Amy Schumer: Arrested for Protest of Brett Kavanaugh

Amy Schumer did a lot more than just talk the talk in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. Or yell the yell, as the case may have been. The comedian, along with a handful of others, got detained and seemingly arrested while protesting the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for one of nine seats on the U.S. Supreme Court. In a video that is making its way around the Internet, the 37-year-old is being led by a police officer toward a large group of protestors that were also being held while at the Hart Senate Office Building on Thursday. “You want to be arrested?” a cops asks Schumer and another woman as he points in the direction of a bigger group that is chanting with officers surrounding them. “Yes,” she replied. As you can see below, Schumer was wearing a green button-down shirt that read “This Today then #ERA” while attending the political event. Emily Ratajkowski was also arrested on Thursday, although we actually are not certain why just yet. Probably for disturbing the peace or trespassing. The mass protests in the nation’s capital this week were in reaction to the FBI concluding its investigation, which was launched after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified last week about her sexual misconduct allegation against Kavanaugh. Many familiar with the investigation believe it was severely limited in scope, as neither Kavanaugh nor Ford were interviewed by authorities. Neither were many witnesses who tried to contact the FBI in order to support Kavanaugh’s version of events. (She alleges that Kavanaugh held her down on a bed and tried to rape her during a small gathering in high school.) Tweeted Ratajkowski shortly her arrest: “Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.” It’s seeming more and more likely, however, that such a statement will not hold true in the case of Kavanaugh, who is expected to be confirmed to the highest court in the land this weekend. Schumer also carried a sign that read throughout her protest that read “We Believe Anita Hill,” a reference to the woman who accused now-Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in 1991. In a Twitter video shared by Young People For, Schumer can be seen giving a speech to those gathered in support of Kavanaugh and sexual assault victims everywhere. “Let’s stay together, let’s fight. Let’s keep showing up!” the star said to people cheering. Three women have come out and alleged that Kavanaugh acted in a very inappropriate manner with them, from Ford’s accusation of assault … to another woman claiming he pulled out his penis directly in front of her face… to another woman saying Kavanaugh was present while she was gang raped . As mentioned above, the protests took place as senators are preparing to submit their votes on Kavanaugh’s confirmation to Supreme Court justice. An initial vote of the Senate is scheduled for Friday, and a final vote will come over the weekend, according to USA Today and other reliable outlets.

Real Friends: Two Of Brett Kavanaugh’s Former College Friends Accuse Him Of Committing Perjury During His Testimony [Video]

SplashNews.com Two Of Brett Kavanaugh’s College Friends Accused Him Of Committing Perjury Two of Brett Kavanaugh’s old college friends (Liz Swisher and Lynne Brookes) accused him of committing perjury during his testimony for the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kavanaugh, who’s being accused of sexually assaulting at least three women, claimed he barely drank alcohol in college during his hearing, but his former friends determined that was a lie. “I was appalled. He was clearly lying and it was incredibly disturbing to see somebody perjuring themselves who’s in line to be a Supreme Court justice,” said Swisher, who was roommates with one of Kavanaugh’s accusers. One of his accusers backed the claim by adding, “The reason that I decided to speak out was when he gave the Fox News interview and as I said in The Washington Post tried to paint himself as a choir boy where all he did was study and play sports and every once in awhile he would have a beer and that simply not consistent with the Brett Kavanaugh that I knew in college.”

Big Brother Recap: Two Evictions Rock the House!

Julie Chen returned to CBS Thursday night, and got ready to evict two houseguests, but what did she say about Les Moonves? Double eviction episodes of the reality series are generally the most dramatic, but the biggest source of drama came from the final few moments when the host paid a stunning tribute to her embattled husband, Les Moonves.  “I’m Julie Chen Moonves. Goodnight,” she said to audiences as the second evictee of the night sat next to her.  Julie does not typically say “Moonves” on the series, usually referring to herself simply as “Julie Chen,” so it was immediately evident it was a message of support for her husband, who was fired by the network earlier this week.  As for what went down in the world of Big Brother, let’s get to it.  Sam and Haleigh were still on the block to be evicted from the house. Everyone at home knew fine well that Haleigh was going out.  But how did the votes pan out? Tyler votes to evict: Haleigh JC votes to evict: Haleigh Brett votes to evict: Haleigh Angela votes to evict: Haleigh Haleigh was evicted!  We then moved on to the HOH competition. It was the booth-style one with the houseguests answering questions based on video clips shown to the house.  Round 1: Sam & Tyler get a point Round 2: JC gets a point Round 3: Tyler & Brett get a point Round 4: JC, Sam, Tyler, & Brett get a point Round 5: Sam, Tyler, Angela, & Brett get a point Round 6: Everyone gets a point Round 7: Sam, Tyler, & Angela get a point Tyler won the HOH competition and immediately got to work to pick who he was evicting. He held one-on-one meetings and told Brett to throw the POV because he was going to make a big move.  He moved on to nominate Sam and JC for eviction. Neither was impressed, but Tyler had a much bigger plan to play.  Angela won the power of veto, and she immediately met the others one by one. Tyler told her to use the veto on JC and that he would nominate Brett to be sent home.  It’s not often a plan comes together in Big Brother, but it Angela, Tyler, and Kaycee got their wish and Brett was put on the block in JC’s place.  JC votes to evict: Brett Kaycee votes to evict: Brett Angela votes to evict: Brett Brett was sent out of the door by a vote of 3-0! He was blindsided but admitted to Julie that he respected that it was a game move. Now he has to go to the jury house and explain to Haleigh why Angela and Kaycee’s exit speeches threw him under the bus.  With less than two weeks left, Julie dished that there will be evictions on Wednesday and Thursday next week.  What are your thoughts on all the latest? Big Brother Recap: Did Haleigh Manage to Save Bayleigh?

Another eviction rocked the house on Thursday, and for the first time in a good few years, all the drama came in the lead up to the eviction.  We picked up right after the veto meeting, and Bayleigh was furious that she had been wrongfully outed as the hacker.  She made her way into the bedroom to start packing her belongings, presumably because she knew there was a bigger plan in play, and that she was going to be taken out of the game.  After that, she confronted Tyler and said that she trusted him and now she’s on the block. Tyler wanted to steer clear of her, however.  Bayleigh was blindsided. She opened up about wanting to keep her power for another week out of respect for Angela. She liked her as a person but felt like she stuck the knife in at the first opportunity.  Haleigh then felt bad about being the hacker and opened up to Bayleigh about it. Bayleigh was mad, but she respected Haleigh for trying to make a move to take out a bigger target.  Meanwhile, Angela was in the diary room acting like she was the best at the game because she managed to get Bayleigh up on the block.  She even went as far as claiming that she would jump under a bus for Tyler. Yes, that’s how sad her game has become of late.  At the house meeting, Haleigh confirmed she was the person who hacked the game and opened up about Tyler meeting with Bayleigh about getting Angela put up as the replacement nominee.  Tyler denied it, but the argument went nuclear with Tyler and Bay getting into a heated exchange that found Bay leaving the room with a burst lip.  No, we’re not saying anybody lifted their hands. Bay was shouting so much that she burst her gum with her teeth.  At the eviction, the hacker took Tyler’s ability to vote away.  Kaycee votes to evict: Bayleigh  Brett votes to evict: Bayleigh  Faysal votes to evict: Bayleigh Scottie votes to evict: Bayleigh  Haleigh votes to evict: Bayleigh  Sam votes to evict: RS JC votes to evict: Bayleigh Bayleigh was evicted by a vote of 6-1! The HOH competition was a knock-out one that allowed the winner of each round to pick the next two competitors.  Round 1: Sam vs. JC – JC gets it right Round 2: Tyler vs. RS – Tyler gets it wrong  Round 3: Kaycee vs. Brett – Kaycee gets it wrong Round 4: Haleigh vs. Faysal – Faysal gets it wrong Round 5: Brett vs. Scottie – Brett got it right Round 6: Haleigh vs. RS – Haleigh gets it right  Round 7: Brett vs. JC – Brett gets it wrong  Round 8: Haleigh vs. JC – Haleigh gets it right! Haleigh wins Head of Household! Big Brother continues Sunday on CBS! View Slideshow: Big Brother: Meet the Most Controversial Houseguests

Big Brother Recap: Did Brett or Winston Escape the Block?

Brett and Winston have been allies ever since they entered the Big Brother house three weeks ago.  In fact, they are so close that some of the houseguests have questioned whether they are in a bromance.  However, the duo sees it as more of a bromance. But all things come to an end sooner or later, and with Scottie in power, they were both put on the block.  We picked up with Winston unimpressed at the thought of sitting on the block next to Brett because it means that one of them will likely be meeting Julie Chen and chatting about what they could have done better to stay in the game.  Winston chatted with Tyler and Kaitlyn in the good old storage room to try and get some clarity on how to play Big Brother.  We kid, mostly, but he wanted to know if there was a way to save himself from the block. Kaitlyn suggested he steer clear of Brett so that everyone would think they were not a pair.  Instead, Winston headed up to the HOH room to reprimand Scottie.  “You drew a line in the sand, you’re gone next week,” Winston angrily yelled at the current HOH. You know, Scottie could win Veto and have a change of heart, but something tells us he’ll stick to his gun. Winston is a big baby. If he was in control, he would put people up without a second thought. However, he’s playing as though he’s one of the nicest people, and the cracks are starting to appear.  Winston and Rachel quickly got to work trying to find a target to replace he and Brett. Kaitlyn, as always comes up as a target and both Brett and Winston agree to win the Veto and have her put up as a replacement.  The reason? She was the swing vote to take Steve out of the house in Week One. Yes, they are still talking about that first eviction.  For the veto competition, it was Scottie, Brett, Winston, Rachel, Tyler and Rockstar. At the start of the competition, Brett took the lead, but Scottie managed to emerge with the win and even won himself a trip for two to Greece.  The boys then met up with Scottie to pitch a final three deal, but Scottie maintained that it would be too risky to change things up, but he did say he would sleep on it.  In true Kaitlyn fashion, she said that she received a vision that the boys were going after her, and Scottie told her about them throwing her under the bus.  At the veto meeting, we learned that the nominations were being kept the same. Oh yes, one of the boys is going home … unless Sam uses her power.  What are your thoughts on the latest twists and turns?
