On The Party Scene: Coco Lets It All Hang Out As She Shows Off Her Bangin’ Bawwwwdy By The Pool With Her Loving Hubby Ice-T [Photos]

Wanna see Coco in a bikini? Of COURSE you do! Ice T and Coco Hang Out Poolside At Foxwoods Resort In Connecticut It’s summertime, and thanks to sweltering heat, ladies like Coco are more inclined to wear less clothing than normal. While hanging out in Connecticut at the Foxwoods resort, the reality TV couple took their talents poolside and Ice’s better half (MUCH better) paraded around in a nice, black and gold, barely-there, bikini while male on-lookers cheered, and female guests turned California Kush green with envy. It’s crazy to think that these two have been married longer than other couples who were thought to be “perfect” for each other. Maybe Tom, Katie, Seal and Heidi should have taken some lessons from them. Images via SplashNews

Injured ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Actors Speak Out

‘The last thing I remembered was … going, ‘Oh, God,’ ‘ Christopher Tierney tells CBS 2 News of his 30-foot fall onstage. By Terri Schwartz Natalie Mendoza poses with “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” lead actor Reeve Carney Photo: Bruce Glikas/ FilmMagic After several weeks of intense press coverage, two of the injured stars of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” have spoken out. Christopher Tierney, who was injured on December 20 after he fell a reported 30 feet, was released from the intensive care unit of Bellevue Hospital Tuesday and has been staying in a rehab facility since. CBS 2 News was the first to interview the dancer and stunt double in a package set to air Monday night (January 3). “I was falling and then I saw once I hit the darkness of the stage I had to just turn it real quick so I wasn’t going to fall on my head and crash on my back,” Tierney recalled. “The last thing I remembered was like, uh, just going, ‘Oh, God.’ ” Because Tierney, 32, was able to pivot his body from the headfirst fall so he landed on his right side, he prevented a potentially fatal injury. Still, the accident resulted in a hairline skull fracture, four broken ribs, a bruised lung, internal bleeding and three cracked vertebrae. Tierney underwent back surgery December 22 and wore a full-torso brace as he conducted the interview. But Tierney was only one of four “Spider-Man” actors hurt during the preview performances of the show. Natalie Mendoza, the lead actress who played villain Arachne, was hit on the head with a rope during the show’s first preview performance and suffered a serious concussion. After she was unable to resume her role due to aftereffects of the injury, it was rumored Mendoza would leave the show. The actress made her departure official when she released a statement on Thursday. “It has been a difficult decision to make, but I regret that I am unable to continue on ‘Spider-Man’ as I recover from my injury. I wish Julie [Taymor, the director] and the cast and crew every success with this production,” she said. Taymor responded, ” Natalie is a talented performer. “We’ve appreciated her contributions to the show and we wish her all the best.” On Saturday, the head of Actors’ Equity Association (which represents many of the actors), Nick Wyman, took to his Facebook account to explain his perspective on the injuries. His statement was a response against those who blamed Actor’s Equity for the injuries sustained by the actors, defending the organization by saying that “our staff spent so much time at Foxwoods Theatre during rehearsals, I’m surprised the producers didn’t charge them rent. I have no idea how many potential problems staff cleared up or how many accidents-in-waiting they forestalled; I just know they were and are a powerful force for our protection and without them, the news from the Foxwoods Theater might have been much worse.” He added, “I have been very disturbed and distraught by the serious injuries sustained by our member Chris Tierney at the December 20th performance of ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.’ … That Chris is not the first actor, nor the second, but rather the fourth to be injured on ‘Spider-Man’ is frustrating and maddening and, to some, infuriating.” A spokesperson for “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment at press time.

‘Spider-Man’ Lead Actress To Depart Broadway Show

Natalie Mendoza leaving ‘Turn Off the Dark,’ New York Times reports. By Terri Schwartz Natalie Mendoza Photo: Bruce Glikas/ FilmMagic While one “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” actor is to Broadway’s most-expensive musical once he recovers from his injury, another is headed out the door. The New York Times reports Natalie Mendoza, the lead actress who after she was struck on the head with a rope, has been negotiating an exit agreement for days. Mendoza seemed to confirm her exit with the tweet, “Can feel a trip to India coming on & visiting my magic little orphanage Ramana’s Garden in Rishikesh. Raising funds as we speak. Be the change.” The Times learned of her departure from two people who work on the show and who spoke on the condition of anonymity. A spokesperson for “Turn Off the Dark” could not confirm to the paper that Mendoza is leaving, and a spokesperson for the actress declined to comment. The actress, best known for her role in “The Descent,” suffered a concussion November 28, and though she returned to the production three days later, she took another two weeks off after experiencing nausea and headaches. Mendoza played Arachne, the spider-villainess who becomes obsessed with Spider-Man. Director Julie Taymor created the character specifically for the mythology of the musical. The role required that the actress perform flying sequences while upside down, something she wasn’t able to handle after she was injured. Mendoza is expected to be replaced by her understudy, America Olivo. Mendoza wrote on her Facebook page Sunday that she was “almost back to normal” and had reduced her medicine intake to two nausea tablets and four painkillers a day. After a fourth accident December 20 sent stunt double and aerialist Christopher Tierney to the emergency room, the production instituted a series of new safety measures . Taymor released a statement saying, “Nothing is more important than the safety of our ‘Spider-Man’ family and we’ll continue to do everything in our power to protect the cast and crew.” Preview performances continue at the Foxwoods Theater in Times Square, and the musical’s official Broadway opening date is February 7. Check out everything we’ve got on “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”

‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’ Actor Recovering As Show Goes On

Stuntman Christopher Tierney is walking again after suffering multiple broken bones in a fall during a performance last week. By Terri Schwartz “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” Photo: Marvel Thanks to new safety measures put in place on the set of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” the Broadway musical’s preview shows continued on without incident over the holiday weekend. Several “Spider-Man” performances were canceled last week after stuntman and aerialist Christopher Tierney fell an estimated 20 feet and suffered severe injuries during a show last Monday (December 20). Tierney’s father, Timothy, told The New York Times in a phone interview on Friday that his son walked for the first time since the accident with the help of a walker and a brace. The actor had undergone back surgery on Wednesday to treat three fractured vertebrae he sustained in the fall, and had been expected to remain in the intensive care unit of New York’s Bellevue Hospital Center until Monday (December 27). Christopher Tierney also suffered a hairline fracture in his skull, a broken scapula, a broken bone close to his elbow, four broken ribs and a bruised lung. “My understanding is that Chris is fortunate to be alive,” Timothy explained to The Times . Apparently, the 31-year-old had been falling headfirst from a platform after the safety tether to his harness malfunctioned, but he managed to land on his right side in the basement below the stage of the venue — the Foxwoods Theater in Times Square. Timothy Tierney also spoke with The Associated Press about his son’s injury, and said that the musical’s cast and crew were “eagerly waiting [Chris’s] return. “He just felt so blessed to be part of this whole creative process, and he just cannot wait to get back and perform in the show,” Timothy added. Timothy also said doctors were “cautiously optimistic” that his son would eventually resume his career, but the performer will take a while to heal. “We just feel very blessed that Chris is alive and well, and thank goodness that he knew enough to roll onto his right side and land that way rather than land on his head or back,” Timothy said. “Some people fall from a lesser height than Chris and suffer more damage, even fatal damage.” On Wednesday, meanwhile, “Spider-Man” director Julie Taymor issued a statement and wished Tierney a safe recovery. Preview performances continue at the Foxwoods Theater this week as the days tick closer to the musical’s planned official opening on February 7 . The $65 million production features music written by U2’s Bono and The Edge.

U2 Talk ‘Emotional’ 360 Tour, Tease New Album

When the band returns to the U.S. in May, they ‘may even have a new album.’ By James Montgomery Bono Photo: MTV News For nearly their entire career, U2 have only known one way of operating: in the hugest way humanly possible. They’ve set records and broken banks with their music, their videos and their expansive, all-encompassing tours. The same can now be said about “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark,” Bono and The Edge’s first foray into the world of Broadway. Though it has just begun rehearsals , the play has already made headlines for its budget (a reported $60 million), lavish costumes and over-the-top staging , which sees Spidey battling foes and soaring high above the audience at the Foxwoods Theatre. To Bono and The Edge, however, the scale of their “Spider-Man” show isn’t really all that different than what they’ve been doing for more than 30 years now. Case in point, their eternally running 360 Tour, which just began its fourth leg (hitting New Zealand and Australia) and will return to the U.S. in May. And when it does, U2’s dynamic duo promise that it will be worth the wait. After all, they may even have a new album to promote. “When we were here last year, we were just getting used to how to play like that,” Bono told MTV News. “We did some really good shows, [but] they just keep getting better and better, though, we’re getting harder and harder; tougher. More attitude, more punk rock and more emotional, in another way. This strange thing has happened as the tour’s went on; we’ve been playing new songs. We may even have a new album by the end of the tour.” That would presumably be one of the three new albums the band is working on, though Bono wouldn’t reveal which would see the light of day first. Instead, in true U2 form, he championed the revelatory nature of the 360 Tour. Because, really — and, in their case, eternally — the show’s the thing. “The thing about the 360 Tour is, the spectacle is not actually this spaceship that lands in the middle of the stadium … the spectacle is the crowd, and the ability of the crowd to see each other and involve each other,” he said. “There’s this kind of call and response that goes on with the band and the crowd, and this sort of strange electric shock that goes through the stands, like a big Mexican wave of music that just travels around this virtuous circle.” Are you looking forward to new music from U2?
