Grandma and Grandpa got some ‘splainin’ to do… Indiana Boy Abducted When He Was 5 Is Found 19 Years Later Via NYDailyNews An Indiana woman whose young son was abducted 19 years ago was screaming and “jumping up and down” after learning he was living in Minnesota under a different name, her husband said Thursday shortly after police announced they had found him. Richard Wayne Landers Jr. was just 5 years old when he and his paternal grandparents, who were upset over custody arrangements, disappeared from Wolcottville, a town about 30 miles north of Fort Wayne. Indiana State Police said the now 24-year-old Landers was found in Long Prairie, Minn., thanks in part to his Social Security number. His grandparents were living under aliases in a nearby town and confirmed his identity, investigators said. Police declined to say whether the grandparents would face charges, citing the ongoing investigation. Landers’ mother, Lisa Harter, was “jumping up and down for joy” when investigators told her a few days ago that her son had been found, her husband Richard Harter told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. He said his wife is “the happiest woman on earth.” What the hell was up with these shady azz grandparents?!?! Police said the boy’s paternal grandparents, Richard E. and Ruth A. Landers, abducted him in July 1994 because they were “upset over pending court proceedings” regarding his placement. Police spokesman Sgt. Ron Galaviz said it appears the boy’s father was never in the picture. Lisa and Richard Harter had married a year earlier. Authorities believe the grandparents took the boy from their home in Wolcottville and fled. They were charged at the time with misdemeanor interference with custody, which was bumped up to a felony in 1999. But the charge was dismissed in 2008 after the case went cold. My name is Brittney and I still cant believe this is real. I have looked up to Justin since late 2009. As soon as I heard about Bieberfever.com I joined. Later I found out that if you were a member, you could enter a contest to meet Justin. I thought there was no way possible I would win. I was wrong. The day of the concert which was July 13th 2010 at 7:21am I received an email saying “Congratulations Justin Bieber fan.” I was FREAKING OUT and nobody believed me. I remember telling my mom and she couldn’t believe it. I was really hoping it wasn’t a joke and I couldn’t wait for it to be time to leave to go to the concert. Once we got there we were waiting in the M&G line waiting for someone to come get us. After hours of waiting someone came and got us and I was shaking. My mom got to meet him too which was really cool . We then had to wait in a long line once we got inside. We say Kenny and then Justin! Once it was our turn I didn’t know what to do. I really thought I was dreaming. I WAS MEETING JUSTIN BIEBER. I walked in and stood next to him on his left and he didn’t say anything but it was okay because I know I would have stuttered. I gave the present that I got him to Kenny who was really nice. After the picture was over I couldn’t stop thinking about meeting him but I still had the concert to look forward to! At the time I was 14 and he was 16. A few months later for my 15th birthday I was surprised by my grandparents and they flew me to California (Ontario) to see him perform again. WHAT!? Now this was really insane. I couldn’t contain my excitement. After two months of waiting for October 24th to arrive I was preparing myself to not be able to meet him again, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. Then the morning of the concert I kept refreshing my email hoping for an email that I won. It wasn’t coming and then IT CAME! I won again and I was getting to meet JUSTIN AGAIN!! I still thought it wasn’t going to happen but I started freaking out even more and started telling everyone and everyone was in TOTAL SHOCK. My grandma was going with me and she was excited to meet him to and was telling all of her friends. I wanted to make sure we weren’t late so we arrived at the venue at 1:00 and the M&G wasn’t until 5:00. We were the second people to get there and we saw Justin’s bus pulled in and kind of stalked him. My grandma was driving and I pushed her knee down to drive faster (which probably wasn’t a good idea) but we got really close and I saw Kenny! His bus pulled into where I couldn’t go so we got out and went to wait in line for the M&G. IT WAS TIME TO GO IN! We met a couple people in the line and decided we would be in the same picture. Me on his left and another girl on his right. The first time I didn’t really stand close to him, then the second time I put my arm around him. Once I did that I was like shaking and couldn’t believe I actually put my arm around him. We walked in the room and he said “Hey guys, how are you doing?” Of course I said “jwubribfrgv” my words weren’t coming out right. HAHA! At least I can laugh about it now. I really wanted to ask him for a hug but I chickened out. We took our picture and left. I didn’t think I was going to be nervous meeting him a second time but I was. Then I heard him announce his BELIEVE tour and I was really hoping he was coming back to Washington. Then I saw: Tacoma Washington, October 9th 2012. AHHHHH. My idol was coming back! I thought I would try my luck again and enter the bieberfever.com contest. The day before the concert I was sitting in class and got the email. I was totally flipping out and had leave class and call everyone and tell them. Everyone thought I was dying I was freaking out so much! I am so blessed to have gotten this opportunity once, let alone 3 times. The third time was the best experience for me. I was with my friends and I hugged him this time! Best 5 seconds of my life! Ellen Douglas has passed away. The Mississippi author, whose novel Apostles of Light was a 1973 National Book Award nominee, was 91 years old. Douglas, who cited fellow Mississippi native William Faulkner as a literary influence, was actually just the pen name of Josephine Ayres Haxton. She took a pseudonym to guard the privacy of her family. For good reason, it turned out. Douglas’ Mississippi-set work dealt candidly with race relations, families and the role of women, and was controversial. Douglas grew up in Hope, Ark., and Alexandria, La., and spent summers with her grandparents in Natchez, Miss., where the family’s roots reached back generations. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1942. She wrote 11 books, including six novels and several collections of short stories and essays. Apostles of Light is a complex novel about the mistreatment of residents at a home for the elderly in fictional Homochitto, Miss., the town in many of her works. “If you don’t have conflict, you don’t have fiction,” Douglas told The AP in a 2005 interview about race relations and other forces that helped shape literature. State Rep. Steve Holland, a funeral director handling arrangements, said Douglas died after an extended illness . He said she would be buried in her native Natchez.

Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is considering NOT taking a plea deal because it would effectively end her reality TV career , according to reports. Amber is supposed to be released from jail into the care of a halfway house this week after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance. She may end up changing her plea, however, so she can continue shooting Teen Mom as much as possible, sources tell E! News . Why on Earth … Portwood, who faces up to five years in jail if she violates probation, is not going to change her plea because she wants to sit in a cell instead. It is true, though, that the drug court that’s allowing Portwood to rehabilitate at the halfway house has ordered the facility not to allow cameras. For Amber Portwood , this is a very big deal. Last week, she said she had been under the impression that she would be allowed to live with her grandparents and film Teen Mom while fulfilling the terms of her sentence (counseling, regular check-ins with the court, etc.). Being ordered to a halfway house caught her by surprise. In order to stay out of jail, she was ordered to spend eight months at the halfway house and get a full-time job … one that does not involve TV. The third season of Teen Mom is set to premiere April 3, so that would leave Amber SOL and without the paycheck she’s come to depend on. As such, Amber decided Saturday that she may rather “do her time now and get it out of the way,” and the halfway house is “not the right place for her.” It wouldn’t be the full five years, presumably, if she did agree to serve jail time. We are probably talking about a couple of months, tops. After which, she would be free to film, without stipulations. “The system doesn’t want Amber to succeed,” a friend said. “She needs to stay in the entertainment industry. There are no jobs in Anderson (Ind.). She needs to finish her schooling. She can’t do all of that with a $7-an-hour job.” Baby daddy Gary Shirley currently has custody of her daughter, Leah.
“Not those party favors… Mom!” The mother of an 8-year-old Madeira Elementary student was arrested at the school Tuesday afternoon on drug possession charges. Police arrived at the school just prior to dismissal after staff reported a parent was intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Police said staff members heard Emily C. Rosenberger, 31, making “snorting” sounds in a bathroom stall. When she came out, staff members said she exhibited strange behavior. Police said Rosenberger was attending a Valentine’s Day party at the school, where her daughter is a student. Police said staff members promptly removed Rosenberger from the students’ presence and notified police. “The principal called; actually, I took the call,” said Madeira Police Chief Frank Maupin. “She said they were concerned. A parent was there visiting and they heard strange noises in the bathroom.” Police said Rosenberger was in possession of hydrocodone, OxyContin, oxycodone and white powder that tested positive for cocaine. Police said she also had a large sum of cash on her. “I’m concerned if she is, in fact, selling these drugs, it’s bringing people into her neighborhood that aren’t desirable to be there,” Maupin said. Rosenberger was charged with three counts of possession of drugs and one count of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Court records indicate Rosenberger had in her possession a straw with white powder inside. She was transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center. Bond was set Wednesday at $2,500. Rosenberger was ordered to stay away from her children, and she must be electronically monitored if she is released. Rosenberger’s daughter was released to her grandparents upon dismissal Tuesday, but police said just a month ago, the child’s grandmother, Stephanie Rosenberger, was in trouble with the law, too. Police said Stephanie Rosenberger smashed through a Pilates business and drove home with debris dangling from the hood, finally parking in her driveway several blocks away. “They located her vehicle in the driveway with part of the building still on the hood,” Maupin said.
