Casey Anthony to Leave U.S. For Costa Rica?

Casey Anthony wants to leave Florida as soon as legally possible and is eyeing a move to the central American paradise of Costa Rica, according to reports. Anthony has been in hiding since she was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, but has recently been making forays back into the public. Virtually unrecognizable due to the amount of weight she has gained sitting around doing nothing, she is soon planning on leaving the U.S., and for good. She would have fled already, but Anthony is on probation for one year after pleading guilty to check fraud and is required to live in Florida during that time. Once Casey’s probation ends later this summer, she plans on ditching the sunshine state for Costa Rica. She is “counting the days,” according to sources. “She has been researching countries that she could move to and Costa Rica is at the top of the list,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online . “Casey wants to live in a tropical setting and the cost of living is extremely low in Costa Rica. She wants to put as much distance as possible from Florida.” “She feels this is the best possibly place to start a new life. Costa Rica also appeals to her because Americans are warmly embraced by the locals.” Not sure that applies to accused child-murderers, but whatever. There’s one additional holdup, of course. She is still being sued by Zanaida Gonzalez for defamation after Casey said a woman with that name kidnapped Caylee. According to reports, Casey Anthony is “annoyed” and dreading that she has to testify at the upcoming trial, even if she can blame only herself.

Miley Cyrus Takes Anti-Homophobia Stance on Twitter

One of Hollywood’s most outspoken supporters of gay marriage and LGBT equality, Miley Cyrus has taken to Twitter to once again stand up for this important cause. Cyrus – who actually wrote an editorial on the issue and also has a tattoo that expresses her beliefs – posted a photo on the social network yesterday that includes a close-up of her “favorite accessory of the day.” Along with this button, Miley included the hashtag #stopspreadinhate . Love Miley or hate Miley – and THG has certainly taken issue with some of her wardrobe choices and transparent attempts to break free from her Hannah Montana persona – you’ve gotta admire a celebrity for taking a controversial stand. Cyrus also did so last month when she said parents ought to talk to their kids about sex .

Mary J. Blige, Jessie J On What Makes A ‘VH1 Diva’

‘I think it’s someone that’s strong in their beliefs,’ Dolly Parton tells MTV News before show, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT tonight on VH1. By Jocelyn Vena Mary J. Blige Photo: Getty Images NEW YORK — On Sunday night, some of the music industry’s biggest divas gathered at Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan to pay tribute to some of the most-soulful divas in the biz for “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul.” Kelly Clarkson, Florence Welch, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J and Jill Scott all put their new-millennium spin on classics from cities like Detroit, Chicago, London, Philadelphia and Memphis, Tennessee. “I don’t even know what a diva is,” Dolly Parton told MTV News on the red carpet before the big show kicked off. “I think it’s someone that’s strong in their beliefs, strong in their own talent, strong in who they are. … I see a lot of divas around here, and some say I am one, and I don’t know if that’s true or not,” she joked. “Do you think I’m a diva?” Jessie J waxed poetic about the title “diva.” “Sometimes the media can completely misunderstand what the word ‘diva’ means,” she said. “To me, tonight is what it’s about, and every single person’s that been here that’s had longevity, passion, consistent, amazing music that goes around the globe. For me to be a part of it in any way is incredible.” The show recalled some of the greatest hits from divas present, past and future. And it even took time to fondly remember the late Amy Winehouse, whose own music was so deeply inspired by soul music of days past. “She’s in a class by herself,” Mary J. Blige said. “She just broke the mold when she came out; it was like, ‘Wow, who is this?’ And I could hear all of the pain before I even knew she had pain.” While every diva at the show, which airs Monday night (December 19) on VH1, has played a pivotal role in pop music, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy doesn’t believe that many will be as influential as Winehouse. “I don’t think there’s gonna be another voice that cut through the way her voice cut through,” he said. “And I think that alone makes her a legend.” Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine , one of the performers during the tribute, summed up Winehouse: “She was the most incredible artist, and I feel kind of overwhelmed to be doing it,” she said. She later took the stage with Nas, Wanda Jackson and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings to remember Winehouse’s catalogue of music. “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT tonight on VH1. Colmes Blogger: America ‘Riddled with Religion,’ Churches’ ‘Free Ride’ Should End

What’s the best way to address rising debt and deficits? According to one liberal blogger, it’s not cutting spending, but taxing churches, that will solve America’s financial woes. “[Americans] should have the right to support any institution they feel supports their views,” William K. Wolfrum wrote on Alan Colmes’s  Liberaland blog  Aug. 17. “But that does not mean the State should reimburse people or churches for their beliefs.” He argued that because churches take “political stands” – opposing gay marriage or abortion, for example – they should not enjoy tax-exempt status. But, to be fair, Wolfrum appears to show no favoritism. “The most important aspect of removing tax-exempt status from churches or religious entities is that it must be all-encompassing,” he wrote. “Whether you believe a certain religion is ‘true’ or ‘false’ makes no difference. Scientology should be taxes, as should Islam. The Catholic church should be taxes, as should synagogues. There are no favorites. Whether you believe in L. Ron Hubbard, Jesus, a tree, Mother Earth or Allah, it is time for the tax man to cometh.” Wolfrum brushed aside the idea that churches provide charity services for the needy, saying such work is done “for a singular purpose – to encourage people to follow their beliefs. The more that follow those beliefs, the more money is taken in by the church or religious entity.” He complained that the “Tax God” movement would never succeed “in a nation so riddled with religion.” Even so, Wolfrum concluded, “If America is serious about reigning in its ballooning debt, taxing churches needs to be put on the table. God has gotten a free ride long enough in the United States, and it’s hurting the one true religion in America – Capitalism.”

Obama's Legit Slow Motion Catch

The Detroit/Green Bay half-time show today began with a United We Serve advertisement featuring Obama showing off his football prowess. Regardless, the clips of small children doing jumping jacks doesn't do a whole lot to discredit the beliefs that United We Serve is a foothold for Obama's socialist goals.
