Source: Hero Images / Getty The holidays can be so beautiful, but it’s also a season that comes with many, many…MANY expectations . From finishing out strong at your place of employment to dealing with toxic family members, it can get stressful. Not to mention, all the gifts you’re supposed to magically have money for, in addition to your usual bills. It becomes a lot and we don’t blame anyone who’s feeling worn out, sad, or even a little less than flawless this time of year. With all that said, for World Kindness Day today, we’re here to help you be a little nicer to YOURSELF as you do your best to get through it all. Besides all the situations you might be dealing with personally, it’s also been difficult for all of us to go out into the world with optimism about our lives as we witness crippling injustice day in and day out. Young Black faces are being killed on the regular, mass shooters threaten concerts, bars, and even schools…we’re tired and at the risk of sounding dramatic, somewhat traumatized . So as we get through these tough times and bring in 2019, self-care is a must…body positivity is a must…self-love is non-negotiable. If we want a better, kinder world we have to begin with how we speak to ourselves. So, where should you start? We’re millennials, so we’re not about to tell you to go get a massage (although, don’t get us wrong, you should definitely hideaway at your favorite spa as often as you can). Instead, since we know the first thing you do in the morning is check your phone, we’re feeding right into your unhealthy gadget addiction with 5 pages you need to follow on Instagram—not now, but RIGHT NOW. Turn on the notifications, save the posts that speak to you, and internalize positive affirmations on the go, before bed, and when you’re feeling like no one in the world can possibly understand, use these accounts to relieve the pressure. These pages, as suggested by the editors of Global Grind & CASSIUSLife.com, help us feel like the bad motherf*ckers we are. …Also, go to the spa. @maryamhasnaa It’s no coincidence the alternative and holistic health guru has nearly 100,000 followers. If you’re having trouble moving on from the past and focusing on a brighter future, she’s your go-to. @raeholliday One of our own, Rae Holliday’s “InspiRAEtional Quotes” go viral on the regular. The award-winning media and TV personality knows about starting from the ground up and will have you feeling more empowered and focused in no time. @wedreaminhd Have a dream, but not so confident in your abilities to achieve anything more than the regular, degular? This is the page for you. @meandsomebodydaughter Affirmations of gratitude, faith and self-love come in different forms. Whenever we feel down on love or not as confidence in our blackness, we head to this page just to remind ourselves we matter and that special someone is out there for us. @selfcareisforeveryone The Self-Care Station describes itself as a space that “honors the importance of choosing self-care over self-harm.” Simply put, this page gets it.

Lessons From Chloe & Maud: The Tap Duo Explains How Beyoncé & Debbie Allen Helped Boost Their Success

Source: Photo by @photosbynae / iOne Digital Chloe and Maud Arnold are women of many talents. The two sisters, who are six years apart, are probably most known for their tap dancing and choreography. Together, they perform with their all-women tap dance group Syncopated Ladies and they perform as a duo, doing workshops and performances around the world. Their tap dance videos, which have gained millions of views, have gotten the attention of people like Beyoncé , who brought the two to London to perform at her Ivy Park clothing line launch in 2016.   For ten years, Chloe and Maud have also organized the DC Tap Festival  under Chloe and Maud Productions in their hometown of Washington D.C. It has grown to become the biggest tap dance festival in the world. All these things are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Chloe and Maud’s accomplishments, and they have much more planned in the future. We spoke with the two artists soon after Chloe’s Emmy nomination for choreographing a segment of The Late Late Show With James Corden.  The two talked about their humble beginnings in D.C. and how  Debbie Allen helped them expand their creative talents early on in their career (at one point, the two even lived with Allen every summer to train). The years that followed were filled with lessons that contribute to Chloe and Maud’s amazing journey. So can you both start out by describing the biggest obstacles you had to face starting in dance? Maud: One of the obstacles was growing up poor. Usually, if you’re poor, things are set up so that you stay poor and you stay where you’re from and you don’t elevate out of that situation. Luckily, our mom is extremely illustrious and she read the newspaper and never allowed a lack of money to stop us from going after what we worked for in life.  Another obstacle was people forgetting about tap dance.  Chloe:   Our artform was marginalized in the world of dance and in the general public. Then within that art form, African American women are marginalized. As we’re leveling up, we did receive resistance from some of the gatekeepers and men in our field. When we started to assert our own voice and our own style, it shook up the status quo and there was some resistance.  That was probably the most disappointing because you hope that the people who are seeing you work your butt off are excited for you when you start to make it happen. But what Maud and I really learned from that is that no matter what, you have to stay positive.  How did Debbie Allen play a role in your career? Chloe: As a teenager and for Maud’s preteens, Debbie Allen became our guiding voice and kind of awakened our possibilities. She taught us to learn everything about the arts that you possibly want to know and then it’ll be there in your foundation down the road. So that’s how we expanded to learn all styles and she encouraged us to act, and study film, and to sing. Literally anything you’re feeling artisticly, she encouraged you to do.   And then after years of dancing and putting in work, Beyoncé eventually came into the picture. You shot a “Beyoncé Tap Salute”  that she shared on her Facebook. Then you put out a “Formation” tribute video that she shared again? Chloe: Well the second time Beyonce shared our video, it was on her Facebook page and it was on the homepage of Beyoncé.com for several weeks. That catapulted us to at least 20 million or something views for the video. And then she hired us to go to London to launch her clothing line Ivy Park. We have not stopped working since that.   Chloe: It’s just absolutely incredible and Maud and I always say, it’s a testament to what happens when women really believe in sisterhood, support it and elevate it. It makes the difference because not only has Beyoncé elevated all of the lives in Syncopated Ladies, but then that funnels to all of our students and all of the people online that are looking to us. So for all the people who watch our videos, it becomes this translation of the importance of sisterhood and lifting each other up, and believing and sharing your platform when you have it.   Was there anything that surprised you when working with a particular artist like Beyoncé’s team or James Corden? Chloe: Interesting enough, I’m constantly inspired by the kindness of the teams of the people that we’ve worked with, and finding a serious parallel between excellence and kindness. So Beyoncé’s team…they were so kind. Like truly kind. When I got nominated for an Emmy, they all congratulated me. Like they’re busy, they were on tour. But the fact that they’re constantly kind — I’m just very thankful that the universe has been placing us around like-minded people with a common sense of values. Now that you all have gained this new level of success, what are your biggest obstacles now? Maud:  I would say now our biggest issue is time management. Now, we need to expand because we have so much work coming in that we’re excited about. We want to make T.V. shows, and sell them and write them. It’s about finding that time to do all of those things. Chloe:  I think it’s a matter of getting the investors too, so that we can build the infrastructure needed so that our time can be divided. Because we do everything. So being able to have Chloe and Maud Productions hire employees. Creating more partnerships with brands and opportunities to help build our infrastructure so that we can get more hands on deck.

Shannon Beador and Vicki Gunvalson Wake Up From Surgery on This Sneak Peek

In the aftermath of Shannon Beador flipping out and then apologizing to her fellow Housewives, the show needs some levity. In this The Real Housewives of Orange County sneak peek, Shannon and Vicki have both undergone surgery. When they come to, however, their experiences are very different. One of them is deeply hilarious. “In a perfect world, would I like to have my partner waiting for me when I get out of surgery?” Shannon asks. She asks if she would love to have such a partner “putting his arm around me, saying ‘I’m going to take care of you and everything’s going to be OK?’” She answers her own questions: “Absolutely.” Obviously, anyone wants emotional support, especially when they're just coming out of surgery. Since Shannon is currently single, however, she doesn't have that. Fortunately, Shannon knows how to keep things in perspective. “But you know what?” Shannon asks rhetorically. “I have a driver,” Shannon says. “And Sophie and the kids are waiting for me when I get home.” That's more than a lot of people have. Shannon concludes: “And that’s all I can ask for.” It's always good to focus on the positives in your life, rather than simply on what you don't have. We promised that there would be some levity in this clip, and there absolutely is. Vicki Gunvalson also went into the hospital to have some face-fillers removed. Her boyfriend, Steve Lodge, arrived to show her moral support — you know, the kind that Shannon would have liked. Vicki was still a little loopy, however, and immediately asks Steve some awkward questions. “Do you love me?” Vicki asks. “Am I pretty?” It sounds like Shannon might be better off. People aren't always at their best when they're under the influence. Vicki then tells Steve that she has “no panties on right now.” Earlier this year, Vicki explained why she intended to have her face fillers removed. “I had a lot of fillers in my face and I didn’t feel like it was me anymore,” Vicki said. “I had too many doctors, too many different times say ‘let’s do this, let’s do that, let’s fill here, let’s do Voluma, let’s do Sculptra,’” Vicki continues. You know, on the very first episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County that I ever saw, she was having a botox party. It seems that she's changed her tune. “And,” Vicki says. “By the time I was done I looked in the mirror and was like COMMA ‘I don’t even look like myself.’” Apparently, part of that has been Steve's supportive influence.  “I said to him the other day, ‘My boobies are a little bit lower. I want them higher up here,’” Vicki shares. Vicki says that Steve didn't agree: “He goes, ‘You promised me you wouldn’t do anything else,’” “No,” Vicki decides. “For right now I’m at peace.” Good for her! It's always easy to poke fun at women who undergo multiple cosmetic procedures on their faces and breasts. Of course, it starts to get considerably less funny once you think about the powerful social forces that demand that women look a certain way. These cultural pressures are compounded for women who are on television, for older women, and for women who are trying to date. Some would say that Vicki and Shannon almost had no choice but to go under the knife a time or two if they wanted to remain on television. That is a grim thought.

Henry Levy: Demi Lovato Is Dating a Fellow Addict and Fans Are Concerned

As we reported earlier today, Demi Lovato is out of rehab , and she’s not allowing her sobriety to interfere with her social life. It looks as though Demi already has a new boyfriend, and while it’s nice to see her smile after such a difficult year, there may be cause for concern. Typically, those who are new to recovery are discouraged from embarking on new romantic relationships. But Demi’s new companion reportedly checks two boxes, as he’s both a source of emotional support and an expert on sobriety. His name is Henry Levy, and he’s a clothing designer who’s been to rehab several times, having first sought treatment when he was 15 years old. Now, that may sound like a recipe for disaster at first, as Demi’s latest relapse is so recent that she probably shouldn’t involve herself with another addict at the moment. But those who know Henry best say he’s been sober for over a year and may actually be a good influence on Demi His latest stint in rehab–where he reportedly re-connected with Demi–was apparently just a tune-up. Although it can’t be that long since Levy’s last relapse, as here he is pouring himself a glass of whiskey in 2016.  Sources close to the situation say Henry and Demi have been friends for years, but their romance is a recent development. Though not exactly a household name, Levy is no slouch in the fashion world, and his clothing has been worn by Sophie Turner, Kanye West, Sophia Richie and, of course, Demi. So Henry’s successful in his own right … but that doesn’t mean he’s stable. As head of Enfants Riches Deprimes (which translates to “rich depressed children”) Henry has stirred up a good deal of controversy over the years. “If I wasn’t Jewish I would kill myself. Because I wouldn’t be rich,” Levy wrote on Facebook last year, much to the chagrin of customers and employees. In the Complex  magazine interview that accompanied the whiskey photo, Levy said that one of his primary artistic motivations is the rage he feels toward his parents for sending him to rehab. Asked by the interviewer at that time if he was sober, Levy answered simply, “No.” Now, close friendships and romantic relationships are common among rehab patients, but experts generally caution against them for a number of reasons. Every addict and every recovery is different, but fans are already troubled by the fact that Demi left rehab months ahead of schedule. The fact that the new man in her life is relatively newly sober himself is likely to be greeted with even greater concern. After all, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Demi’s overdose in July nearly claimed her life. With the help of family, friends, fans, and an army of specialists, Demi recently celebrated 90 days of sobriety . But just like every other addict, she’s always just one bad decision from throwing it all away. Here’s hoping Henry is equipped to help her remain on the right path. Vanessa Hudgens Ass in Bike Shorts of the Day

Here’s some Vanessa Hudgens in bike shorts, because that’s the style now, people wear them out to fancy events, Kanye and his clothing company take credit for it, but it’s really just bullshit, bike shorts have been around forever, I mean every weekend I see a crew of Jewish Orthodontists ride by like clockwork for the last 18 years in bike shorts… Back when sexuality was a thing, I used to call people gayer than Bicycle shorts, because bike shorts are pretty gay, I mean how much speed and comfort is it providing these weekend warriors…it’s not like they are riding to Tour De France…but I am not allowed to say gay now, it’s against the law, a hate crime….Not to mention, when they are on girls, they are hot, even old timers like Vanessa Hudgens….who may be best known as a girl who leaked her nudes, thick bush out, claiming to be barely 18…but she was also on Disney’s High School musical and is now whatever the fuck a bike short wearing girl in public is…. Elsa Hosk Nipples for a Clothing Brand of the Day

Elsa Hosk the Victoria’s Secret cultivated underwear model – who for at least a year before becoming a Victoria’s Secret girl – was nude all over the place to get noticed…all designed to make her famous, hype her up, and get her to seamlessly replace the Candice Swanepoel blonde chick….with a bit more edginess… In being a VS model, they make her do other brand deals, like this one, with her tits out, that I am sure she got paid a lot for, thanks to having that Victoria’s Secret stamp of approval.. It’s hard to hate a bitch who gets topless pics of herself taken for the internet – for the sake of topless pics and I guess this isn’t quite topless but you can see her tits and this is her getting paid stupid money to be part of this whatever it may be… The post Elsa Hosk Nipples for a Clothing Brand of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Couple Gets Married on Southwest Airlines Flight: WATCH!

A couple decided that there was no place they'd rather get married than on an airplane. Not a private plane. Not a plane on the ground. Just a regular, commercial aircraft full of other passengers. It's a strange story, but very touching, especially when you see how much everyone else played along. Take a look: “Airplane wedding” might sound like the premise of some god-awful romantic comedy (not all of them are, but this one would be). Seeing it play out in real life, on the other hand, shows that it can be pretty sweet. Michael and Renee used the airplane aisle as their, well, aisle. Renee walked towards Michael while Ed Sheeran's “Perfect” played, because of course . The pilot of the Southwest flight addressed the entire plane over the intercom, saying: “They met each other four years ago,” the pilot announced. “And this weekend decided to make it at least another four years,” Everybody's a comedian. “They met on a Match.com date,” the pilot also shared. “And yes, ladies and gentleman, it really does work.” “They were in beautiful Baltimore when they met,” the pilot added. “And it’s happily ever after from there.” Their vows were appropriately tongue-in-cheek under the circumstances. “I, Michael, take you, Renee, to be my wife, my partner in life, and my travel companion when I become a Rapid Reward Member today, tomorrow and forever.” That's very cute. (They danced down the aisle to Chris Brown's “Forever,” which is gross, but it's inclear whether they or a passanger chose that music) Skylee Campbell was one of the many passengers who captured this precious moment on video. “Can’t think of a better way to spend a late-night, 5 hour flight,” Skylee wrote. “Other than watching a wedding happen on the plane!” It makes sense that the airlines are happy to oblige. First of all, it gives flight attendants and pilots a break from, you know, the mundane agony of just doing their jobs like they do on every other flight. Second of all, it gives new, free good press for the airline. Do you know how rare that is, these days? How many videos have we all seen of people getting dragged off of airplanes? Earlier this month, there were overlapping horror stories from airplanes. One was of a man removed for his foul body odor . Another was of a man who, according to the woman who was seated beside him, was allegedly masturbating during the flight. So, yes, a heartwarming story that takes place on an airplane is clearly welcome. From their perspective. There are ethical concerns to getting marred in a plane in this manner. The ceremony is sweet, sure. But … the passengers didn't sign up for this. These two were effectively tying the knot in front of a captive audience who, rather than being invited to a wedding ceremony between strangers, found themselves immersed in it against their will. Sometimes public proposals happen like this, but it usually only monopolizes a minute or two of people's time. This was a whole wedding ceremony, and the captain was speaking over the intercom. That's not exactly easy to avoid. On top of that … imagine having to go to the bathroom while on the flight. That's an unpleasant prospect at any point, because the process of flying is an exercise in misery. But interrupting a wedding that you never asked to attend adds extra unpleasantness to being squeezed into a small nightmare bathroom while hurtling through the clouds in a metal tube. Still … we haven't actually heard any complaints. The flight crew reportedly had all of the passengers activate their overhead lights to illuminate the aisle. It's such a cute story. Apparently, the crew was happy to comply. This couple is hardly the first to get married on a flight, and they won't be the last. Honestly, airplane tickets might be expensive considering the conditions that people endure on flights, but they can't compare to the price of a more traditional wedding. Good for these two for thinking outside of the box. And good for the flight crew and passengers for indulging them.

Duggar Brainwashing Scandal: Are Rebellious Kids Being "Reprogrammed"?!

One rarely sees a critique of the Duggar family that doesn’t include the word “cult.” And it’s easy to see why all but the family’s most diehard fans are able to recognize that their particular brand of fundamentalist Southern Baptism bears many of the hallmark distinctions of a dangerous band of zealots. For example, the Duggars are wary of outsiders. Dissent and rebellion are not tolerated within their ranks and are swiftly dealt with, often with harsh punishments. Women are subservient to men and are forced to adhere to strict regulations regarding their clothing and conduct. They participate in ritualistic animal sacrifices in order to appease their fertility god, Ra’aa’al. Okay, we may have made that last one up, but you get the point. The Institute for Basic Life Principles — the organization that’s provided the basis for the Duggars’ controversial belief system — is pretty unabashed in its cultishness, and the Duggars proudly live their lives according to the teachings of its disgraced founder Bill Gothard . So make of that what you will. Anyone who’s escaped a cult will tell you that discipline is the glue that holds such groups together, and anyone who’s ever been a teenager knows that perpetually cheerful dispositions and voluntary celibacy are two things that do not come naturally to the pubescent set. And yet we don’t hear much about how the Duggars discipline their older children. We know about such controversial practices as ” blanket training ” for younger children, but surely even a practice as severe as striking toddlers with blunt objects wouldn’t be enough to foster a lifetime of blind obedience. In fact, one would think that in many cases it would cause children to lash out in their teen years. So why don’t we ever hear about Jim Bob and Michelle grounding their children or forcing them to go to bed without devouring a steam tray full of deep-fried Crisco first? Well, according to a new report from Life & Style , it’s because rebellious Duggar teens aren’t published — they’re quietly sent away to be “re-programmed.” Josiah Duggar is the most recent victim of this practice, but he’s far from the first. Josiah is said to be the most rebellious Duggar boy, and Jim Bob reportedly attempted to suppress this streak by sending him away for an extra long stint at a secretive IBLP facility known as the ALERT Academy. Joe and Jeremiah also did time in the clandestine boot camp-like program, but they weren’t there for nearly as long as Josiah, who was gone from the Duggar compound for much of 2013 and 2014. When he returned, Jim Bob must have been satisfied with the results, as Josiah was promptly tossed into a courtship with Marjorie Jackson. Unfortunately, it must have been too much too soon, as Josiah and Marjorie broke up after just a few weeks of dating — a move that’s almost unheard of in Duggar courtships. After that, Josiah once again “kept a low profile” for several months. But it’s not just Duggar boys who are shipped off to receive the Clockwork Orange treatment when they show signs of independent thought. Girls serve their time in the equally controversial Journey of the Heart program. Jana Duggar was sent there in her youth, and she returned as exactly the sort of docile super-servant her parents needed. “Jana used to be very outgoing,” John-David once remarked of the change in her personality. “Whenever she was younger, she was very rowdy.”  A rowdy young woman?  Well, we can’t have that, now can we? Of course, the most frequently brainwashed Duggar is Josh, who was shipped off to ALERT after he was caught molesting five young girls . As an adult, the treatment was repeated at a faith-based in-patient facility for sex addicts that’s been described as a prison-like workcamp. In Josh’s case, such treatment is actually deserved. Unfortunately, the cerebral scrub-down wasn’t enough to keep from acting like Arkansas’ answer to Harvey Weinstein. Watch Counting On online for more on reality TV’s most controversial family.
