Angelina Jolie: Actually Ready to Adopt Again After Maddox Leaves For College!

Last month, Angelina Jolie ugly cried as she dropped off her first (& low-key favorite) child Maddox Jolie-Pitt at college in South Korea .  Jolie was filmed by students as she said her farewells at Yonsei University in Seoul; she even did a little interview with the students where she said, “It seems like a great school!” and “I hope you’re all going to like it.” Maddox remained by her side the entire time, which was honestly too adorable, most kids would die at the thought of their parents causing them so much attention on their first day of college.  But alas, Maddox is now a college freshman studying biochem, we feel very old, and Angie is left feeling empty inside.  He is the first one to leave the nest after all!  And they were extremely close, according to a source that told Entertainment Tonight that “she loves him and is so proud of how wise he is beyond his years.” “Maddox is very attached to his mom. She’s always stood by him,” shared the source. While at this year’s D23 Expo, she opened up to Disney fans about how much she misses her son, but that she is already planning trips to get back out there and visit him.  But it seems as though she has some other plans in mind, too!  According to Radar Online , the Maleficent  actress is ready to adopt again .  That’s right — she is looking to add a 7th child to her flock following Maddox’s departure and she “wants it to happen within the next few months,” said the source.  “This has been in the works for a while, but she put it on hold until after Maddox officially left home.” She must’ve known she was not going to take that separation well.  At first, it was reported by Radar that the mom of six said she was “not feeling very strong” after he left home and apparently, she was going to try dating to fill her son’s void. However, considering  Jolie’s somewhat recent divorce from Brad Pitt  — it is still too soon. Forget men she wants herself a baby! While it is not clear yet which country her new kiddo will be adopted from, she has many options.  “Because of her ties to so many countries, Angie has  several options to choose from that won’t involve too much red tape or background screening,” a source shared to Radar .  “She’s doing this very methodically and still favors picking a child from an impoverished region she’s familiar with, like Syria or another part of the Middle East.” Jolie has plans to finish up Marvel movie The Eternals first, but then she is ready to take on her favorite role ever: mom!  “The plan is to have a child in her arms by the year’s end at the latest,” revealed the source. SCARY: Cincinnati Football Player Suffers Seizure In The Middle Of A Play [Video]

Source: JMU Athletics Communications / JMU Athletics Communications Cincinnati Football Player Has Seizure In The Middle Of A Play College football players go out each and every weekend and put it all on the line for the promise of making it into the professional league one day–and the percentage that actually make it to the league is a lot smaller than one might think. Besides proving to be the cream of the crop as far as gameplay goes, other obstacles stand in their way that are completely out of the players’ control. For some, its tuition that holds them back because college surely isn’t cheap. For a lot of these players, it’s injuries , which happen every single week. This weekend, one player had a medical emergency that isn’t seen on the field too often. Cincinnati College’s Kyriq McDonald suffered a seizure mid-play during their blowout at the hands of Ohio State. After the game, his mother confirmed that McDonald has a history of seizures. Hopefully, he can play again, but it’s definitely not worth risking your daily abilities to play football because as we all know, the wrong hit at the wrong time could end up being detrimental. Scary moment for Cincinnati's Kyriq McDonald. He fell midplay despite not being touched and remained on the field. He was driven off the field. ESPN spoke with his mom who said he has a history of seizures. pic.twitter.com/wvMSgv5Dcr — Jordan Heck (@JordanHeckFF) September 7, 2019

There has been a major effort to expand STEM education programs at HBCUs. On Friday, prosecutors outlined their sentencing recommendations in documents filed in the United States District Court of Massachusetts. This comes months after the actress admitted to paying $15,000 to a college counselor to inflate her daughter’s SAT scores. According to the sentencing memo, prosecutors are shooting for the 56-year-old to serve one month in jail, followed by 12 months of supervised release and a $20,000 fine. In response to prosecutors’ sentencing recommendations, Huffman’s legal team requested one year of probation, 250 hours of community service, and a $20,000 fine. The actress asked for leniency in a letter submitted to the court. Felicity Huffman: “When my daughter looked at me and asked with tears streaming down her face, 'Why didn't you believe in me? Why didn't you think I could do it on my own?' I had no adequate answer for her. I could only say, 'I am sorry. I was frightened and I was stupid.'” pic.twitter.com/Ffq9qpvjkL — Aaron Leibowitz (@aaron_leib) September 6, 2019 “I honestly didn’t and don’t care about my daughter going to a prestigious college. I just wanted to give her a shot at being considered for a program where her acting talent would be the deciding factor,” the letter read. “This sounds hollow now, but, in my mind, I knew that her success of failure in theater or film wouldn’t depend on her math skills.” Felicity’s lawyers also submitted Letters in Aid of Testimony written by her friends and family, including her husband, William H. Macy and her former Desperate Housewives  co-star Eva Longoria . Felicity Huffman is set to be sentenced on September 13.

United Negro College Fund Teams Up With Cengage To Provide HBCU Students With Access To Free Textbooks

More here:

T he rising cost of higher education has created financial burdens for several students throughout the country. According to a study conducted by Morning Consult , four in 10 students skipped meals to be able to afford textbooks and course materials and three in 10 students decided to opt out of a course due to the high price of required textbooks. The United Negro College Fund has teamed up with the tech-ed company Cengage to address the growing issue through the creation of a program that will provide HBCU students with free access to textbooks. Black students have been significantly impacted by the expensive cost of textbooks. Research shows that 60 percent of African American students decided not to purchase textbooks because the prices were too high, and 52 percent say that the cost affects their finances. Furthermore, 32 percent of Black students have to sacrifice trips home to spend time with their loved ones so they can pay for their textbooks. Through the program, UNCF and Cengage will select 1,000 students to have free access to Cengage’s digital subscription platform which features over 22,000 eBooks and other course materials. “Every student should have an equal opportunity to succeed, and having the right learning materials can have a critical impact on performance,” Michael Hansen , CEO, Cengage, said in a statement. “The high cost of textbooks have prohibited this for many students. This is why we launched Cengage Unlimited – to make quality learning more affordable. UNCF has helped thousands of learners, enabling opportunity for minority students through its financial support and public advocacy. We are proud to partner with UNCF to ease some of the financial burden these students face and ensure they are equipped with the tools they need to reach their full potential.” The leadership team at UNCF believes that this initiative will be instrumental in alleviating the financial burdens faced by HBCU students. “We must continue to invest our time and money in better futures for young people around the country. Partners like Cengage are vitally important to this work and we are pleased to have them as an ally in helping to educate the next generation of leaders,” said Dr. Michael L. Lomax , President and CEO of UNCF. Several efforts are being made to help HBCU students better their financial situations. She is using her journey as an avenue to inspire others; similar to how Dr. Hill inspired her to break barriers in computer science. “I don’t look the stereotypical computer scientist,” she told The Exponent in a statement. “You don’t find many black women in this academic space. This is what computer science can look like.” Outside of her studies, Johnson has been dedicated to paying it forward and empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
