19 Kids and Counting Sneak Peek: Derick Gets Ready to Propose!

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting fame recently got engaged after a courtship that included a lot of skype and no frontal hugs. Okay, they did break the courtship rules at least once. Fortunately, we know how it works out in the end. By now, they’re happily engaged and all set up with a Wal Mart wedding registry and everything. Tonight, though, we get to see it unfold on TV! While the eldest Duggar daughters are out promoting their new book, Derick makes plans to pop the question. After getting permission from Jim Bob Duggar to ask for Jill’s hand in marriage, will he be able to pull off an intricate proposal without Jill catching on? If this teaser released by TLC is any indication, we’re not sure. Guy seems more than a little nervous about this and not exactly stealthy. At all. Nice fella though. Clearly a nice fella. Watch the clip: 19 Kids and Counting Clip – Derick Gets Ready to Propose Good luck, D. Good luck. SO Many Duggars 1. A Duggar Family Pic Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are still working on that 20th kid.

Jimmy Fallon Proves No One Knows Who Ryan Lewis is in Hilarious Video!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” was one of the biggest songs of 2012, and the hip hop duo has gone on to release a string of hits and take home the Grammy for Artist of the Year. Yet, somehow, no one knows who Ryan Lewis is…at least not the people who crossed paths with the producer during the making of this sketch for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon: Jimmy Fallon: Who is Ryan Lewis? Yes, he’s not wearing any sort of disguise and he even asks people point blank if they know who Ryan Lewis is on several occasions…and still no recognition. For one dude, it’s only after Lewis holds up a freakin’ picture of himself while continuing to grill him about the identity of Ryan Lewis that the connection is made. Funny stuff. Of course, this isn’t the first time Lewis has demonstrated an admirably self-deprecating sense of humor. Back in October, Lewis and Macklemore prank-called ticket scalpers and posted the hilarious results on YouTube.  We guess people just don’t recognize hip hop producers unless they buy their clothes firsthand. Check out some other hilarious skits and interviews from Jimmy Fallon in the gallery below: 23 Hilarious Segments from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon 1. ‘American Idol’ A ‘Constant Struggle’ For Erika Van Pelt

‘I think a lot of your fate rides on what sort of light [the judges] shed on you,’ latest castoff tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Photo: FOX “American Idol” fans might still be scratching their heads as to why Erika Van Pelt was sent home on last week’s episode. With a brand-new makeover , the singer took on Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind” and received mostly positive feedback from the judges, so when she was eliminated, it not only shocked fans, but Van Pelt as well. “I’ve been in the bottom [for] four consecutive weeks. I wasn’t surprised at that. Getting eliminated, I felt a little robbed, I can’t lie,” she told MTV News on Monday (March 26). “Everything happens for a reason.” Looking back at her time on “Idol,” Van Pelt said she felt “confused” by the judges’ remarks , especially for her latest performance, and feels that their changing critiques may have swayed voters. “I think a lot of your fate rides on what sort of light [the judges] shed on you,” Van Pelt said. “For me, I was doing ‘New York State of Mind,’ which is a ballad, and every time Billy Joel has ever performed it, he’s been sitting behind a piano, he’s not dancing around, and [Jennifer Lopez] made some comments about me planting my feet. I just wasn’t feeling it. I don’t feel like I need to jump around to sing. There are a few other contestants on the show that do nothing but stand there and sing, and they don’t say anything to them. [At] the very least, they get standing O’s, and they like that. I just felt it was a constant struggle for me.” Yet Van Pelt doesn’t feel like she was the only contestant receiving contradicting feedback week after week. “There are a lot of really great performers,” Van Pelt said. “Even my personal favorites have gotten some really sort of questionable feedback. I thought their performances were great, and they’d get slammed by the judges. It’s a weird thing. I feel like you never really know.” This summer, Van Pelt will join the other top 10 contestants on tour, where she said she will finally be able to show fans who she really is. “I felt like I was kind of kept in a box a little bit,” Van Pelt said of her time on “Idol.” “It’s just reality, just the structure of the show didn’t allow me to show who I really am as an artist. I have a lot of facets, and I’ve felt like they may have pegged me as this one thing and pushed me in that one direction, but I got a lot going on.” Were you surprised Erika was eliminated? Erika Van Pelt Sent Home On ‘American Idol’

DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun Han join Van Pelt in bottom three. By Adam Graham Erika Van Pelt and Ryan Seacrest on “American Idol” Photo: Fox Erika Van Pelt debuted a dramatic new look on Wednesday’s episode of “American Idol,” but it wasn’t enough to save her in the competition as the 26-year-old Rhode Islander was sent packing on Thursday’s (March 22) “Idol.” Van Pelt made it into the finals as a wild-card choice and consistently found herself facing elimination. This week she chopped off her blond locks and revealed a sleek, short black ‘do and received strong marks for her version of Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind.” But it wasn’t enough for viewers, apparently, as she landed at the bottom of America’s votes. She sang “I Believe in You and Me” for the judges to try to get them to use their save on her, but they let her go with a swift “no,” delivered by Randy Jackson. (As if the pain of elimination isn’t tough enough, Van Pelt now has to go back and explain to her New England friends what she was doing singing “New York State of Mind.” Good luck with that one.) Van Pelt found herself in the bottom three alongside DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun Han. Brackensick was released to safety first and was followed by Han. Han was on the receiving end of some stinging criticism from mentor Jimmy Iovine following his goofball performance Wednesday night of Billy Joel’s “My Life.” “He came out and disrespected the entire process. His performance was more like four minutes of a bad Adam Sandler movie that goes straight to DVD,” Iovine said of Han’s campy take on the song, calling it a “stunt gone wrong.” “At the end of the day, Interscope has to spend a lot of money on somebody who wins this show, and that’s not it.” Han defended himself by saying, “I’m not trying to be a star; I’m just really happy where I am.” Elsewhere on the show, in a surprise birthday tribute to Steven Tyler, his Aerosmith cohort Joe Perry came out and played “Happy Birthday” for him, backed by the Idols. Tyler turns 64 on Monday. Also, controversy magnet Lana Del Rey performed her hit single “Video Games,” complete with a closing confetti shower, and season 10 third-place finisher Haley Reinhart returned to the “Idol” stage to perform her new single “Free.” What did you think about “Idol” on Thursday? Was it time for Van Pelt to go? Let us know in the comments! Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Kirsten Haglund, Miss America 2008, Details Lifelong Battle With Anorexia

Kirsten Haglund was crowned Miss America back in 2008, but she was hardly the vision of health and happiness she appeared to be, by her own admission. The blonde beauty has suffered from severe anorexia-nervosa most of her life. The Michigan native, 23, has opened up to CNN about the shocking details of her illness, which she says began to take its toll when she was only 12. Haglund says she picked up bad habits from other aspiring ballet dancers. “I was in ballet from just 3-years-old. So from a very early age, the ideal female body type was very thin,” Haglund says. “That was the first image I had.” “I always equated beauty with being skinny. I looked at what they were doing and so many of them were throwing away their lunches and not eating.” “I thought, ‘If I can at least be thin, I know I can be successful at ballet.’” “I was living off coffee, Diet Coke and gum,” she said about her diet. “Every once in a while, I’d have vegetables, fruit or a spoonful of peanut butter.” “I knew there was something wrong , but I didn’t know how to stop.” Her disease continued to worsen, and in the next three years, Kirsten dropped over 30 more pounds before her mother intervened and got her help. After quitting ballet and focusing on recovery, she decided to enter a local beauty pageant – something that ironically helped her cope with the issue. “It was a really good educational period for me,” she said. “From hearing other people’s stories, I learned how to share my own personal struggles.” The stunner has since started the Kirsten Haglund Foundation, a charity that provides financial aid to people seeking treatment for eating disorders. She is currently a political science major at Emory University. [Photo: WENN.com]

This American Idol contestant covered the Billy Joel single “Shameless” and really embraced her country twang on the track, starting slow and picking up the pace to eventually finish with one of the more authentic performances of the evening. Lindsay Lohan: Live Without Regrets!

Lindsay Lohan’s new tattoo suggests she’s ready to live without regrets. Seriously, that’s what it says. Live without regrets . Just a few months ago, Lohan had Billy Joel lyrics – “clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife, I feel like I’m in the prime of my life” – tattooed on her rib cage. The new ink is much smaller and appears on the celebrity’s left wrist. Yay. LiLo had the work done on Friday night, sources say. The impetus for the new tattoo, supposedly, is that Lindsay’s at a great point in her life … and she wanted to do something she’d always remember.
