, he’s been manipulative and mean to his meal ticket/fiancée, Amber Portwood. He hasn’t had one single redeeming moment in all the time he’s been on Teen Mom OG — not one. And, as we saw in this week’s episode of the show, he refers to himself as “Daddy.” He’s a walking, talking nightmare, and we just can’t seem to wake up. You may have blocked out most of that last episode of Teen Mom because of Matt’s “Do you forgive Daddy?” line, which is fair, but the reason he needed forgiving had to do with some drugs. He had some Xanax handy for the Teen Mom press week, and he offered some to Catelynn Lowell when he saw she was starting to get anxious. Catelynn took it, Amber found out about it, and she was livid. “What happened was my buddy gave me Xanax in case Amber needed it on the plane,” Matt explained on the show. “That was it.” “She thinks, ‘You’re back on drugs.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not, I swear to God.'” “I even said to Amber, ‘If I wanted it, why would it have been in my pocket? It would have been in my stomach,'” he said. “Now there’s rumors, everybody’s talking about how Matt was f-cked up yesterday and that he’s back on drugs. She wakes me up this morning, ‘We’re not getting married. You’re a f-cking junkie.'” “I’m done with this,” Matt claimed. So there’s obviously a lot to unpack here. For one, it’s illegal to have a prescription medication that wasn’t prescribed to you, so Matt was breaking the law during that trip. Two, Amber is an addict, and prescription pills were her substance of choice — so how dumb would it be to just give her a Xanax for some travel anxiety? Three, Amber has revealed this season that she’s on a variety of meds for her bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. Mixing those meds with a random pill doesn’t seem like the best plan. Four, Matt recently admitted to relapsing on prescription pills right around the same time this footage would have been filmed, so why wouldn’t Amber think he was back on drugs? Five, why would Catelynn take a pill from Matt anyway? As for that last point, don’t worry — Catelynn herself has explained exactly what happened there. She tweeted “FYI I never took what Matt gave me like I know what it is?!? Hell no I saved that sh-t and told amber I wanted proof etc.” But on the episode, she thanked Matt, and later told him that she didn’t mean to get him in trouble with Amber. So what actually happened? Did MTV use their famous Teen Mom editing magic to make it seem like Catelynn took the pill when she actually didn’t? Or was Catelynn getting slammed for taking it and is now trying to defend herself? Also, can Matt get arrested for this? Because how great would it be if Matt got arrested for this? So many questions, and absolutely no answers. What a time to be alive. View Slideshow: Teen Mom: HOW MUCH Do The Stars Make?!
Look, Matt Baier is one of the creepiest characters to ever appear on reality television. That’s just a fact. And if there were any doubts about that, they should have all been erased after the most recent episode of Teen Mom OG . In the episode, we saw Matt accompany poor Amber Portwood to Las Vegas to see their friends get married. While they were there, they considered getting married themselves. Amber decided to call her brother, Shawn, first, and he wasn’t exactly down with the idea of his little sister getting married without her family present. She agreed, adding that it didn’t feel right to have a wedding without her daughter by her side. And Matt lost his damn mind . While speaking to Amber, he went back and forth between guilting her and comforting her when his guilt made her feel bad, but when she stepped away, he went off on a producer. Amber Portwood & Matt Baier: The Wedding is Off! He said that he would never marry Amber after she humiliated him on TV, and he even claimed she wanted to marry her brother instead of him. He also called Shawn a “f-cking f—-t,” which is just reprehensible. For the entire episode, Matt’s behavior was alarming and inexcusable, but in a shocking new interview, he admits there’s a reason for it all. Earlier this year, he relapsed. Matt, who’s said that he used to be addicted to the same things Amber was addicted to, tells People that “I had a drug relapse this year for the first time with prescription pills.” He says that for around two months he was “taking a good amount of pills and I was killing the pain,” and that things got out of control — and the Vegas trip was in the middle of that period. When he saw the episode, he says he cried, because “That person that I was watching was not me, it’s not who I am . I remember getting really upset and I felt a lot of shame.” “Also, what I said is completely not how I feel and also it didn’t make sense. I do know that I allowed myself to have my buttons pushed that day, I just don’t remember it all that well.” “They just caught me on a really bad day.” He adds that “When I saw that piece of tape I had no idea that even existed — that wasn’t me. I completely blacked out. I was selfish. I was rambling.” “I was not remembering something we had filmed just 20 minutes prior. I was in a really, really bad place.” It’s a little confusing, because he says he blacked out and doesn’t remember anything, and even at the time he couldn’t remember things that had happened minutes before. But in the episode, we see him going to a producer a while after his claims that he would never marry Amber and begging her to get the footage erased. Specifically, he urged her to offer “oral pleasures” to someone who could get rid of the footage. Also, in Monday’s aftershow, he didn’t mention the relapse at all. In that version of events, he was “95% joking,” or he was heartbroken about not being able to marry Amber right then. But anyway. Matt says that it was only a short while into his relapse before Amber figured out that something was up, and when he told her the extent of things, she advised him to “get help immediately.” “Amber is supportive, but she can be stern when it comes to stuff like this — she was pretty firm about it,” he recalls. One thing he wants to make clear is that he never took his pills when Amber’s daughter, Leah, was around because “I would never — I never did drugs around my kids.” He says that he went to a program, got sober again, and “Now I have zero desire for it.” Yikes. If all of this is true, then Amber really needs to consider moving on from him, no matter how supportive she may be. She had a very serious problem with her addiction , and it would be dangerous for her to be around this. But on the other hand, if Matt is making this story up for some reason … well, she still needs to consider moving on. Basically, just run, Amber. Run hard, run fast, and don’t look back. Back in December, the feud between Amber Portwood and Farrah Abraham came to a head when Amber’s fiance, Matt Baier, attacked Farrah’s dad during a Teen Mom: OG reunion special. The consensus among fans is that Matt was way out of line, but it seems the Abrahams shouldn’t hold their breath awaiting an apology. As you may have heard, Baier is publishing a memoir , because who wouldn’t want to read about the inspirational saga of a forty-something Teen Mom obsessive weaseling his way onto the show he loves? The book has received a lot of attention due to the baffling decision to feature a nude Baier on the cover, but we now know that what’s inside the tell-all is almost as cringe-worthy. Excerpts from Baier’s book keep popping up online, and while we assume the “leaks” are choreographed PR stunts, we’re not so sure why the book’s publishers think posting large chunks of the book online is a good idea. From what we’ve read, the horrendously-titled You Have No F–king Idea is a lot like Baier himself – by turns boring and revolting, and stuck on the idea that a tendency to over-share can serve as a substitute for a personality. The latest leaks help illuminate Matt’s beef with Farrah Abraham, aka the most confusing reality show feud of all time. Farrah is openly and objectively a bad person, so we should be on board with anyone who calls her out on her bullsh-t, but Matt is just as much of a shameless opportunist, and his trash talk mostly amounts to slut-shaming and petty name-calling: “Everybody who comes into contact with Farrah seems to have ‘victimized’ her,” her writes at one point, before blaming Teen Mom producers for the fact that he and Farrah’s boyfriend, Simon Saran, aren’t besties: “An MTV producer told Amber and I to [insult Saran],” Baier writes before adding: “He loves to hide behind his computer and talk sh-t about what a tough guy he is.” On the topic of Farrah, Matt has this to say: “Is she interesting to watch? No. She’s not some unique, polarizing figure with passionate opinions. She’s just mean.” He’s not wrong. But then, as he always does, Matt takes it too far: “Farrah is going to be a sad, wretched excuse for a former television celebrity … Her family is going to turn their backs on her.” “They’re desperate for attention and fame … Think about the future Abrahams.” Matt then takes a break from conjuring up a sad future for Farrah to claim that she’s had too much work done for him to “find her attractive” and imply that she’s lying about being raped by James Deen . Matt, you went and made us side with Farrah Abraham. And we’ll never forgive you for it. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham: A Ridiculous, Sometimes X-Rated Life in GIFs
if you watch Teen Mom online , you know that Amber Portwood’s fiance, Matt Baier, is pretty much the worst. This current season has been described as a sort of “apology tour” for Baier , but it could more accurately be called a “hey, everyone, I’m not as big of a douche as you thought!” tour. Baier seems to be making an effort to convince fans that Amber isn’t actually making the worst mistake of her life by marrying a middle-aged gold-digger who tried to bang all her co-stars with scenes like this “bonus clip” from the most recent episode: Matt Baier Plans Amber’s Surprise Party Does MTV have some stake in rescuing Baier’s reputation? Everyone who watched Teen Mom OG Season 3 Episode 5 knows that Is this clip intended to show us that Baier went to such great lengths as calling Amber’s cousin to get her out of the house for a couple hours? Did Baier complain that he didn’t receive enough credit for throwing such a “wicked pissah”? It’s possible we’ve devoted way to much though to this. In any event, many fans believe that Baier’s main goal in hosting the party was to make nice with Amber’s baby daddy, Gary Shirley. That may seem admirable, but knowing Baier, we can’t help but see the selfish motivation behind his actions. “Gary [Shirley] and Kristina are coming,” Matt tells Amber’s understandably surprised cousin at one point in the episode. “I just invited him because it’s not like he’s not a major part of our life, so I just invited him.” You may remember that Shirley was the first one to call Amber’s attention to the fact that Baier is a deadbeat dad . Seems like an odd to “just invite him” to a party for the hell of it. It also seems like the move of a guy who’s out to convince the people in his life (especially his meal-ticket, Amber) that he’s not what he appears to be: Which is of course, a conniving jerk. What makes Baier worse than Adam Lind and the other horrendous exes of the Teen Mom franchise is that he’s actually considerably smarter than them. It pains us to pay him that compliment, but then again he’s also about two decades older than his co-stars. And sadly, the guy seems to be devoting the sum total of his intellect to wriggling out of child support payments and convincing his girlfriend that he’s not his terrible as everyone says. In conclusion: trying to not look like a D-bag somehow actually makes Matt Baier look like MORE of a D-bag. We don’t quite understand it, either.

Back in March, Teen Mom: OG cast member Catelynn Lowell checked into rehab to be treated for depression and anxiety. In a recent interview, Lowell stated she's “not cured” but is doing better emotionally following extensive in-patient treatment. Catelynn's relationship with husband Tyler Baltierra is generally considered to be one of the most stable in the Teen Mom franchise. As is to be expected, Baltierra publicly and privately supported and visited his wife during her stay in an Arizona facility. So it came as a shock to many TM fans when a clip for the show's upcoming season showed Baltierra giving Lowell a hard time. Specifically, about what she's eating for dinner. The clip shows the 24-year-old Lowell revealing to Baltierra, also 24, that she's thinking about joining Weight Watchers again. Tyler is encouraging at first, but the conversation quickly turns casually ugly, as he ridicules her for the size of the meal she's eating. “That’s a big ass quesadilla, it has a lot of chicken,” Tyler says. “It’s your body, you could do what you want.” “Obviously I don’t want no heifer for a wife!” Yes, he actually said that. Kind of unreal. The conversation gets so nasty so fast that one of the show's producers – if you watch Teen Mom: OG online , you know that unlike Teen Mom 2 , OG often stylistically puts the MTV staff members on camera in a strange interplay with the cast – intervenes on Catelynn's behalf. “You come off so harsh sometimes,” the producer says. Baltierra, apparently oblivious to the seriousness of the situation, “I’m being honest! Would you want to be married to some big heifer?” NOTE: Tyler, take the lifeline next time it's offered. Baltierra and Lowell married in August of 2015, and have been the subject of many a #RelationshipGoals hashtag in the year since. They both survived difficult childhoods and unusual circumstances – they met because they are step-siblings, as fans know. Especially following the trauma of giving their first child for adoption, they've served as pillars of strength and support for one another. So hopefully this was anomalous behavior for Baltierra and not something he'll be making a habit of now that the honeymoon phase is over. Teen Mom: OG returns August 22. Here's the clip:
If viewers are wondering how Matt Baier has been dealing with the stress of knowing that everyone thinks he's a deadbeat dad, then I invite you to watch this clip teasing the August 22 premiere of Teen Mom OG . Last Season: This Season: Baier and Amber Portwood were hanging out at her friend, Krystal's house, and Baier was holding Krystal's son, Leighton. At first I just thought it was Krystal's weather-beaten gentleman friend holding Leighton, but a second look confirmed that Baier was in fact holding the infant. And not well, might I add. “What are you doing to him?” Portwood, 26, and her friend asked as they watched Baier kind of manhandle Leighton. “We're doing good,” Baier, 44, said. “Look how he's sittin,'” Krystal pointed out, visibly concerned that her son was being handled like pizza dough. “He's comfortable! Leave him alone,” Baier insisted. “Don't worry. We got this,” he said to Leighton. Then the zingers started rolling in. “Matt has enough kids, he should know,” Krystal teased. “Oh you are a piece of sh**, is what you are,” Baier laughed, happy to give it right back (you have to give him a few points for having a sense of humor). “This should be second nature,” Portwood chimed in, effectively ending this edition of “Let's Belittle Matt.” “Alright, that's good,” he said to his fiancee, indicating that she should lock it up. While Baier continued to handle the infant, Portwood talked about wanting viewers to come around to Baier. “I really want things to cool down with Matt and people's perception of him,” Portwood told Krystal. “And in all reality, I probably have a worse past than him.” Portwood confirmed to People last week that her October wedding to Baier has been canceled , and any future plans are on the back burner until they work out some unresolved issues. “There's been so much talk about me and Matt the last season,” Portwood explained. “We kind of stay a little private,” she said, conceding that “it's hard to stay private when everything is out in the open.” Portwood and Baier haven't given up on each other yet, and this coming season will see them working towards staying together forever. “You'll see us working through certain things together and you'll see us talking about marriage and what we're going to do.”
