Sean Hannity Wishes NewsBusters a Happy 5th Anniversary

Sean Hannity on his radio program Wednesday wished NewsBusters a Happy 5th Anniversary. As he talked to a caller about his Freedom Alliance, he thanked NewsBusters for helping to debunk smears against him and his charitable organization. Moments later, he expressed his gratitude for NewsBusters’ efforts in “challenging the mainstream Obama-mania media” (audio embedded below the fold): SEAN HANNITY: By the way, thanks to NewsBusters and Erick Erickson at RedState, my buddy. I mean, they’ve gone there. As liberals, they even attack fundraising for the military with distortion and lies. And they went out there and said, “Excuse me, you’re forgetting there’s $15 million in this trust fund. Sorry.” You know, then they try to purposely distort the numbers. By the way, it’s the fifth anniversary of NewsBusters, and we want to say Happy Anniversary to them. Thank God there are people out there challenging the mainstream Obama-mania media. NewsBusters thanks Sean as well as his executive producer James Grisham and engineer Greg Ahlfeld for their well wishes.

Rebecca Tarbotton Takes Over At Rainforest Action Network

Rainforest Action Network has a new Executive Director to help it take on some of the worst corporate polluters, Rebecca Tarbotton. RAN is a Bay Area-based advocacy group, started in 1985, that operates sort of like a pack of jackals–its campaigners jump on a target’s back and won’t get off until it submits. In the past few years RAN has taken on the big banks that are funding the coal industry, like JP Morgan and Chase, and it has worked to protect the world’s most vulnerable rainforests, like those in Indonesia that are home to endangered orangutans and tigers…. ABC, NBC and CBS Ignore Report That Government Experts Opposed Drilling Moratorium

All three network news shows on Tuesday skipped a report that a group of experts consulted by the Obama administration opposed the government’s plan to halt deepwater oil drilling for six months. Only Special Report With Bret Baier covered the story. FNC reporter James Rosen noted a federal judge’s decision to overturn the plan: “The judge also rebuked the Obama administration for filing a quote ‘misleading misrepresentation’ in the case by suggesting an expert panel supported the moratorium when a majority of its members do not.” ABC’s World News, CBS’s Evening News and NBC’s Nightly News (as well as Good Morning America, Early Show and Today) all highlighted the judge’s ruling, but none of them mentioned the opposition from eight out of the 15 members on the panel. CNSNews.com’s Edwin Mora explained: The eight experts outlined their objections in a June 8 letter to Louisiana Sens. Mary Landrieu (D) and David Vitter (R) and Gov. Bobby Jindal (R). “A group of those named in the Secretary of Interior’s Report, ‘Increased Safety Measures for Energy Development on the Outer Continental Shelf,’ dated May 27, 2010 are concerned that our names are connected with the moratorium as proposed in the executive summary of that report,” the experts said in their letter.

Starz television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand premiered on January 22, 2010 and it’s based on the historical character of Spartacus. In the series Executive producers Robert Tapert and Steven S. DeKnight tried to focus on the events of Spartacus. In the end of last year it was announced that the show was renewed for a second season. This announcement was made even before premiering. American Idol Producer: Adam Lambert Should Be a Major Star!

With the talent level low and the contestants so similar, this season of American Idol has been considered a bore by most viewers. Ratings certainly reflect a drop in interest. For that reason, producers are praying Adam Lambert will deliver a much-needed dose of excitement tonight, as he plays mentor to the remaining finalists. But Ken Warwick tells Entertainment Weekly that he’s also counting on the reverse coming true: he hopes the Lambert’s appearance on the show will resurrect this singer’s sidetracked career. “The guy is an incredible talent, and he had an incredible following. And it kind of upsets me that at the moment he’s not doing quite as well,” the executive producer said . “I don’t know what possessed him to do what he did at the AMAs , but he’s still struggling to live it down. “Hopefully… we can start putting him back firmly where he belongs, as a major star. Because the guy is an incredible talent. He genuinely is. And it kind of breaks my heart to see someone with that much talent struggle a bit. So hopefully we can do back for him as he can do for us.” Adam Lambert returns to the stage that made him famous this week. Aside from mentoring tonight, Lambert will return to the American Ido l stage tomorrow. From there, it’s off to the GLAAD awards Saturday evening for another performance. Wrote Adam, regarding the event: “GLAAD has advocated for out music artists, including myself, and I am proud to be part of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards this year. GLAAD’s work to share stories that grow acceptance and understanding about the gay and transgender community is so important in our culture today.” Will tune in to watch Lambert on Idol this week?

The Volkswagen Polo was named World Car of the Year. The proclamation at the New York International Auto Show comes at a time when car makers give emphasis to small and fuel sufficient cars. The Polo is Volkswagen’s most popular subcompact. It has good proportion, uncomplicated design and it is also elegant. It’s a small bubble of a car that follows a formula that has worked for the German manufacturer before. According to Charlie Vogelheim who is the executive editor of Intellichoice.com, the Polo vehicle is all about efficiency. Elin Nordegren Won’t Show Up at the Masters

As Tiger Woods is getting busy preparing his return in the golf course at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, which will be on April 8, Elin Nordegren, his wife, has other plans. Unfortunately, according to a source, Nordegren doesn’t want to be in the Masters. In fact, she has a different plan that has been set up. She is preparing for a trip to Sweden to see her family and friends. Her husband Tiger, had asked her to attend the Masters even if for a half day; just to make it appear that she is somehow interested in making his come back in the world of golf, but she decided not be there. Instead of publicly showing her support for Tiger, she would rather choose to fly in a commercial airline just to keep a low profile on her way to Sweden, where her family lives.
