It’s official. Jamie Dornan is Christian Grey. The Irish actor will be stepping into the void left when Charlie Hunnam bailed on the project earlier this month. Not too much is known about him in the U.S., but perhaps that’s for the best. Sorry, Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer fans, but with a relative newcomer, you can truly believe Jamie Dornan is Christian Grey , not an actor playing him. He is an actor, of course, as well as a model. One who could be described, as Anastasia Steele put it, as “the epitome of male beauty” and truly breathtaking”? We’ll leave to you do decide. He’s certainly done his share of modeling – shirtless at that – which might help move some of the naysayers over to Team Jamie. He’s not Robert Pattinson, but there was a time when Robert Pattinson wasn’t R-Pattz either. Think about that. Just visualize. Let the fantasies linger. The Voice coach Cee Lo Green has been charged with one felony count of furnishing a controlled substance, the L.A. County D.A.’s Office confirms. Cee Lo pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stemmed from a sexual assault allegation. A woman accused Green of taking advantage of her while on ecstasy. Cee Lo Green Pleads Not Guilty Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, “allegedly slipped ecstacy to a 33-year-old female” on a date last summer, according to the D.A. Green, 39, and the woman later went back to her hotel room, but the prosecutors declined to file sexual assault charges , “citing insufficient evidence.” The woman had previously accused Green of spiking her drink, which the singer denied. He cooperated with and even encouraged a police investigation. Among the problems with her claim that Cee Lo behaved shadily that night? The fact that the two had dated for several months and been intimate before. Whatever happened, officials determined there wasn’t evidence of wrongdoing on his part, except for having the drug, which he apparently admitted on tape. If convicted, Green faces up to four years in prison, although more likely, he won’t do any time as a first offender. He is due back in court November 20.
Charlie Hunnam wants to move on to a new chapter in life. The actor spoke publicly for the first time since bailing on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. At the 2nd annual “Hogs for Heart” event benefiting One Heart Source Education Programs in Burbank, the Sons of Anarchy actor broke his silence. “I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It’s been a really busy time,” he said, revealing a factor in his personal life we weren’t aware of. “I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive.” The 33-year-old actor’s father, Billy, had passed away in May of this year and Charlie traveled back to his native England to be with family at the time. Hunnam bailed on Fifty Shades after being cast in the lead role a little over a month prior. He gave no reason for doing so beyond the token scheduling conflicts. There are rumors that a lack of creative control bothered him, combined with a desire not to be typecast or ridiculously famous a la Robert Pattinson. In any case, Jamie Dornan is said to be the leading candidate to replace Charlie, who’s currently wrapping up Season 6 of Sons . What comes next? “Like I said, I’ve got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people,” he continued. “And then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons .” “There’s rumor that we might do a couple of more episodes and do a little bit of an extended season next year, so we will see if that happens. It may or it may not.” “But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter of life.” One that does not include starring as Christian Grey. Austin Mahone is feeling especially hot at the moment. But it’s not due to the singer’s handsome mug. It’s a result of an illness he’s come down with that has forced the artist to postpone at least one concert date. “I’ve never felt so bad,” Mahone wrote on Instagram today, along with the following photo of him in the hospital. Mahone came down with a 103 fever and a case of the flu early Friday and won’t be able to perform in Miami tonight or Orlando tomorrow night. “It’s Doctor’s orders,” the artist Tweeted. At the moment, the Miami show will take place on October 22 and the Miami concert has been rescheduled for November 1. “I can’t believe this is happening its my first tour I’m so upset. I feel like I’m letting you all down,” wrote Mahone, who joined Taylor Swift on a number of her shows earlier this year. But that’s silly, of course. You go ahead and get better, Austin. Your fans will be there for you upon your return.
The Fifty Shades of Grey casting rumor carousel continues unabated tonight, with the newest name tied to the project being one who isn’t on most people’s radar: Luke Bracey. The Australian hunk, 24, is said to be one of the current frontrunners to replace Charlie Hunnam, who abruptly bailed on the project a week ago. “Luke is at the top of the list,” the insider says, noting that he has discussed the role and chemistry testing is planned with co-star Dakota Johnson. Luke Bracey is best known as Trey Palmer on the Aussie soap Home and Away , and as Leighton Meester’s love interest in the 2011 film Monte Carlo . While making that motion picture, he grew close with Selena Gomez . Earlier this year, after she split from Justin Bieber, the two were spotted holding hands. Other actors rumored to be in the running for 50 Shades include Jamie Dornan , Alexander Skarsgard, Christian Cooke, Theo James and Francois Arnaud. Whoever gets the nod has big shoes to fill. Rumors that Charlie Hunnam is quitting the Fifty Shades of Grey movie have surfaced in recent days. The alleged reason? The widespread fan discontent. While that is undeniably the reason for the rumors themselves – you wouldn’t hear such rumors over The Vampire Diaries ‘ Ian Somerhalder – it’s untrue. Some are even brainstorming who should play Christian Grey if Hunnam walks. While absurd, that does tell you a lot about how his casting was received. Like it or not, though, Hunnam and Dakota Johnson will star in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. He was hanging with E.L. James only a few days ago. The book’s author tweeted, “Guess who” alongside a photo of Charlie’s forearm tattoo that his character, Jax Teller, wears on FX’s Sons of Anarchy . Obviously, E.L. and Charlie aren’t sitting around taking Twitpics if he isn’t very much on board with the film. Sorry to burst your bubble, Matt Bomer fans. In fact, rather than discord among the Fifty Shades braintrust, they’re protecting their investment. Hunnam has reportedly been given a team of bodyguards. Fifty Shades of Grey wine. It’s actually a thing. E.L. James, author of the popular novels, has introduced it, starting with two “personally blended” bottles. Just as Christian and Anastasia blend their bodies into one. Or something. The Fifty Shades of Grey wine varietals, titled Red Satin and White Silk, do not come with handcuffs, but may make you more likely to end up in them. We mean sexually, not in a DUI arrest sense. But don’t drink and drive kids. So what do they actually taste like? We’ll try to refrain from obvious jokes and sexual innuendo for just a moment and work from the official release: The red is described as a blend of “Petite Sirah and Syrah with flavors of black cherry, cocoa powder, creamy caramel and vanilla, leather and clove spice.” The white features “floral aromatics of lychee and honey, tempered by flavors of crisp grapefruit, mineral and lush pear with a faint hint of butterscotch.” E.L. said in a statement that “Wine plays an important role in Fifty Shades of Grey , adding to the sensuality that pervades a number of scenes.” Translation: It tastes good. It gets you drunk. Christian and Ana bone like it’s their jobs. There are at least 17 times in which wine is consumed in the book, including one memorable scene in which Ana is given it via Christian’s mouth. No word on whether you can expect Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam to reenact that in the still sort of hotly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie . The wine goes on sale September 30 .
It was only a matter of time. With Charlie Hunnam talking about the “tangible chemistry” he felt with co-star Dakota Johnson, a fan has put it to the test. Sort of. In the following Fifty Shades of Grey trailer, we get a not-entirely-accurate sense of how the actors cast as Christian and Ana might work as an on-screen duo. Using spliced-together clips of their previous roles, of course: 50 Shades of Grey Trailer (Fan-Made) Dakota Johnson is not expected to go blonde, nor will Charlie Hunnam (also seen in last night’s Sons of Anarchy Season 6 premiere ) look as young as this. Still, one has to hand it to the creator of this mashup of some of their sexiest scenes in this trailer, giving fans a taste of what to expect next summer. It may be months before we get a real Fifty Shades of Grey trailer (the Super Bowl on February 2 feels like a good time), so these will have to do for now. Not that there’s a shortage of them. George Zimmerman has been released from custody following Monday’s allegedly heated dispute with his sobbing, estranged wife Shellie, who called 911. On the phone with dispatchers, Shellie Zimmerman claimed that her spouse was threatening her and her father with a gun and that feared for her life. George Zimmerman 911 Call Local police converged on the home in the Orlando, Fla., suburb of Lake Mary and held George Zimmerman in custody , though he was not arrested. After speaking to her attorney, Shellie changed her story. She said she never saw a gun and that she and her father, whom she said Zimmerman had punched in the face, had no interest in pressing charges. Police later said they did not find a gun on Zimmerman. The encounter Monday was the latest in a string of incidents in which Zimmerman has landed in the news since his acquittal in the Trayvon Martin case. Besides Shellie Zimmerman filing for divorce , he’s twice been pulled over on suspicion of speeding, and received a ticket on one of those occasions. He’s also appeared in photos at a gun maker that were published online and assisted members of a family from their vehicle following a car wreck. Monday’s dispute isn’t uncommon for a couple in the midst of a divorce, said his attorney, Mark O’Mara, who denied any guns or threats were involved. Shellie Zimmerman had reportedly collected most of her belongings from the house where both she and George had been staying until she moved out. But she had returned unexpectedly to gather the remaining items and emotions got out of control, although things calmed down once police arrived. Says O’Mara: “I know the 911 tape suggests that Shellie was saying something but I think that was heightened emotions. There may have been some pushing and touching.” “That happens a lot in divorce situations … nobody was injured .” George’s brother Robert Tweeted, “we’ve learned from GZ case not to jump to conclusions, to wait for facts & to avoid speculation. ‘News’ is a business – not your friend.” Prosecutors, though, could still build a case based on surveillance video from cameras outside the house and from the squad cars of officers who responded. Florida law allows police officers to arrest someone for domestic violence without the consent of the victim, though it’s far from a guarantee in this case. For the time being, “domestic violence cannot be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn’t see a firearm,” an official said. On the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman is sobbing and repeating “Oh my God” as she yells at her father to get in the house, saying Zimmerman may start shooting. “He’s threatening all of us with a firearm … He punched my dad in the nose,” Shellie said on the call. “I don’t know what he’s capable of. I’m really scared.” Police investigated and found the situation slightly less alarming. “We didn’t find a gun,” Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson said late Monday night. “We didn’t find anything that indicated he had a gun on his person.” “She basically said that he made a movement that would be consistent with a movement someone would make if they had a gun,” Hudson added. Hudson said that George Zimmerman was released from investigative detention around 6:30 p.m., after which “he just walked back into the house.” “Right now he’s not a suspect in anything per se,” he said, but added that authorities were still viewing the video to see what new information can be found. Hudson said Zimmerman is free to do whatever he wants at this time, but suspects he will not be staying at the same house given the recent publicity.
