Michael B. Jordan says that after the success of “Fruitvale Station,” he told his agents he wanted to steer clear of the lane of roles written specifically with Black actors in mind — instead actively pursuing roles seeking to cast a white actor. “I said, I don’t want it. I want to only go for, like, [roles written for] white males. That’s it. Me playing that role is going to make it what it is. I don’t want any pre-bias on the character. I wanted to go out for these roles because it was just playing people. It didn’t have to be like, ‘You’re playing the black guy in this.’ And everybody would be going out for the same role. Every young black actor from ages 17 to 40 going out for the same role. How do you reverse engineer that problem of pitted competition with each other and give more opportunities to eat and be successful?”” We feel him in his avoidance of getting typecast or taking roles with a certain view of a Black man’s experience…but seeing as how his most successful roles have been that of Adonis Creed and Erik Killmonger — two very distinctly Black characters — maybe it’s time to reconsider that stance? Usher Says $20 Million Lawsuit Should Be Thrown Out Since There’s No Proof He Herped Up His Accuser

Usher Moves To Have Herpes Lawsuit Dismissed Usher is pushing to have his herpes lawsuits flamed out by the judge, claiming that the woman in question has no proof whatsoever that he was the one that lit up her genitals. Now this isn’t the infamous Quantasia case …but the one that came just before it, from another woman claiming to have had a rendezvous with Usher just earlier this year . She originally sued him for $10 million, but upped the ante to $20 mil once she hit the clinic and discovered that she indeed bore the scarlet H. According to TMZ, Usher’s legal folks are stressing that the woman’s paperwork never indicated if she had bothered to be tested for herpes anytime before her encounter with Usher. We’re assuming she was asymptomatic since it took the news breaking in the media for her to even bother to go to the doc for the bloodwork. Either way, seeing as how two-thirds of the population supposedly carry the Herpes infection, Usher says there’s a strong possibility that she already had it before laying with him last spring. OR, she may have caught it after the fact. He also calls her out for getting freaky with folks without knowing her own status or theirs in the first place, and she clearly puts herself at risk with “casual, unprotected sexual intercourse and/or oral sex.” HMMM. Usher is all but admitting that he’s got that fire with this clapback suit. Note, he didn’t say “I couldn’t have infected her because I DON’T HAVE IT,” just that if she didn’t want Herpes, she should have been more careful in general. Cold world, man. According to my sources, it was the EDC Festival is Las Vegas over the weekend, which normally doesn’t really mean too much to me, seeing as how I don’t do molly. But it’s suddenly become a pretty big deal to me and the Little Tuna this year, because apparently Bella Thorne showed up and put on a serious show. Which got me thinking: how much do you think it would cost to put on one of these things in my mom’s backyard? Because I don’t know about you perverts, but I’d love to see this live. *UPDATE* It’s Not Over: Here’s Chris Brown’s Additional Court-Ordered “Punishment” For Harassing Karrueche

Chris Brown Ordered Into Domestic Abuse Counseling Looks like the judge in Karrueche Tran’s protection order case didn’t think that simply barring Chris from bothering her any further was enough. On top of the restraining order that Chris and his team attempted to squirm out of , the judge also decided it was best that Chris routinely meet with a specialist about his issues with abusing his partners in serious relationships. According to TMZ , the judge ruled that Breezy has to complete a full year of abuse education through adherence to a 52-week batterer intervention program. Of course, in Chris’ case, these programs never seem to quite stick. He already had to complete one domestic violence counseling course after the whole Rihanna thing, and also did a stint in anger management after violating his probation in that case. And now…we’re here. Plus, seeing as how he’s currently on tour and has made it abundantly clear that he finds the accusations, the legal action and the thought that he needs to be kept away from Karrueche at all very trivial and silly …it will be interesting to see if he manages to complete the program anyway. Time will tell… **UPDATE** So apparently the judge didn’t see fit to sentence Chris to any additional counseling. A court source reported to TMZ that it boiled down to a clerical error in the paperwork. So as long as he leaves Karrueche all the way alone, things will be square with the court and Chris. Nicki posted a petty pic of her chilling with her “good good sis” Rah Ali to celebrate the launch of her new shoe venture: Which is interesting, seeing as how she made SPECIFIC reference to Rah and Remy’s friendship in her highly debated response to “shEther,” entitled no frauds. Caitlyn Jenner Reveals That Her Transition Is Complete Caitlyn Jenner is a full-on trans-woman , and she’s letting you know exactly what she’s got going on under those sensible dresses. Radar Online got their hands on an early copy of Caitlyn’s upcoming memoir, The Secrets of My Life ,and in it, she reveals once and for all that she indeed got rid of…um…the last bit of Bruce that was holding her back from womanhood. “I am telling you because I believe in candor…So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it. The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated.” Well, go ahead then, Cait . It’s somewhat interesting that she chose to go through with the “BIG” surgery, seeing as how it’s known to be a pretty tricky healing process and she’s nearly 70 years old as it is. Jenner actually acknowledged that getting the official lady bits handled was a “complex decision,” particularly due to the health risks involved with it. Suge Knight Hospitalized For Blood Clots

Suge Knight Hospitalized For Blood Clots As you probably know by now, Suge Knight has been having a rough go of it for the last couple years while he’s been in prison. Plagued by multiple health issues and even rumored blindness while facing the judge off and on in the criminal death of his former friend . Now the former Death Row exec is back in the hospital for a chronic condition that has been plaguing him for 2 years. According to TMZ , Suge has been taken to USC Medical Center for treatement for his blood clots. Apparently, Suge’s been in solitary confinement and has frequently complained that the conditions are having a negative effect on his health. He’s been in and out of the hospital several times while his trial has dragged on over the last two years. He’s in stable condition at the moment…but seeing as how he’ll likely be headed right back to solitary once he’s out of the doctors’ care, who knows how long his healthy streak will last?. Splash

Amar’e Stoudemire Backtracks On Comments About Gay Ball Players Amar’e Stoudemire is backtracking on his stance on sharing the locker room with a gay teammate this evening. As we told you earlier, Amar’e said he wouldn’t exactly welcome a gay player to the team with open arms. In fact he said if he found out one of his teammates actually did enjoy the company of men in his off time: “I’m going to shower across the street, make sure my change of clothes are around the corner and I’m going to drive… take a different route to the gym.” Well now, Amar’e is saying that folks take stuff way too seriously and clearly don’t get his sense of humor. He’s now telling TMZ that the comments he made about showering down the street and around the corner to escape the homosexual were all meant to be taken as jokes: “I want to apologize for my offensive comments against the LGBT community. These remarks were taken from a larger interview where a reporter was asking me hypothetical questions, and all my answers had a comedic undertone.” The answers I gave were meant to be taken as jokes & I am deeply sorry for offending anyone. I am open to creating a dialogue to assist the fight the LGBT community encounters daily and will continue to focus on playing basketball.” Interesting…seeing as how the interviewers asked him flat out if he was joking and he responded “There’s always a truth within a joke.” Soooo…do you think he was serious or nah?
