Catelynn Lowell: I Don’t Have to Take Care of My Kid, Tyler Will Do It!

Things have been kind of weird for Teen Mom lately, huh? And by “kind of weird,” we mean 100% bananas. During the last season, a whole, whole lot of changes were made to our beloved Teen Mom OG. Since Farrah Abraham was out, they replaced her with Cheyenne Floyd , a girl from other MTV reality shows who had never been a teen mother. She had her first and only child at 24, so … that was a choice. Then, just for fun, they threw in Bristol Palin as a fifth cast member. Ryan Edwards was cut from the show , and since he was part of Maci’s story, they didn’t need to hire someone else to take his place. But he and Mackenzie Standifer did provide a huge amount of drama, so his absence was definitely noticeable. In addition to all of this, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra went from being some of the most beloved cast members to some of the most despised. And oh, what a ride that was. As we all know so well by now, Catelynn had a miscarriage in late 2017, and she began having suicidal thoughts afterwards. She decided to check into a treatment center in Arizona for six weeks to deal with everything, and Tyler fully supported her. So did the vast majority of Teen Mom viewers. But then, just a couple of weeks after coming home, she decided to go back for another six weeks. She didn’t want to consider doing therapy while staying at home, or even checking in for some inpatient treatment in their home state of Michigan. Tyler told her that he was struggling holding everything down without her, and it was clear that their daughter, Nova, was also struggling with her mom being gone for so long. She left for Arizona again anyway. That’s really when the tides began to turn. Later, we saw Tyler tell his mother that Cate had told him that she’d been skipping therapy sessions to sleep in after staying up late to watch movies, which was odd, considering how hard she’d insisted she needed the therapy. He admitted that he was losing empathy for her, and pretty much everyone watching at home was like “Yeah, same.” When she got home from that stay in rehab, she didn’t seem too interested in helping Tyler deal with his issues — issues he’d been having from dealing with his addict sister, his addict father, the miscarriage, his own traumatic upbringing … It was bad. For a while, she refused to go to therapy with him, and he grew more and more exasperated with her. Then she got pregnant . The pregnancy didn’t fix their relationship, and they ended up going through a trial separation . Now they’re back together and gearing up to welcome their baby, a daughter they’ll name Tezlee who is due in March. But still, people are not happy with her. And they just got straight up vicious on her latest Instagram post. The post itself was pretty tame — just a Boomerang of her bath water. But in her caption, she wrote “I LOVE baths. #obsessed especially with this pregnancy I take like 2-3 baths a day.” Unfortunately, not many of her followers were impressed. “No one takes 3 baths a day while pregnant,” one person wrote. “I hope you at least take one and can clean up your filthy house. And please no more kids until you can get yourself together.” “Lol 2-3 baths,” someone else commented. “Must have a lot of times on your hands.” Another person had a similar thought, writing “Wow, how nice it must be to not have a job.” The idea of having enough time to take two or three baths a day wasn’t the only issue taken with Catelynn’s post. Several people told her that baths weren’t safe so late in pregnancy — some said the water temperature wasn’t good for the baby, others said it decreased the heart rate. Her water could break and she wouldn’t know it, the water could soften the amniotic sac … We’re sure at least some of those aren’t true, but then there’s the problem of waste. “Get a grip,” yet another outraged Teen Mom fan told her. “2-3 baths a day is so water intensive and awful for the environment, set a good example for your child.” And then, of course, there were the unnecessarily nasty comments, like the ones that read “Hopefully her new baby is taken from her” and “Yuck, does your fat ass even fit in the tub?!” Last night, she began deleting some of the negative comments, and she even responded to some, explaining that she had an awesome husband who cared for their daughter so she could take her baths. But she deleted that, too, and now she’s disabled the comments on the post altogether. View Slideshow: Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra: We’ll Go for Baby #4! Does she deserve this kind of hate?!

Catelynn Lowell Confesses: I Hope My Baby Is A…

Let’s get one thing straight, right up front: Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra just want a happy and healthy baby. The veteran Teen Mom stars, who announced they were expecting a child yesterday, will be content with a newborn of any type. But Catelynn opened up to Us Weekly in the wake of her pregnancy announcement and admitted that she does have a gender preference. So does her husband. There’s no reason to pretend otherwise. “I think we both want a boy for sure, but also we have Nova,” Lowell explained , referring to the tandem’s three-year-old daughter and adding; “So it’s, like, if we’re just meant to have girls, we’re meant to have girls.” The couple also had a girl about nine years ago. She was named Carly and she was given up for adoption because Catelynn and Tyler didn’t feel ready to be parents. “It’s like Tyler just makes girls. The guys make the gender,” Catelynn adding, making an accurate reference to science. Lowell actually shared a photo of her sonogram with the aforementioned tabloid. She said she got “an early blood test called Sneak Peek,” but “I did it too early… at 10 weeks … and I guess you’re supposed to wait a little longer than 10 weeks.” A little while from now, at her upcoming upcoming 4-D ultrasound appointment, Catelynn hopes to find out the sex of her child. How exciting! The impending little human will be what is known as a “rainbow” baby because it follows a miscarriage. Both Catelynn and Tyler opened up this past February about suffering such a giant loss just a few weeks earlier, with Catelynn even entering rehab as a result to deal with bouts of depression. The couple likely would have tried for another baby at some point, but Catelynn admits that wasn’t the plan when she found out she was expecting a few weeks ago. “It was a huge shock at first,” she says. “We were not planning it, especially after the miscarriage and how I went downhill with my mental illness.” We’ve admired for a long time how candid Catelynn has been with this struggle. Tyler was taken aback by the pregnancy at first, but he’s now fully embraced the situation. “He’s obviously just as happy as I am,” Lowell told Us Weekly. “We love being parents and can’t wait for our newest addition.” Lowell’s fellow Teen Moms have not yet commented on the pregnancy or sent notes of congratulations. But we’re here to say that we’re so very happy for Catelynn and Tyler. They’ve been through more than most famous twosomes, yet they’ve never lost sight of their love for each other and have vowed throughout even the lowest of times to stick by each other’s side. Good for them. We wish Catelynn the best in her pregnancy. View Slideshow: Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2: The Complete Babies and Children Guide!

Arie Luyendyk Jr: Too Old to Be The Bachelor? Too White?

For better or for worse, Arie Luyendyk Jr. is the leading man on this upcoming season of The Bachelor , and there are some people who are very unhappy about this upcoming season. And there’s more to that frustration than wishing that someone else were starring on the show. Is Arie Luyendyk Jr. too old? Is the cast of contestants too young? Are they all (or most of them) too white? Before you say it, this isn’t just about why Peter Kraus isn’t the Bachelor . Peter’s a fan favorite and, unlike precious puppy Dean Unglert, didn’t soil his reputation on Bachelor in Paradise . Peter was an easy pick to win. But, you know, fans think they know who’ll win The Bachelor based upon names and math, so … sometimes a fan theory is really just a guess. (Hint: if you follow The Bachelor Spoilers , you have a pretty good idea of how all of this is going to end) But showrunners felt that Peter wasn’t up for it, or maybe they just wanted to surprise fans by defying their expectations. And picking Arie certainly does that. That said, the concerns that fans have over this upcoming season ( The Bachelor will be upon us so soon, you guys!) are a little less personal and a lot more important. First of all, we have to talk about race. Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette was historic, and not just because Rachel was the franchise’s first black female lead. Though that, in and of itself, was a huge deal — and many are disappointed that The Bachelor did not follow in its sister series’ footsteps. Eric Bigger isn’t quite Peter Kraus … (Even Rachel Lindsay knows that, even though she’s thrown Peter under the bus at every opportunity since her season ended) … But some fans feel that he would have made a stronger, handsomer Bachelor. (Especially with that revenge beard!) And, quite frankly, even with Arie at the helm of the show, they could have made the contestants a little more racially diverse. Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette was historically diverse. Yes, she is black, and that was an amazing and embarrassingly long overdue bit of the bare minimum amount of inclusion for the franchise. But if you look at her suitors, you notice that they were a much more diverse crowd than we’re used to seeing — on The Bachelorette or The Bachelor . Nearly half of Rachel Lindsay’s suitors were men of color. Then we look at the women competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s “rose” (or “heart” or whichever euphemism you prefer), and see that the series has taken a step backwards. Finally, we need to talk about age. Nobody likes this topic, because time is cruel and unfeeling and robs us of all capacity for pride or joy with time, but we need to address it. Arie Luyendyk Jr. is 36. His absolute oldest contestant this season is 33. A 3-year age difference barely matters in college and is a blink of an eye when both people are in their thirties. Most of the women are in their mid-to-late 20s. There are a couple of women who are 23. And scuttlebutt is that Rebekah, whose age was conspicuously absent from early reports, may be as young as 22. Of course, people have whined about recent Bachelors being “too young,” allegedly wanting to increase their social media visibility instead of genuinely looking for love. (As if anyone believes that Arie’s here for love) All of these criticisms make sense. Diversity matters. Reasonable age ranges matter. But we have to wonder if The Bachelor is preparing to pivot. Perhaps their next leading man will be a 26-year-old man of color, and Arie is just the dull build-up to a groundbreaking 2019 season. In the mean time, take a look at Arie’s prospective mates, and decide for yourself if, beautiful though they all are as individuals, the make-up of the overall cast leans a little too young and  white . Tyler Baltierra to Catelynn Lowell: Please Come Home Soon!

Last month,  Catelynn Lowell checked into rehab  after publicly revealing that she’d been battling suicidal thoughts and severe depression. Lowell has remained at the faciity ever since, and while she’s been unable to update her many social media followers, her husband, Tyler Baltierra, assures fans that she’s making steady progress and hopes to be home soon. “My wife is incredibly strong & courageous,” Tyler tweeted earlier this week. “She inspires me to just be a better human being all around & I’m so honored to share my life with such a selfless soul. I love her so much & can’t wait for her to be home.” He added the hashtag” #CatelynnStrong,” which Teen Mom: OG fans have been using to discuss their own battles with mental illness and the strength that they’ve gained from seeing Lowell be so candid about her struggles. The weeks since Catelynn checked into treatment have not been without their fair share of drama, but thankfully, Lowell has been shielded from it for the sake of her mental health. Just this week, Catelynn’s cast mate Farrah Abraham attacked her on Twitter, claiming that she still smokes pot regularly (despite her claims to the contrary) and that Baltierra is secretly gay . Tyler dealt with the situation himself on Twitter. “Well today I thought of every way to kill myself.. so I’m going to treatment #makeChesterProud @TalindaB #KeepTalkingMH #thiswontlast,” Catelynn tweeted just prior to entering treatment back in November. She referenced the late Linkin Park Chester Bennington, who took his own life  in July, and tagged the Linkin Park singer’s wife, Talinda. “I’m taking the time I need right now to take care of myself for good,” Lowell told Us Weekly in a statement issued later that day. “On November 17th I thought of every possible way to commit suicide … From wrapping a belt around my neck to just running my car into an electric pole. “THANK GOD I have a support system and a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER … thank god I am self-aware,” she added. “I’m seeking treatment and I WILL get better … anyone feeling alone you ARE NOT ALONE! This world needs all of us! We are all here for a reason … Thank you for your support during this tough time.” There’s no word yet on when Catelynn will receive treatment, but Baltierra says her treatment has been going smoothly, and  “We’ve been in Arizona for the past 2 weeks visiting her every Sunday,” Tyler recently wrote on Instagram. “I have taken a break from everything & chose to really take this time for me and Nova … Without her mom around, she needs me & my devoted attention. Family always comes first!” Here’s hoping Catelynn continues to receive the love and support she needs. Watch Teen Mom: OG online for more on Lowell’s valiant struggle. Catelynn Lowell: I Never Took Any Drugs from Matt Baier!

Has there ever been a reality show personality as sketchy as Matt Baier? Well, Josh Duggar exists , so yes, some reality stars are definitely worse than Matt, but still he’s pretty awful. He’s a deadbeat dad to a still undetermined amount of kids, he’s been manipulative and mean to his meal ticket/fiancée, Amber Portwood. He hasn’t had one single redeeming moment in all the time he’s been on Teen Mom OG — not one. And, as we saw in this week’s episode of the show, he refers to himself as “Daddy.” He’s a walking, talking nightmare, and we just can’t seem to wake up. You may have blocked out most of that last episode of Teen Mom because of Matt’s “Do you forgive Daddy?” line, which is fair, but the reason he needed forgiving had to do with some drugs. He had some Xanax handy for the Teen Mom press week, and he offered some to Catelynn Lowell when he saw she was starting to get anxious. Catelynn took it, Amber found out about it, and she was livid. “What happened was my buddy gave me Xanax in case Amber needed it on the plane,” Matt explained on the show. “That was it.” “She thinks, ‘You’re back on drugs.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not, I swear to God.'” “I even said to Amber, ‘If I wanted it, why would it have been in my pocket? It would have been in my stomach,'” he said. “Now there’s rumors, everybody’s talking about how Matt was f-cked up yesterday and that he’s back on drugs. She wakes me up this morning, ‘We’re not getting married. You’re a f-cking junkie.'” “I’m done with this,” Matt claimed. So there’s obviously a lot to unpack here. For one, it’s illegal to have a prescription medication that wasn’t prescribed to you, so Matt was breaking the law during that trip. Two, Amber is an addict, and prescription pills were her substance of choice — so how dumb would it be to just give her a Xanax for some travel anxiety? Three, Amber has revealed this season that she’s on a variety of meds for her bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. Mixing those meds with a random pill doesn’t seem like the best plan. Four, Matt recently admitted to relapsing on prescription pills right around the same time this footage would have been filmed, so why wouldn’t Amber think he was back on drugs? Five, why would Catelynn take a pill from Matt anyway? As for that last point, don’t worry — Catelynn herself has explained exactly what happened there. She tweeted “FYI I never took what Matt gave me like I know what it is?!? Hell no I saved that sh-t and told amber I wanted proof etc.” But on the episode, she thanked Matt, and later told him that she didn’t mean to get him in trouble with Amber. So what actually happened? Did MTV use their famous Teen Mom editing magic to make it seem like Catelynn took the pill when she actually didn’t? Or was Catelynn getting slammed for taking it and is now trying to defend herself? Also, can Matt get arrested for this? Because how great would it be if Matt got arrested for this? So many questions, and absolutely no answers. What a time to be alive. View Slideshow: Teen Mom: HOW MUCH Do The Stars Make?!

Catelynn Lowell: I Feel Guilty for Giving Up My Daughter!

Why does Teen Mom insist on constantly breaking our hearts? To be fair, the show usually has a good balance of heartbreaking content and pure reality show trash , so we guess we’ll get it a pass. But it seems like lately, Teen Mom OG has just been serving up tragic situation after tragic situation, and we need a break. The most recent episode showed Maci Bookout seriously concerned over an unnamed issue with her ex, Ryan Edwards, and we also saw Amber Portwood  in a very sketchy situation with Matt Baier at a Vegas wedding chapel. In the first sneak peek for Monday night’s episode, Amber was upset again, this time over the death of her father. And now, in a brand new clip from tomorrow’s show, we’re seeing the moms get real about postpartum depression. Amber, Maci, and Catelynn Lowell are still in Puerto Rico will their respective guys, Matt, Taylor McKinney, and Tyler Baltierra, doing some grilling and drinking some beers. They marvel about being on a vacation without kids, and Catelynn comments that one day, she’ll have more children . She and Tyler, of course, are parents to little Nova, and they also had another child, Carly, that they placed for adoption. Maci advises her to have all the kids she wants now to “get it over with,” but Tyler comes back with “Yeah, but listen, postpartum is like …” Well, we’re not sure exactly what he said because it was too heavily censored, but it’s clear he doesn’t have the warmest feelings for it. During the last season of Teen Mom OG, we saw Catelynn suffering from postpartum depression , so much that she had to go away to a rehab facility. It’s clear that she still struggles with it, even now. Maci reveals that she shared Catelynn’s struggle after she gave birth to her daughter, Jayde, but it was easier for her once she realized it was normal. Tyler says that it was a little strange having Nova because “The only love we knew was for Carly, who was like, not even with us.” When Maci tells them they made the right decision in placing Carly for adoption, they agree, but things get a little tense. “It would’ve been really easy,” Catelynn begins, “I could have been super selfish and brought her home and not gave a f-ck about her future or … ’cause I just wanted her.” Tyler, who seems to know what’s coming, says “Oh lord, here it goes,” as Catelynn gets up and walks off by herself. “She gets bothered about Carly,” he explains to the others when she’s gone. “She tries to be happy, but it bothers her bad.” “She’s got a lot of guilt,” he continues. “When you’re 16, you’re so scared, you place a child, then you’re 24 and you have one that you actually raise, and you’re like ‘Wow, I could have like a seven-year-old, eight-year-old running around.'” “It just makes you question everything.” It sounds like an unbelievably difficult situation to be in, and while Catelynn has nothing to feel guilty about, it’s definitely understandable for her to be upset. Way to bring the tears yet again, Teen Mom. View Slideshow: Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2: The Complete Babies and Children Guide!

Kendall Jenner Pepsi Ad: PULLED Following Controversy!

Well, we suppose this was inevitable. Yesterday, social media lost its collective mind over Pepsi’s attempt to cash in on the nation’s current socio-political strife with a commercial in which Kendall Jenner heals America’s ills by handing a cop a cold can of carbonated sugar water. If that sounds like an exaggeration, check out the ad for yourself … Kendall Jenner: SLAMMED For Tone Deaf Pepsi Commercial … it might be your last chance, as Pepsi announced today that in response to growing controversy , the ad will be pulled from its marketing rotation. The company issued the following statement moments ago: “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace, and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize.” (“Ya think?!” Twitter could be heard responding in unison.) The statement continued: “We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.” The only one who should be apologizing to Kendall is her agent for not tossing the script for this tone-deaf piece of performative wokeness in the trash, then tossing the trash can out the window. If you don’t want have the three minutes to spare, or just want to save yourself the pain of watching a soda company try and fail to impress you with its social consciousness, here’s a rundown: Blonde Kendall is modeling when she sees a protest going on and decides to revert back to brunette #WokeBae Kendall and join the resistance. The protesters instantly recognize her #WokeBae-ness and are happy to have her. But what about the cops? Surely, they can’t be happy about this celebrity riling up the crowd, right? Ha! Don’t underestimate the power of #WokeBae Kendall. She cracks a cold Pepsi, and suddenly, the cops are … down with the cause? We’re not really sure. The ending is just one of the many things about this ad that’s confusing as hell, but the contrasting images above circulated on social media and help to underscore what so many found offensive about the spot. Initially, Pepsi went into damage control mode, releasing a statement reading: “This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey.” Wisely, they since decided to change course. Curiously, Kendall has yet to speak out on the controversy at all. Somewhere, we’re sure Caitlyn Jenner is assuring her that none of this would have happened if Ted Cruz had gotten elected . Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra Respond to Backlash Over Fake Pregnancy Joke: Get a Sense of Humor, People!

Earlier today, we reported on one of the stranger Teen Mom social media controversies in recent memory. It all began when Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra began discussing their desire to have a third child on Twitter. It’s anyone’s guess as to why a married couple would need to have such a conversation on social media rather than, ya know, face-to-face, but while the parental figures of the Teen Mom franchise love ’em some free publicity, we doubt the Baltierras expected this : Things started out innocently enough, with Catelynn tweeting: “Wahhh I’m ready for another baby @TylerBaltierra.” Tyler (or T-Balz, as we like to call him) wrote back, “Me too babe.” That’s when Catelynn made the (arguably unfortunate) decision to tweet the following photo: She captioned the image: “Proud to announce a new baby Baltierra @tylerbaltierramtv.” Clearly it was a joke, but if you’ve looked at a calendar recently, you know that it’s 2017, and 2017 is the year in which everyone gets pissed off about everything. A number of fans didn’t think the joke was funny for a number of reasons. Some thought Lowell was really pregnant and … felt let down, we guess? Others thought the joke was insensitive to those who struggled with infertility. Still others blamed Tyler and Catelynn for that Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial . Okay, we’re joking about that last part, but in all seriousness, a good number of fans were legitimately outraged, and Tyler responded by basically informing them that he’d run out of f–ks to give long, long ago: “Apparently the world can’t take jokes anymore…don’t worry #TeenMomOG will be back on the air soon so we can disappoint you some more,” Tyler tweeted. “I actually love all of those critics. The fake profile pics & repetitive insults based on the lack of creativity…they just crack me up.” Asked if he could see how some might have thought the joke was insensitive, Tyler responded: “Yes, I’m the lowest piece of s–t, insensitive, entitled, asshole & a sorry excuse of a human being & I shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce.” Man, when that guy does sarcasm, he does sarcasm . For her part, Catelynn responded in a very different and much, much more confusing way: “Why don’t u just go back to ur real family?” she tweeted. “Not like we have mattered anyways.. to u it’s just the thought that mattered” Uh … we really have no idea as to what that might mean. We’re thinking Catelynn meant to subtweet someone, but instead she just tossed that bad boy out there with no context. Of course, we think it’s safe to say she wasn’t in a great mood when she wrote it, so you can be sure it will lead to more rumors about Catelynn and Tyler getting divorced . This has been Teen Mom Twitter Theater. Tune in the next time something pops off, which should be in 20 minutes or so.

Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra: Showing Signs Their Marriage Is in Trouble?

Last month, reports that Tyler Baltierra was cheating on Catelynn Lowell began to circulate on social media. Sometimes, it’s difficult to determine the starting point of such rumors, but in this case it all started with Tyler himself. Baltierra joked that he and Catelynn cheat on each other , but since sarcasm goes over on the Internet about as well as climate science at a Trump rally, the remark was not well received. Fans either missed the joke or accused him of being insensitive for making it. The former group apparently thought that Baltierra actually chose to first come clean about his own infidelity and then accuse his wife of cheating – all on Twitter. The latter group understands that Tyler is joking, but thinks it’s insensitive, considering Catelynn recently left rehab after being treated for various emotional and psychological issues. Yes, they’re actually telling him what sort of jokes he’s allowed to make with his wife. Anyway, both groups are now scrutinizing the couple’s every move in search of signs of trouble, and they believe they’ve found one in this Instagram photo uploaded today by Amber Portwood: As you can see, the Baltierras aren’t posed quite as affectionately as the other couples. Naturally, the Dr. Phil/Sherlock Holmes hybrids of the Internet took it upon themselves to offer some unsolicited couples counseling based on this single image: “Weird Tyler doesn’t touch his wife,” one fan commented . “It’s sad really. He seems like, ‘I’m stuck with her’ attitude lately,” wrote another. Some fans claimed their beliefe that Tyler and Catelynn are headed for divorce was based not only on this photo, but also on their recent social media interactions. Again, we can’t stress enough that the exchanged fans went nuts over were clearly made in jest. Here’s a sample quote from Tyler: “Well it goes both ways. Sometimes I booze while she cheats, sometimes she’ll booze while I cheat. It just depends on the day of the week.” That’s not a tweet from a guy who’s marriage is in trouble. That’s a tweet from a guy who’s having some fun f–king with fans. We can’t say we blame him. Watch Teen Mom online at TV Fanatic to relive all the ups and downs of the Baltierras’ marriage. Just maybe keep your psychological insights to yourself.
