So Tessa Thompson’s Wig In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Cost $10,000 & Twitter Can’t Deal

See the original post:

Source: Michael Tran / Getty It’s probably a well known fact that Marvel and its parent company, Disney, dish out some major cash to produce their superhero movies. But who would’ve thought they held wigs as a top priority for their films. This is the only explanation when it was revealed that Disney shelled out $10,000 for Tessa Thompson ‘s wig in Thor: Ragnarok. The director of Sorry to Bother You , Boots Riley, revealed the information in an interview with HuffPost . Tessa Thompson starred in his film as the character Detroit. However,  Sorry to Bother You ‘s shooting schedule interfered with the re-shoot schedule of Thor . Thus, Tessa had to hit up re-shoots for Thor on weekends while shooting Sorry to Bother You in Oakland during the week. The only problem is, Tessa plays Valkyrie in Thor and has long hair, while in STBY, Tessa’s character has short colorful curls. The only way Disney/Marvel knew how to fix the situation was by buying Tessa a $10k wig for Thor , according to Riley.   So Tessa’s wig is basically a national treasure and should be safely stored in a museum. A few folks on Twitter seemed to think similarly. Check out what people had to say about the $10,000 piece that could easily pay 7 months worth of rent.

Terrell Owens Explains Why He’s Skipping Hall Of Fame Ceremony

Source: Brian To/WENN.com / WENN Despite what one may have thought about some of the antics over the course of Terrell Owens ‘ football career, no one can argue that he was one of the best wide receivers to ever lace them up. Owens has famously decided to skip his upcoming Hall Of Fame induction , and explained why he’s doing so. TMZ Sports reports : We got T.O. out at Century City Mall when he revealed to us the real reason he’s doing his own thing at UT Chattanooga rather than in Ohio … saying he doesn’t feel it was right he was kept outta the Hall the past two years. “In terms of the criteria, the bylaws and what it takes for a guy to get in — when it came to me, other things came into play,” Owens says. “And for me, that doesn’t bode well for me.” Owens tell us that reporters lied about his character throughout his career … which he feels led to him being unfairly locked out of the HOF on his first two attempts. The enshrinement ceremony will take place on August 4. — Photo: WENN

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Insecure is one of those shows that you simply must. tune. into. And it looks like season 3 is going to get even spicier when it drops on August 12. In a recent interview, Issa Rae let it be known that she’s about to take it there . She told The Hollywood Reporter  the upcoming season will address toxic masculinity and adulting, so we hope everyone can handle having to take a look in the mirror. She tells the publication, “I don’t want to give anything away! But I love black masculinity as it relates to black women. I think that’s something interesting that we haven’t gotten a chance to explore yet — and specifically toxic male black masculinity as it relates to black women. I’m trying to find a way to explore that and get a rounded storyline that isn’t preachy.” Issa adds, “This season is about adulting in a new way. I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?” As for where she draws inspiration for the Insecure storyline, Issa reveals “I’m definitely mining experiences from my own life, especially for my character. And then we tap into the lives and instances and moments a bunch of our writers bring to the room, as well. I think that’s a fun part — everybody has a piece of their life in the show.” Hit THR for Issa’s full interview and get excited for her return to your living room later this summer. Michael B. Jordan Says He Specifically Seeks Out Roles Written For White Men In New Issa Rae Interview [Video]

Michael B. Jordan says that after the success of “Fruitvale Station,” he told his agents he wanted to steer clear of the lane of roles written specifically with Black actors in mind — instead actively pursuing roles seeking to cast a white actor. “I said, I don’t want it. I want to only go for, like, [roles written for] white males. That’s it. Me playing that role is going to make it what it is. I don’t want any pre-bias on the character. I wanted to go out for these roles because it was just playing people. It didn’t have to be like, ‘You’re playing the black guy in this.’ And everybody would be going out for the same role. Every young black actor from ages 17 to 40 going out for the same role. How do you reverse engineer that problem of pitted competition with each other and give more opportunities to eat and be successful?”” We feel him in his avoidance of getting typecast or taking roles with a certain view of a Black man’s experience…but seeing as how his most successful roles have been that of Adonis Creed and Erik Killmonger — two very distinctly Black characters — maybe it’s time to reconsider that stance? What do you think? Getty/Variety

Iskra Lawrence Big Girl Ass of the Day

Iskra Lawrence is a clever marketer… She saw opportunity to get the fame she always wanted and she did it in an unconventional, yet obvious, I’m onto her, kind of way.. So she was a skinny enough, aspiring model, told she was too fat in her younger egotistical years where she felt she was hot enough to be a model… Then she realized that fat was trendy, and if she polarized her fat with being real fat, but still fuckable, she could get the model work she always wanted by default….especially if she whined about how unfair modeling is, so that in some retribution, they companies come back to prove her wrong by hiring her when she’s fat… And that whole fat confidence, cuz she knows she’s doing it for money, and will eventually go skinny again, you know ride the trend, but a revolutionary, leading the revolt, lobbying for the fat chicks everywhere…is because she made herself fat on purpose to get famous… And it worked… Here she is showing off how confident she is….now that she’s making that money being a fat chick, because what it comes down to is that it was always about the fame and money and now she can do it by actively tryng to stay fat, it’s her character she created and is winning with….but it’s a lie…actual fat chicks hate themselves too much to feel empowered or to do the shit this fat chick does… The post Iskra Lawrence Big Girl Ass of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Kim Cattrall Says “Sex & The City” Should Recast Samantha With A Black Or Latino Actress Instead [Video]

Kim Cattrall is the missing piece in the ‘SATC 3’ production, rumored to be the whole reason it’s not going down. She tells Piers Morgan on his Life Stories show that she’s played Samantha past the point of necessity, and maybe Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the decision makers should think of making Samantha African American or Hispanic instead… We doubt that would play too well suddenly changing the character’s actress 20 years in…but we guess her heart’s in the right place? But why make the ethnic one the “ho friend?” Getty
