Paul Jolley got the boot from American Idol on Thursday night . But if viewers were surprised by the result, this aspiring singer says he most definitely was not. “I had a moment this morning when I woke up and I realized like, ‘this is what is going to happen,'” Jolly told reporters not long after Ryan Seacrest made the announcement. Jolley is taking a very positive view of the situation, however. “I’ve realized that it’s only a stepping stone and this is only the beginning and there’s a lot more things that I want to do with my career then just American Idol,” he said. Jolley’s final performance was of the Beatles’ classic ” Eleanor Rigby .” And even though the judges didn’t love it, and viewers clearly were against it, Paul says he has no regrets. “I wanted people to feel the emotion – someone died in this song. During the beginning of the song, everyone feels alone, no one’s ever appreciated and no one should ever feel that way and everyone should know, big or small… that’s why I sang it the way I sang it. “I wanted the emotion to come across that way and I feel like I did and I’m very proud of myself.” Do you think Jolley deserved the boot this week? Yes, but he had a great run! No, it should have been Amber! No, it should have been someone else! View Poll »
Here’s a lil FYI for ya! If you mad be mad cuz it might add an additional two years to your life! A new study published in the Health Psychologies journal by a team of German researchers shows that people who release their anger live an average of two years longer than those who hold their tempers in. The study followed 6,000 people, primarily Italians and Spanish folks and found that “repressors,” the patients who internalized their emotion, often experienced an elevated pulse which increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and other medical problems. In findings published in the journal Health Psychologies, the analysis of 6,000 patients showed those who internalized anxiety ran the risk of an elevated pulse — increasing the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and other ailments. On a positive note, repressors were found to recover from illness more quickly — likely due to their discipline. Shutterstock
My name is Lory and I’m from Italy. I thought Justin would never come here, but he did. There was a contest to win a M&G with Justin/to see him in a private concert at Alcatraz . I dediced to enter the contest because there might be a good chances to win. On June 1st, I found out that I didn’t win . My heart was broken and every friend of mine won the contest. They were so excited but I cried the whole day, I was hopeless. I knew Justin would never come to Italy soon again, but I decided to go to Milan anyway. There I met some girls that didn’t win the contest, so we were in the same situation. We decided to go around Milan to find Justin’s hotel or something. It was 9:00am and we went to every single hotel in Milan, but we had no luck. At 1:00pm, Justin tweeted that he was eating some ‘spaghetti bolognese’ so we went to some restaurants but again, no luck. It was so hot, I remember that I drank like 5 or 6 bottles of water, I was about to faint. We were hopeless. It was then 3:00pm so we decided to go to Alcatraz where the private concert would be. I’ve never cried so much before, everyone was so happy and excited to see Justin but me. I was standing in front of the disco (Alcatraz is a disco) and I just wanted to see him for a short time, nothing else. We waited there for 3 hours, I hoped that a miracle would happen. At 6:00pm I was still crying until a girl stopped me and told me Justin’s hotel . It was near the Alcatraz so I started to run as fast as I could, I arrived there at 6:30pm and I was breatheless. There were like 20 girls and they were waiting for him to come. It was still too hot, I was tired, I ate just a toast at McDonald’s while we were running, I was so weak. At 7:00pm my dream did come true. Everyone screamed and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Justin came out to see us. My heart stopped for a while, I was shocked. I hugged him 3 times and kissed him. He was perfect and beautiful. WE took some pictures and now I can say it: NEVER SAY NEVER. It was the best day ever. I spent 10 hours going around Milan to find him, but I never gave up! -Sel Read more here: My name is Lory and I’m from Italy. I thought Justin would…
My name is Valentina, I’m 14 years old and I’m from Italy. I’m here to tell My Bieber Experience. I’ve been in love with Justin since 2010 and as time passed, he has not only become a favorite singer to me, but my all. Everything that is worth fighting. Everything that makes me happy. Everything for which I started to cry. Everyday was the same thing. Tears in front of my PC. My parents told me to stop being attached to a screen, my friends got angry because instead of going out with them I preferred to stay locked in the house to cry on the music of my idol. Everyone told me, “Stop, he doesn’t even know of your existence, you’re an idiot if you think he will notice you.” But to say me ‘never say never’ there were beliebers. On December 3, 2010 I bought tickets for the My World Tour in Milan. I was the happiest person in the world, I cried even more excited to see my life. It was on April 9 2011, when there was a concert. We arrived late, I didn’t even see any girls outside the stadium. We were going around to see where the entrance was, then we were able to enter. I ran like crazy, I could hear his voice, but my heart stopped beating. I saw a screen with his beautiful face projected above. Him, in real life. Justin. He was breathing my own air, in Italy. I threw myself on the ground, bringing my hands to my face, a thousand tears flowed fast and rushing down my face. This is the joy, the real one. I looked up, a security man approached me and took me to the sit but my seats weren’t there. I could not stop crying. Justin started singing, “U smile, I smile,” but I could not. My dad told us to go from our seats, but Justin was coming to sing in the heart to ‘Never Let You Go’. I turned and saw a woman talking to Sofia. I did not give importance to either of the two, not rubbed me anything. At that moment I cared only about Justin, I continued to cry. Kenny passed in front of me. I hugged him! Then all the Beliebers had begun to cling to him but he said “only her!” I realized it was for One Less Lonely Girl. Allison took my hand, she said he wanted me because she had seen me upset. After Ryan Good arrived and he screamed something to me that, sincerely, between the emotion and the fact that I’m Italian, I did not understand. It seemed that Allison knew all the tears that I had made. She seemed to know that I believed so much . But I could not realize that she really chose me, I could not. Ryan said to me, “You have Bieber above you right now, are you okay?” I said “No!” and I cried even more. Then I got up and the dancer made my way up to the stool. He asked me, “Are you okay?” I shook my head and saying no. In fact, I could not breathe and felt my head spinning . I thought I would faint, but the dancer stroked me, laughing. After he had pointed to Justin, my heart has stopped beating. He was a few steps from me. Usually there is an ocean between us and having him so close to me was the best feeling. I was not conscious of my actions, when it came to me I could not watch it. I wanted to tell him that I loved him so much, I wanted to tell him one of the many thanks that I must tell him. I wanted to hug him, touch him. I wanted to look into his eyes. I wanted to do everything, but I could not do anything. He realized my dream and I will always thank him for that. I will always defend him, even if I had the whole world against. Nobody should be allowed to insult the reason for my smiles, nobody. I will always be there and I never forsake him. It’s a promise. I would only say the last thing, after that day many Italian Beliebers have invented that my dad paid for me to go on stage, insulting me every day, saying that I do not deserve it at all, that I’m a bitch, that I’m recommended and all these things. I’m strong, but when it comes to my idol became the weaker person in the world, so I would like someone to make it known that anyone saying that the one less lonely girl do not pay anything. Because this hurts me every day, but it does not matter because I have a thing to cry on joy. I have Justin’s music. If I’m sad, I feel happy with his songs. If I feel horrible, I feel beautiful. If I’m lonely, I feel complete with that song. I love you Justin, I’ll love you forever. You are all my life, thank you for all my Kidrauhl. Thank you very much. I’ll always be there for you. -Valentina Read the original post: My name is Valentina, I’m 14 years old and I’m from…

‘I’ve learned so much about song structure from Dream,’ G.O.O.D. Music MC tells MTV News from his studio. By Nadeska Alexis, with reporting by Rahman Dukes The-Dream and Pusha T Photo: MTV News Pusha T is laser-focused on his debut album at the moment, trying to craft a cohesive musical project. But if you thought the G.O.O.D. Music signee would hole up in the studio with his boss, Kanye West, think again. Over the weekend, MTV News caught up with Pusha in Atlanta, where he was in the studio working closely with The-Dream. The two first linked up when producer RicoBeats sent one of Push’s tracks to Dream for a feature and eventually collaborated on a few more things. In addition to lending his vocals to the album, The-Dream has been guiding Pusha through the recording process, helping him take his work to a new level. “It really started with this beat [from] Rico. We were like, ‘Yo, Dream would just sound amazing on the record, period.’ So we sent it out and it came back so quick. Dream was like, ‘Man this is one of the ones,’ ” Pusha recalled. “Personally, I never thought the record was going to come back that quickly. I was in New Orleans somewhere and Rico was like, ‘Aye! Dream did it — he on the phone!” I thought, “OK, wait a minute this might really be something.” Pusha wouldn’t reveal exactly how many tracks the two had banked together, but he explained why the R&B singer/producer is the perfect fit for this album. “Musicality, to me in general, is missing, but [Dream] is a musician, he’s a fundamentalist. I’ve really taken on the student role,” Pusha continued. “I feel like I’m in with the best of the best. You’ve got Dream on one end, you’ve got Kanye on another end, and you can learn so much. I really look at myself as just a rapper’s rapper, but I’ve learned so much about song structure from Dream. ‘This is the most I’ve ever rewritten,” he added. “I wrote the ‘Automatic’ record, sent it to Dream, and he was like, ‘Aye, you rapping too damn much,’ and I’m like, ‘OK.’ How [would you not] listen to the writer of everything? How [would you not] listen to the producer of everything?” The-Dream was just as enthusiastic about working with Pusha on the album. “I always personally felt like he was one of the best at what he did, period,” Dream said. [There’s] lots of guys that are great from a rap standpoint, but in songs they’re not as great. Sometimes [you need to say], ‘Hey, move this part here and this is your hook,’ or ‘Let’s write about this, or let’s tap that emotion and let’s not rap past the emotion of where it is.’ ” For the producer, who has banked countless hits for stars like Rihanna and Beyonc

Another night of standing O’s for Ledet, more catcalls for Hollie Cavanagh and high praise for Phillip Phillips. By Gil Kaufman Joshua Ledet performs on “American Idol” Photo: FOX Wednesday night’s episode of “American Idol” offered definitive proof of what happens when you give the kids the keys to the Lambo: they crash and burn. On an evening when the themes were as vague as any we can recall (California Dreamin? Songs You Wish You’d Written?), the top four either went obscure or doubled-down on the most obvious choices possible, which made for an uneven night. A few things became crystal clear, though: based on the girl squeals, Phillip Phillips could win this thing in a walk-off without singing another note as long as he loses his razor, smiles and keeps clothes shopping at J.C. Penny. Similarly, Joshua Ledet pretty much has it in the bag, while Hollie Cavanagh has run out of luck and Jessica Sanchez should perfect her third-place finisher pageant smile and wave. It’s also pretty clear at this point that the dream is over for some and just about to come true for others. But who will be packing up their clear heels and headed home and who should prep their awkward bro hug posture? Read on to find out! Joshua Ledet : Of the thousands, maybe tens of thousands of “California Dreamin'” songs Josh could have picked, he picked a song that is the musical equivalent of a cardboard and mayonnaise sandwich: Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up.” It felt overwrought, over serious, overcooked and just no fun. The kid can sing, but by the end I was just over it. He more than made up for it with James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.” Yeah, it’s another dusty, nearly 50-year-old oldie, but it’s dead-center in his lane and his voice was made for this kind of gritty, throwback soul. We asked last week if that’s what people really want to hear in 2012 , but at the very least Ledet put on a showcase for his powerhouse soul simmer and shout. He sang it and he sold it. Sorry girls, it’s gonna be Josh and Phil facing off in two weeks. A- Phillip Phillips : It’s always dicey when Phil puts down the guitar. Just like he doesn’t know how to dress like anything other than the guy fixing your HVAC system, the pawn shop kid can’t figure out what to do with his hands. His surf bum take on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” was … fine. It felt kind of like something you’d see in a San Diego beach bar on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The judges, as usual, were charmed, which makes me think he has incriminating photos or something. Hey, Randy, smiling isn’t singing. I’ve been writing about music longer than Jessica Sanchez has been alive and I can honestly say I’ve never heard of “Volcano” by Damien Rice. That’s the song you wish you’d written, Phil? Frankly, it sounded like everything Phillips sings to me, which is to say that it came off like a pretty decent Dave Matthews cover. The grit and passion were there, but the song never achieved lift-off. Can you really imagine being mesmerized by scruff and a smile for 90 minutes? B- Jessica Sanchez : Talk about overcorrecting. Sanchez was like a long-haul trucker snapping up out of deep sleep after hitting a guardrail and almost jackknifing the rig. She went from too sexy and grown up last week to just … too old. Her cover of Etta James’ “Steal Away” was, as the late, lamented Simon Cowell would say, “cabaret.” The Cirque du Soleil-worthy two-tone pants suit was weird and the song just made her seem like she was singing to her extended family in the living room while trying to make granny proud. The old soul and bluesy heart were there, but it felt more like an off-Broadway musical revue than a concert. And, c’mon, Jessica. The “‘Idol’ slayer?” We should have added Jennifer Holliday’s “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” to our list of songs that must be retired from the “Idol” repertoire. Jennifer Hudson crushed it in “Dreamgirls,” Tamyra Gray and LaKisha Jones also made it their you-know what on the show. Despite all that, BeBe Chez gave it her all and did a good, but not great, job of it. She hit the notes, served up the emotion and got all angry with it, but it just felt a bit, well, obvious. B- Hollie Cavanagh : The kid knows how to suck up to the judges, that’s for sure. Picking Journey’s “Faithfully” was a guarantee that Randy would be on board. Too bad HCav face-planted on the melody, losing the spark she showed last week and looking as bored and lost as we felt. The big notes at the end almost saved her. Almost. Jennifer called the performance “laid back,” but to me it just felt like she was laid out. The bottom line is you can make someone look like a star, but you can’t make them act like one. You know what can make Hollie seem like a cool, contemporary star? A 22-year-old song by Bonnie Raitt! Between the baggy black Chicos pantsuit and the violins, “I Can’t Make You Love Me” was another off-the-Vegas-Strip snoozer that most surely punched her ticket home. And the crocodile tears near the end were whatever the opposite of a nice touch is. Pip pip, little one! The top six tackled Queen songs and their own picks; here’s how they did. By Gil Kaufman Joshua Ledet performs on “American Idol” Photo: FOX It was clear from the opening medley on Wednesday night that Queen night was going to be a struggle for some “American Idol” top six. Ironically, it was the three leading contenders , Joshua Ledet, Skylar Laine and Jessica Sanchez who seemed most uncomfortable, which did note bode well for the evening. With the only real sort of-rocker, Colton Dixon , booted last week, that meant it was do-or-die time for anyone hoping to make it to next months’ finale. And despite a shaky start, Ledet may have punched his card to the finale, where he is likely to face slow-and-steady Phillip Phillips, while Sanchez and Laine just kind of coasted. Despite what Steven and Jennifer said time-and-again, none of these performances are likely to go into the “Idol” all-time vault, but a decent night all around. So, who deserves a coronation? Who fell down and broke their crown? Read on for our “American Idol” report card! Joshua Ledet : Once again, Ledet nailed it, taking a song that could have seriously tripped him up and wrestling it to the ground with some old-school soul. The bass-slapping Sam Cooke run through “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” was crazy good and the vintage mic was a real nice touch. This dude’s got it so in the bag that he sang an obscure India.Arie song, “Ready For Love” that features the lyric “respects the spirit world,” and he still killed it (softly). The only way this guy doesn’t make it to the finale is if his voicebox has a run-in with Metta World Peace’s elbow. A Jessica Sanchez : “Bohemian Rhapsody?” Wow, really Bebe? The Polly Pocket diva picked the dragon slayer and, well, brought a dagger to a sword fight. The first part sounded like a Beyonc
