Tragic news out of the world of country music. Kylie Rae Harris, a popular artist in this industry, died from injuries she sustained in a car accident on Wednesday, September 4. She was 30 years old. The fatal crash took place in New Mexic, with Taos county dispatch confirming to E! News and other outlets that the incident occurred on State road 522 and that there was two fatalities: A 16-year-old girl and 30-year-old woman. The awful news was subsequently confirmed by Harris’ publicist, who issued the following statement: We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night. We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you. The singer, who leaves behind a six-year old daughter, actially Tweeted shortly before she died that she was low on gas at one point during her journey. “Fuel range is 46 miles and I’m 36 from the nearest gas station. Dear baby Jesus please don’t let me get stranded in NM,” she wrote. Her Instagram Story echoed a similar sentiment: “Current Sitch: Iffy.” A boomerang video showed she had “low fuel range,” with the red needle almost past empty. In another series of social media videos, the late artist explained why she was making this trek in the first place. She emotionally remember sitting in the backseat as a child as her dad, who’s now deceased, drove her down the very same road on which she ended up passing away. “Alright, I look a mess,” she said, adding: “It’s ’cause I’ve been crying! It’s okay though. It’s a good cry. “I just got to Taos, New Mexico, and I’m playing this festival here called the Big Barn Dance. I love this festival.” “But for those of you who don’t know,” she continued… “I spent the last 20 years of my life coming to Taos with my dad and my sister. “My grandparents lived here, my uncle still lives here. But basically, literally everybody that was here has passed away, except for my uncle, and including my dad.” Pretty eerie, huh? Harris released her self-titled EP in March. She previously told Billboard that the track “Twenty Years From Now” was inspired by her daughter, Corbie. “It scared me thinking that it was totally possible I could be gone before my daughter reaches that point,” she said this spring. “I want to meet my kid’s kids. Getting to the age your parents were when you were a child brings a whole lot of perspective.” Country star Maren Morris paid tribute to the Harris shortly after learning she had died, writing on her Instagram Story: Damn. I just heard the news and I’m in shock. @kylierh, you have always been so sweet and supportive of me. Your soulful voice and Texas beauty was always jaw-dropping, even when we were teenagers at the Larry Joe Taylor festival. Thinking of your family and your precious baby girl right now. Source: Prince Williams / Getty Brooklyn rapper Casanova is getting sued for assault. A woman claims the rapper and his entourage put hands on her in a New York City diner last year. According to the woman who filed the lawsuit, Casanova was the ringleader. Reports TMZ : The incident went down last August when Casanova and a group of friends sat down at the Good Stuff Diner. The alleged victim, Niya Rucker , says his group included 2 women who were not Casanova’s wife … and she thinks that’s why he went off on her. According to the suit, Niya was shooting an Instagram Live video of her meal … but Casanova “mistakenly believed” she was recording him and the 2 women. She says the MC instructed one guy in his group to “take whatever action” was necessary to get Niya’s phone … “including physical force.” Niya says the henchman put her in a strangulation grip, grabbed her phone and deleted the video she’d already posted. She also posted a video of the aftermath, showing her mouth and chin bleeding profusely. In the lawsuit, she says she suffered a fractured jaw, damaged teeth, loss of consciousness, a split lip and several other cuts. Rucker is suing Casanova for assault and battery. No specifics on how much money she is seeking. Back in August 2018, shortly after the incident occurred , Casanova turned himself in and was booked for felony second-degree robbery. However, the case has not yet gone to trial. Casanova has denied putting hands on Rucker. Expect this to be settled out of court.
