The Hollywood hacker has struck again. Naked photos of Hayden Panettiere ( Heroes , Nashville ) have surfaced on platforms such as Reddit and 4chan, with the actress now joining the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Kim Kardashian as female celebrities who have been victimized by some loser hacker. Nude images of latter two also hit the Internet today. Panettiere, Hudgens and Kardashian now join a list of violated actresses, singers athletes and models that include Hope Solo, Kirsten Dunst, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and many others. The hacking scandal blew up a couple weeks ago when Kate Upton nude pictures and Jennifer Lawrence nude pictures flooded the World Wide Web. The FBI is in the middle of an investigation, but the agency clearly has not yet found the hacker at the center of this controversy. Many other celebrities and bloggers have been calling upon individuals to NOT look at these lewd photographs in order to grant the subjects their deserved privacy. Controversially, Clay Aiken has told The Washington Post that “anybody who takes inappropriate pictures of themselves deserves exactly what they get.” He did add, however: “Of course whoever [stole and released the photos] should be hogtied. And it’s unfortunate that we don’t have Internet security right now or the laws in place to protect people from pirating that stuff.”
Nicki Minaj is a talented rapper, but selling sex is a big part of her career, as well (see Nicki’s fake wardrobe malfunction at the VMAs for evidence). So no one was really surprised when the the video for Nicki’s song “Anaconda” was basically just an ass-shaking fest with a Drake lap dance thrown in for good measure. Sadly, instead of owning the moment and admitting that – like Kim Kardashian and J-Lo before her – she rode her prominent backside all the way to the a-list, Nicki is pretending that she just doesn’t see what all the fuss is about: “I think the video was so sexy or crazy,” Nicki said when asked about the video’s single-day YouTube record. “I didn’t expect that. I didn’t even expect the picture getting the controversy it got. For the video to break a record, I was like ‘What?'” We have a hard time believing that Nicki didn’t think the video would cause a stir. We have an even harder time believing that she doesn’t think the clip is sexy. SeaWorld Stock Plummets Following “Blackfish” Documentary The release of “Blackfish” is taking it’s toll on mighty mighty SeaWorld, with backlash following the film putting a serious dent in the pockets of the execs who bankroll the orca park, which is now infamous for the terrible treatment of the animals and trainers who toil there. According to Financial Post reports: SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. dropped to a record low after reporting earnings that missed analysts’ estimates and saying controversy over the treatment of captive whales in its theme-park shows hurt attendance. The shares tumbled 32% to US$19.16 at 12:39 p.m. in New York after falling to US$19.30, the lowest since they started trading in April 2013. Before today, SeaWorld had retreated 23% in a year following the release of “Blackfish,” a critical documentary about one of its performing killer whales. The company acknowledged for the first time that pressure from animal-rights groups is reducing attendance, said Barton Crockett, an analyst at FBR & Co., calling second-quarter results “surprisingly weak.” The theme-park operator had tried to head off a proposed ban on keeping orcas in captivity in California with a lobbying campaign that raised doubts about claims that the animals are harmed in its parks. “Attendance in the quarter was impacted by demand pressures related to recent media attention surrounding proposed legislation in the state of California,” Orlando, Florida-based SeaWorld said today in a statement. SeaWorld expects revenue to decline as much 7% in 2014. Sales fell 1.5% to US$405.2 million last quarter, the company said, missing the US$445.2 million average of estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Earnings of 43 cents a share also trailed the average prediction of 58 cents. Before the controversy over “Blackfish,” SeaWorld sold shares at US$27 each in its April 2013 IPO. Blackstone Group LP, which controlled the theme-park operator, chose an initial public offering for SeaWorld, snubbing takeover bids from Apollo Global Management LLC and Onex Corp., because the firm expected an IPO to yield better returns over time than a sale, a person familiar with the matter said last year. Blackstone, which had owned all of SeaWorld’s equity, has since cut its stake to 22%, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. In response to the slowdown, the company has hired an adviser to identify ways to cut costs this year and next, SeaWorld Chief Executive Officer James Atchison said on a conference call today. The savings will be used to reinvest in new attractions and to increase stock buybacks. Amid lobbying by SeaWorld, a California legislative panel in April put off for at least a year a proposed measure that would ban whale breeding and the use of the animals for entertainment. We’re glad to hear there is legislation in the works — sucks that the lobbyists were able to keep the restrictions from going through though. Casey Kasem may be dead. But the controversy surrounding the life of this iconic DJ refuses to go away. Casey Kasem Remains Unburied Following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia, Kasem died at the age of 82 on June 15. But a month later, TMZ insiders confirm that Kasem’s body has not yet been buried. In fact… it’s missing. All fingers point to Kasem’s widow, Jean, who clashed with her step-children for months over her refusal to let them spent time with their ailing dad. Family sources allege Jean snagged Casey’s body from a funeral home the day before a judge ordered her to keep it there so an autopsy could be performed. Why might she have done this? Because the autopsy could be vital in an ongoing criminal investigation targeting Jean, as Santa Monica police examine claims of abuse against her, specifically that Jean took Casey on a crazy , week-long multi-state car ride in May that caused him to develop bed sores. They got infected and this may have contributed to his passing. Casey’s daughter, Kerri, believes Jean took her father’s body out of the country. But it remains a very sad mystery at the moment.
