Source: Jeff Greenberg / Getty Say goodbye to your local bodega attendant, the machines have arrived for his job. The first Amazon Go store opened in Seattle today after nearly five years in development. There are no checkout lines or cashiers. Shoppers simply grab and go. Re-Code explains how it works. Amazon Go, a high-tech version of a 7-Eleven, will finally open on Monday — with no checkout lines and no cashiers https://t.co/wkXHl6X6Ex pic.twitter.com/jCkKUSbuP8 — Jason Del Rey (@DelRey) January 21, 2018

Tonight in NYC: Jason Statham and Movieline at the Apple Store!

Sure it’s cold and snowy and otherwise appalling outside in New York right now, but sometimes you’ve just got to suck it up, get out of the house or office and catch a live Jason Statham interview at the Apple Store SoHo . I’ll be there moderating, so please prepare your trenchant questions about his new film The Mechanic (among other topics) accordingly. The party starts at 6 p.m.; as always, it’s free to get in, but seats are first-come, first-served. We look forward to seeing you!

Greta Gerwig on Girl Crushes, Movie Sex, and Going Mainstream

Last year’s Greenberg may have marked Greta Gerwig’s entrance into mainstream cinema — when you come from the world of making nano-budgeted improvised films with your friends, a Noah Baumbach project is a big film – but 2011 will be the year the indie darling truly goes Hollywood. In this week’s friends-with-benefits comedy No Strings Attached , Gerwig stands out as Natalie Portman’s level-headed BFF ; in April, she’ll play the object of Russell Brand’s affections in Arthur . And next month, she’ll vie for her first major acting award at the Spirit Awards, nominated (opposite No Strings Attached co-star Portman) for her work as a winsome Los Angeleno in Greenberg .

Real Housewives of New York Reality Check: How to Know Your Psychic’s a Fake

Last week on the Real Housewives of New York City , Ramona’s eyeballs actually jumped out of their sockets Mask -style, and Jill got a contact high off of LuAnn’s condescension. But the tone of last night’s episode, “Stay On Message,” was far more serious. A tabloid leaked Bethenny’s pregnancy and she spent the rest of the episode depressed in bed and full makeup. Bobby schvitzed through a cable-access interview. Kelly wore even shorter shorts than last week. And Sonja empowered viewers by telling them they are never too old for designer knee-high boots. In short, the episode was inspiring and educational. After the jump, Movieline sifts the through Tru Renewal plugs and scam psychics to find the truest and fakest moments.

First Thor Image Kind of Reminds Us of Someone

If you’re still wondering why Kenneth Branagh was hired to direct the big-budget adaptation of Marvel’s Thor , perhaps the first image of the character will convince you.

Noah Baumbach Abandons Penguins

If you were intrigued by the notion of Noah Baumbach reuniting with his Greenberg star Ben Stiller for an out-of-character adaptation of the children’s classic Mr. Popper’s Penguins , here’s some bad news: the LAT says Baumbach is now off the project. A shame. We really would have liked to see Mr. Popper destroy those pet penguins with some passive-aggressive psychological warfare. [ LAT ]

Noah Baumbach and Ben Stiller Team Up to Raise Mr. Popper’s Penguins

If you didn’t get your fill of hipster kid-lit adaptations with Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox or Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are , you’ll be happy to know that this trend has one more trick up its sleeve. According to Variety , Ben Stiller is set to reteam with his Greenberg director Noah Baumbach (who also cowrote Mr. Fox with Wes Anderson) on a film version of the 1938 classic children’s book Mr. Popper’s Penguins, written by Richard and Florence Atwater’s Mr. Popper’s Penguins .

Elegant Princess Zelda Cosplay

Cosplay costumes tend to be geeky, and sometimes they also venture into the trashy. But this one is just plain elegant . Not to say it isn't a little bit geeky too. ( Via .) View

‘Between Two Ferns’ with Ben Stiller

Fresh from the best SNL monologue in millennial history, Zach Galifianakis is back with another episode of his Emmy-winning talk show. I'm almost ready to forgive Ben Stiller for Greenberg now. View
