Source: Peopleimages / Getty As a celebrity makeup artist, I’ve been asked quite often how frequently one should wash their personal makeup brushes. My response is always the same: Wash your brushes as frequently as you wash your pillow cases . However, how to wash them however, wasn’t always an easy reply. In the beginning, I remember attempting to wash my brushes with the same bar of soap that I used to wash my body. For me, it’s Dove ($6.19, target.com ). Since the product worked so well on my skin and kept me clean, surely it would break down the build-up on my brushes. Right? I tried this a couple times and found myself in the bathroom for far too long. Rinse after rinse it took too many tries to get my dingy brushes like new again. After a couple of tries, I realized that I was just going to have to use something stronger. The next best thing would be dish soap. That worked like a charm and got my dirty white brushes white again, but then I noticed them slowly loosing bristles over time. It was obvious to me that the dish soap was drying out the hair of my brushes. I’d spent a lot of money on those suckers and needed them to hold up! Not to mention, my Beauty Blender sponges ($20.00, macys.com ) that were $20 a pop STILL wouldn’t get cleaned by anything other than the official soap that the company makes. Those bars of soap ($16.00, ulta.com ) cleaned my brushes and blenders marvelously but they were not affordable, especially for how fast I was moving through the product. Thus, I like many other girls just gave up washing my brushes as often as I should. Oh come on! Don’t act like you haven’t gone a month or longer without washing your brushes! It’s easy to do when you realize how time consuming it can be and how costly it is to purchase soaps that are meant to wash the hairs of your brushes. Once I became a working makeup artist I gathered up a collection of brushes meant only for clients and realized that I’d have to come up with a solution for cleaning my brushes. I’d be using them on multiple faces and needed them to be clean for each use for sanitary purposes. After some trial and error I narrowed it down to baby shampoo ($4.99, target.com ) for my brushes and the official Beauty Blender bar of soap ($16.00, ulta.com ) for my Beauty Blender ($20.00, macys.com ). The baby soap was strong enough to get my brushes clean but not too strong that it would dry them out. Still, it took a few washings before I could get them to be REALLY clean. One day I was traveling with a client. I had been working with this particular celebrity for some time and I was in and out of hotels with her. I realized after a long day on set that I’d run out of my bar of soap to wash my Beauty Blenders. It was late and Sephora wasn’t open so I used my only option…the bar of soap provided by the hotel. Within seconds of working up a good lather I realized that this bar of soap was cleaning the hell outta that sponge better than the official bar of soap! I grabbed a white bristled brush and tried using the soap on it. In seconds the brush was back to white! SECONDS! With my baby shampoo it took a few washings! The next morning I approached a maintenance worker and asked for more soap for my room. She gave me one bar. “Do you think you could spare any more of them?”. By the end of my stay I’d racked up at least 10 bars. It wasn’t long before I realized that it wasn’t just that hotel’s soap that cleaned my brushes and sponges. It was ALL hotel soap. So why would hotel soap work but not my Dove soap?! Simply put, because its cheap. Cheap soap cleans brushes and sponges best. I put this theory to the test by going to the drug store and purchasing the least expensive bar of soap they offered: Dial soap at .99 cents a bar. Now, all of these years later, that is my go-to product to clean my brushes and my sponges. The best part? Dial soap ($1.99, target.com ) is antibacterial too. WIN WIN! The only down side is that it is somewhat drying. I counteract this conditioning my real hair brushes every now and again. It’s real hair so you can condition it! Back in June, Joe Duggar and Kendra Caldwell announced that they were expecting baby #2 to be a girl . Well, the long wait is over! Kendra and Joe have welcomed their newborn into the world! Us Weekly reports that on Saturday, November 2, Kendra Caldwell gave birth to the newest Duggar grandchild. They ushered the sweet little girl into the world at 5:33 AM. The precious newborn is named Addison Renee. At birth, she weighed 7 pounds and 12.5 ounces and measured 20.5 inches in length. Joseph and Kendra released a joint statement to share the happy news. “Addison Renee has made us a family of four,” the couple gushed on Monday. “And,” they continued, “we are already so in love with her!” “She made a quick arrival in the early hours of the morning,” the couple noted, “and has already melted our hearts.” Joe and Kendra were sure to acknowledge that they weren’t the only ones welcoming the little girl to the family. “We know Garrett is going to be a great big brother,” the couple affirmed. In keeping with their brand, the couple expressed: “Children are each a special gift from God.” Their statement concluded: “And we are so happy our newest blessing is here.” Back in April, Joe and Kendra confirmed that they were expecting. “We are ready to double the fun at our house!” the couple shared excitedly. As previously documented, Christine Brown has lost a lot of weight. But someone very close to the long-time Sister Wives star is now hoping Christine loses something else in the near future: Her wedding ring. And the commitment that comes along with it. The veteran TLC personality, who rarely shares photo with spiritual husband Kody, is the subject of a new interview between Radar Online and Kristyn Decker. The latter is both Christine’s aunt and also the author of Fifty Years in Polygamy: Big Secrets and Little White Lies . She’s someone who grew up in polygamy, only to finally escape 33 years after she married her first husband. In other words: This is not some random critic of Christine, Kody and their unusual lifestyle… … this is someone who can speak from personal experience. Now that she’s happily in a monogamous marriage, Decker is calling on her estranged niece to do the same. “I was still in polygamy when Christine joined,” Decker tells Radar of watching her relative become a Sister Wife. “She looked happy. I thought, ‘She’s crazy about Kody, so go for it!’ Even as a believer, I wanted to privately to go tell them to run. I knew how crazy and insane it was. “You don’t know what you’re getting into. I wish I would’ve warned people.” Many observers have offered similar critiques for Christine and the three other women who shares Kody as a husband. But almost none of them have known the life of polygamy in the way Decker has, which is why her words are garnering national attentoon. “It’s a miserable-happy life,” she explains in this article. It’s a tragic and vicious and emotionally-damaging cycle. Kristyn went on to tell Radar how the Brown family belongs to is called the AUB, which stands for Apostolic United Brethren. She said that while physical abuse is common, it is “not as common as emotional and mental abuse.” “Polygamy is a system of abuse overall,” she says. “Mental, emotional, and spiritual. The groups believe their leaders are the right ones and the others are wrong. Overall, polygamy is a system that’s harmful to men, women, children and society. “You will live in polygamy and the women will be submissive. The women must let the men have other wives or they’ll go to hell.” Sounds about right, doesn’t it? Helps explain why Meri Brown always sounds so sad, doesn’t it ? Kody married first wife Meri in 1990. Second wife Janelle joined the family in 1993. Christine married Kody in 1994. Then, Robyn joined the family in 2010. These two legally married in 2014 — meaning Kody had to divorce Meri — so he could adopt Robyn’s children from a previous marriage. In the family’s tell-all memoir, Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage , Christine opened up about the ups and downs in their marriage. She admitted that Kody’s marriage to Robyn really took its toll on her. “When Kody started courting and then married Robyn it really rocked me. I gave birth to Truely and was suffering from extreme postpartum depression,” wrote Christine, adding: “I’d never thought I’d feel such a sense of loss and such crippling jealousy. I just want peace.” Understandably upset at being called “the worst” on national TV, Roger responded in a statement issued to Us Weekly : “You don’t spend almost a decade of your life with only one person then just never care about them again,” he said. “You can act like you do but you’re probably lying,” Mathews added. “Hatred spawns from love.” To be fair, Jenni never actually said that she hated Roger, but it’s not hard to see how he might have surmised such animosity on the basis of her comments. But while we can see why Roger might be offended, he really doesn’t have any right to be. The best thing he could do at this point is take a tip from old-school JWoww and just take a seat on the sidelines while the drama unfolds. Last month, the 90 Day Fiance Season 7 teaser trailer certainly got us all excited! When it aired, we noted that there seemed to be at least one couple missing from the lineup. This new trailer confirms that we were right. But none of us could have guessed that the other couple would be Michael and the infamous Angela! 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way fans are still reeling in horror after Angela Deem allegedly physically attacked a castmate at the Tell All. But for some reason, as this trailer reveals, Angela and Michael are back on the show. Despite an age gap and some major cultural differences and Angela's abhorrent behavior, they're still a couple. With her temper, fans can only hope that she never finds an egg to tote. She's done enough damage already. Angela and Michael's shocking inclusion in this season is not the only new information in this trailer. Anna and Mursel are dealing with Mursel's reluctance to tell his conservative family that Anna has children from a previous relationship. His family would disapprove, and even though he is a grown man, this is a problem. Anna is shown lamenting that perhaps she was not meant to be happy. (Girl, you can be happy without a husband, but whatever) Blake and Jasmin are one of this season's younger couples. The first trailer teased that some of Blake's friends are concerned that Jasmin is just using him to come to the US. Specifically, to Los Angeles — where Blake lives and also where Jasmin's sister already lives after winning the immigration lottery. In this trailer, we see one friend tell Blake straight to his face that maybe Jasmin considers him to be her “lottery.” We already know a lot about Emily and Sasha , including that they have children. Sasha, of course, already has two other children … with two other baby mamas. His first wife has real concerns about his patterns. In this trailer, we see more than just lovey-dovey baby bumps and hot and steamy thirst traps. We see friction between the two of them. We also see Emily hearing the sensible message that she doesn't have to marry her baby daddy. At all. Michael and Juliana are this season's largest, most uncomfortable age gap relationship. (Hey, at least she's in her twenties) We had already heard that Juliana might have some issues as she gets to know Michael's family. Well, it turns out that Juliana gets more or less admonished to not engage in any sort of parenting, even if she marries Michael. While setting up boundaries is important, that seems like an untenable situation for Michael's future wife — assuming that they make it. Mike and Natalie look like they're going to have serious drama. (Also, three Mikes in one season? Get a new name, people!) The first teaser didn't show anything close to the massive red flags that some of the other pairings have. In this trailer, however, Natalie gets asked a fateful question by a producer: “Do you love Mike?” Natalie hangs her head in silence. Mike stands up and walks away, suggesting that he is done with the whole situation. Robert and Annie have a somewhat curious relationship. The first trailer made her look like a golddigger, but Robert's history of near-miss evictions make some question if he has any gold to offer. Here, someone close to Robert speaks frankly to Annie, and she does not take it well at all. It looks like Annia is going to be a handful, and we don't just mean in her lingerie scenes. Tania and Syngin's story begins very sexily, and we don't fault Tania for spending months on vacation boning a hot bartender. But it turns out that they have different ideas about what to do, from Syngin not yet having a job to Tania's biological clock. They're an extremely age-appropriate couple, being just months apart, which is rare for this franchise. But clearly, their ages and hotness can't make up for what they lack in compatibility.
