Dancing With the Stars cast member Sadie Robertson might not be quite as conservative as, say, Jill and Jessa Duggar, but there are some similarities for sure. Her father, Duck Dynasty star and executive producer Willie Robertson, gives the final approval to all of the 17-year-old’s Dancing With the Stars costumes! So far, Boss Hog hasn’t had any problems with Sadie’s looks, including a jungle-inspired feathered frock, a sophisticated gown and a fun fringed number last week. Will her Dancing With the Stars Season 19 Episode 8 look change that trend this evening? We’re not sure, but it sounds like she’s going to be stunning. “I feel like a ballerina in it,” Sadie says. “It’s so beautiful. I love it.” Designed by costume designer Daniela Gschwendtner, Sadie will wear the dress during her Rumba to “Diamonds” by Rihanna with partner Mark Ballas. Sounds like that could be a mildly sensual number … hmm. We’ll have to see what she wears and if Willie approves , and how the newest member of the judges’ table feels about Sadie’s routine with Mark Ballas. Pitbull will be on the panel as the week’s guest judge, filling in for Len Goodman, as well as the musical act, as he’s set to perform his new single “Fireball.” Also guesting this week is Leah Remini, who will fill in as co-host for Erin Andrews, while she covers the World Series as Fox’s MLB sideline reporter. Duck Dynasty Stars Without Beards! 1. Jase Robertson: No Beard! Jase Robertson of Duck Dynasty with no beard. That was a long time ago. With Jase is his wife Missy. As for Sadie’s other show, Duck Dynasty Season 7 premieres November 19. Will Robertson still be competing for the Mirror Ball title on ABC by then? The way she’s looked so far, don’t count her out! One contestant will be ousted on DWTS tonight, and we would be extremely surprised if it were her – or if she didn’t survive until at least the top four.
Facebook has allowed the “Kill Kendall Jones” community page to stay up, ruling upon review that it does not violate the social network’s community standards. This despite the fact that several of the now-infamous Kendall Jones hunting photos were taken down for violating the company’s policies regarding animal abuse. The 19-year-old cheerleader from Texas, an avid hunter, sparked plenty of outrage and admiration by posing with her trophy kills (see gallery below) last week. Facebook nixed a series of photos that showed her posing with a variety of animals, including a leopard and a lion, that she had shot on safari in Zimbabwe. The pictures were said to break a rule about “graphic images shared for sadistic effect or to celebrate or glorify violence,” as outlined by the company. Many Facebook users want to Kill Kendall Jones, however, and her father is livid that such content is allowed to stay up while her pictures are not. Cody Jones says he contacted Facebook, demanding they take down the “Kill Kendall Jones” page and its many posts and pics urging his daughter’s murder. He says Facebook shut him down , reviewing the page and determining that it didn’t violate standards, despite it being a takeoff of Kendall’s own postings. In fact, some of the exact photos she shared are still up in doctored form. The Kill Kendall page turns the tables on Jones, with the animals standing over a dead hunter (usually her). Somewhere, Joanna Krupa is smiling at this. Facebook says, “We remove content and may escalate to law enforcement when we perceive a genuine risk of physical harm, or a direct threat to public safety.” Apparently, they feel a page called Kill Kendall Jones doesn’t qualify. Kendall Jones Poses with Prey 1. Kendall Jones with Dead Leopard Kendall Jones poses here with a dead leopard. She killed it herself and posted the shot on Facebook, much to the ire of other users. What do you think of Kendall Jones? She’s horrible! She’s a humanitarian! She’s hot! View Poll »
On A&E’s Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 5, the gang seriously considered revamping the Duck Commander logo, crazy as that might sound to fans. Watch Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 5 Online The motto “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” applies to many things in life, and the Robertson family certainly embraces it with its emphasis on family and tradition. Yet CEO Willie put it in everybody’s heads that he wants to hire someone to design a snazzy new Duck Commander symbol to reinvigorate the brand. The flying duck has been the main image of the Robertson’s family business since 1972, when the Duck Commander himself, Phil Robertson, founded it. Ultimately, despite Jase Robertson and the guys getting a little carried away in response to the idea, the logo change is scuttled and everyone is happy. Not surprising in the end. Elsewhere on Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 5 , Phil helped Bella with a science project, which always makes for a good time. Phil plus granddaughters equals priceless exchanges galore, even if the episode was less eventful overall than last week, when they decided to be firemen. Things turned serious on Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 4. Kind of. Sort of. At least when compared to the many poop jokes made on Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 3 . On the latest installment of this A&E smash, Duck Commander hosted a pancake breakfast to support the West Monroe fire department, as learned that Willie once gave the police chief an “atomic wedgie” and that Si has an interesting pancake-eating system. “My first stack was four; second stack was six. This one is seven. I cannot eat it uneven. It’s out of balance,” explained the latter. Watch Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 4 Online Police Chief Chuckles (real name!) then sets Willie, Jase and Jep up to learn about fighting fires for an afternoon. A great deal of arguing ensues, this time while the men are sporting beard-protecting fire-retardant covers, which look very much like white ski caps. In the end, Willie overcomes his fear of heights… but gets stuck rappelling down the training tower, which leads to a harness-incurred wedgie of his own, much to the delight of his brothers. “I got to be a fireman for a day, and I got to see Willie get the biggest wedgie in the history of wedgies,” said Jase of a fun few hours. ELSEWHERE, Miss Kay took flowers to her grandmother CallieMae Carroway’s grave. Or she attempted to do so, at least. She, Phil and Si wandered around a lot in order to find the proper location, with Kay then deciding they should buy some plots in the cemetery for themselves next to a pretty pond. With Si spitting sunflower seed shells out into a cup during this adventure, it wasn’t exactly the proper setting to discuss literal life and death issues and nothing ended up getting settled in the end. Phil Robertson has been suspended indefinitely from A&E’s Duck Dynasty amid the intense backlash over his recent anti-gay comments in GQ. The family patriarch is famously outspoken and never affair to ruffle feathers (excuse the pun), but these remarks were particularly eyebrow-raising. Many were offended, but others are attacking A&E, saying Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments are merely statements of his religious and personal beliefs. Phil Robertson Suspension, Anti-Gay Backlash Sarah Palin was one of many fans to take to social media in response, charging that the Duck Dynasty star’s suspension is an attack on freedom of speech: “Free speech is an endangered species. The ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us.” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal also voiced support for his embattled constituent: “Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the State of Louisiana.” “The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with. I don’t agree with quite a bit of stuff I read in magazine interviews or see on TV.” “In fact, come to think of it, I find a good bit of it offensive. But I also acknowledge that this is a free country and everyone is entitled to express their views.” “In fact, I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment. It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.” Duck Dynasty: Phil Robertson Under Attack Over Anti-Gay Comments Many fans of the series took to Twitter to voice similar thoughts, but juts as social media users expressed relief that A&E took action against the star. GLAAD praised A&E’s decision to suspend Robertson indefinitely (though he may still appear in already recorded Duck Dynasty Season 5 episodes). “What’s clear is that such hateful anti-gay comments are unacceptable to fans, viewers, and networks alike,” said GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz. “By taking quick action and removing Robertson from future filming, A&E has sent a strong message that discrimination is neither a Christian nor an American value.” The slew of Twitter reactions made Phil Robertson a trending topic on Wednesday, as major uproar ensued following the release of his GQ interview: At the same time, the pro-Phil hashtag #IStandWithPhil gained popularity. Among other things, Robertson called homosexuality illogical and cited Bible scripture to compare homosexuality to bestiality, adultery and prostitution. “It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus, that’s just me,” he said. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there!” “She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.” Phil Robertson Slams Gay People Robertson, asked what kinds of behavior he considers sinful, added: “Start with homosexual behavior and morph out from there … bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.” Before the suspension, Phil issued a statement in which he said: “I myself am a product of the ’60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior.” “My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.” “However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity.” “We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” VOTE: Should Phil Robertson be suspended for his comments? Yes, obviously. He was way over the line. Maybe. I can see why A&E decided to. No way. He’s just stating his opinions, people! View Poll »
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, shares his views on abortion, which he opposes, in a video posted earlier this year. Robertson recounts the beginning of the America Declaration of Independence, which promises the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. “It didn’t take us 150 years, we start ripping babies out of wombs,” he says. Phil Robertson on Abortion “We should have listened to Thomas Jefferson,” Robertson, 67, goes on to argue. “You have a God-given right to live inside your mother.” “We debate whether some woman has the right to tear you out of there a piece at a time?” Phil asks . “Come on! What in the world happened to us?” The Duck Dynasty Season 4 premiere raked in 11.8 million viewers for A&E last week, proving the immense popularity of the family on the network. The Robertsons’ conservative leanings and faith-based practices are sometimes displayed in the hit reality show, albeit usually not in overt fashion. The above video wouldn’t even be news if Phil weren’t one of the biggest stars on TV nowadays, which he undeniably (and incredibly) has become. A big part of that is that Phil and his family are who they are – the same authentic, faithful and family-oriented individuals they were before fame. That said, where do you stand on the issue of abortion? Pro-Choice Pro-Life View Poll »
