Sister Wives: A New Season (And New Drama) Coming Soon!

It’s been a very, very, very long time since we’ve been blessed with a new episode of Sister Wives. How have we even survived without seeing the Brown family and all their wild and crazy polygamy drama? It’s a mystery for the ages. Believe it or not, the last new episode of Sister Wives aired all the way back in January. Yep, it’s almost been a whole entire year since we saw anything new from these people. We’ve barely heard anything about them, either — sure, there have been plenty of rumors, and of course the big things like Maddie’s new baby and Mariah’s new girlfriend are going to go public. But besides those few stories and the odd report that Meri, Janelle, Christina, and/or Robyn have finally come to their senses and plan on leaving Kody … Well, it’s been a dark year for Mormon gossip, we’ll say that. Thankfully though, 2018 is really looking up! After months and months of cancelation rumors — and no real word one way or the other from the Browns — TLC went and dropped a trailer for the new season yesterday! The premiere will be on January 7th — less than a month away! The trailer opens with footage of Mykelti’s wedding , which happened nearly a year ago to the day. We see Kody walking her down the aisle, and it really does look like a beautiful ceremony. Next, we see Mariah work up the courage to introduce her girlfriend to her parents! “Yep, Mariah has a girlfriend,” Christine acknowledges in an interview — and she doesn’t really seem too happy about it. Which is kind of hard to understand, because in the brief bit of footage we see of Mariah with her girlfriend, they look pretty happy and adorable together. Next, Maddie gathers the whole family — or most of them, anyway, it’s kind of hard to do a quick headcount when five spouses share 18 kids — to tell them she’s pregnant! She unzips her hoodie to reveal a little “Baby on Board” sign she slapped on her stomach, and everyone is very excited. All of that is great and wonderful and lovely for sure, but where’s the drama? Where’s that good ol’ Sister Wives strife that makes the show worth watching? Don’t worry, Meri is about to bring it! In the next little section of the trailer, Meri tells Robyn that she plans on opening a bed and breakfast back in Utah (remember, the family moved to Las Vegas a few years ago). She seems really excited about it, but later we see Christine tell her “You’ve been struggling to find your place in the family. Do you think that having something like this … it’s not going to make you more connected, and you haven’t really been connected.” She sure hasn’t, and for good reason. All the way back in 2015, she and Kody, the only ones who were legally married, divorced so that he could legally marry Robyn. That was the only way he could adopt her three children from her previous marriage. They made it clear that it wasn’t a traditional divorce — they’d still be spiritually married, it’s just that Robyn needed that legal marriage more than Meri did. But you could still tell that it hurt her feelings. Even before that though, she seemed to be pulling away from Kody and the rest of the family. Part of the issue was likely the fact that she was only ever able to have one child, Mariah, and she’s all grown up and out of the house now. So while the other wives had their houses full of children and Kody’s attention on their little ones, Meri lived all alone except for the couple of days a week she was able to spend with her husband. It’s no wonder she ended up getting catfished . It’s been over two years now since Meri admitted that she’d been in an emotional relationship with someone online, and that that person turned out to be a woman who’d been lying to her. And, as we’re seeing now, that relationship is still causing issues for Meri, and also for her relationship with Kody. Elsewhere in the trailer that keeps on giving, Kody reveals that “Meri’s ready to go back into a deep and intimate relationship, and I’m not.” “I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Meri says later. “And I feel like I’m just kind of walking in the dark.” It’s all very sad, but in a sweet moment, her sister wives pull her aside to tell her that “No matter what is happening with you and Kody, we still love you.” And then finally we see Maddie giving birth in a bathtub at one of the Brown family homes. It’s … it sure is something. Can you even wait to see this family back on TV?!

Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott: Fighting Over Where to Spend Christmas!

After hearing that Travis Scott can’t deal with Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy hormones and has even turned to Kanye for advice on how to deal with Kylie, it’s not a huge surprise to hear that the expecting couple is fighting. Especially since they apparently can’t agree on where to spend Christmas (which is in just 10 days). Travis and Kylie haven’t been dating long, so this is in fact their first Christmas while also being their last before the baby’s born. Will this pair of expecting parents split before they even name their daughter? Kylie Jenner is pregnant with Travis Scott’s baby, and the news has turned Kylie’s life upside down. She’s a 20-year-old hottie who’s accustomed to looking a certain way. Now, she’s apparently so insecure about her radically transformed pregnant body that Kylie just plans to hide out for a while — possibly until the baby’s born. And perhaps even for a while after. (Kylie totally deserves a break, since she’s spent a decade as one of the most famous humans on the planet, but it’s sad to hear that she’s doing this because of body image issues) Kylie’s still been surrounded by her family and her closest, most trusted friends. Anyone else, and she might worry about someone betraying her by snapping photos of her baby bump. One person who hasn’t been spending as much time with her lately has been Travis Scott. He’s still touring. One imagines that he planned these concerts earlier this year and had zero plans to impregnate his then 19-year-old girlfriend. He might have not even been seeing Kylie yet. As we mentioned when we discussed Kylie Jenner’s reported misgivings about the pregnancy , Travis Scott is probably going to stay busy with performances, off-and-on, right up until the due date. While it’s nice for Travis to plan on spending time with his newborn, Kylie wants to see him here and now. Being there for your child should always be your first priority, but you should also be there for your girlfriend. HollywoodLife  reports that Christmas threatens to tear the couple apart. According to their source close to the couple: “The one thing they’re having a little friction over right now is where to spend Christmas day.” That’s a big decision for any serious couple. “He wants to be in Houston with his family and he wants her to come with him.” Travis has reportedly offered to fly Kylie to Houston on a private jet (which is nice, though seriously how else would she get there?) If Kylie and Travis remain a couple in the long term, they could set up plans to alternate between their respective families on holidays. But this is their first Christmas. Kylie, whose feelings are doubtless amplified by pregnancy hormones, is broken up about it. “She’s trying to keep her cool about it, but she will be hurt if he doesn’t spend Christmas with her and the family.” Kylie lives very, very close to many of her relatives. She’s probably needing to feel near them even more than usual right now. And Kylie doesn’t want to do Christmas separately. “They’re not going to have New Year’s together because he has a show in Miami.” It sounds like she’s accepted that he won’t be with her to ring in 2018, at least. “So, she’s hoping that she’ll get to have him with her for Christmas.” It makes sense. Honestly, beyond emotional neediness and craving the familiar, she may just be nervous about traveling and being away from her family at this stage of her pregnancy. “She feels like it’s only fair.” Of course, while we don’t have the same inside scoop on Travis’ thoughts, we can imagine how he sees this. He’s already spending time away from his whole family. Some while touring, some while spending time with Kylie. Sure, Travis and Kylie went to Houston and we’re sure that they visited Travis’ family then, but we don’t imagine that he sees his family as regularly as Kylie sees hers. And once their baby’s born, he’ll be spending even less time outside of Calabasas. He might see this as a great time to spend some quality time with his family before the overwhelming duties of being a new parent begin. That’s a fair point, too. Kailyn Lowry & Javi Marroquin: We BOTH Cheated on Each Other!

At one point, Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin were considered one of the most stable couples in the Teen Mom franchise. Oh, how times have changed. These days, Kailyn and Javi have been divorced for over a year, but they seem unable to stop rehashing what went wrong in their marriage. Part of the problem is that fans are still intensely interested in learning every detail of Lowry and Marroquin's drama, which means there's an extensive market for their tales of marital woe. It's a state of affairs (no pun intended) that's led to some very surprising revelations… 1. Kailyn and Javi In Happier Times Even after their divorce, Kailyn and Javi briefly managed to maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship. Sadly, those days are long over… 2. Cheating Rumors Allegations of infidelity led to the dissolution of Kail and Javi’s marriage, and it seems those suspicions are still preventing the former couple from reaching a place where they can be civil with one another. 3. Another Deployment Javi is soon to be headed overseas for another tour of duty with US Air Force. No doubt he and Kailyn would like to iron out their differences before he leaves, but it’s a task that may prove impossible. 4. Briana Drama Part of the problem, of course, is that Javi is currently dating Kailyn’s rival and Teen Mom 2 co-star, Briana DeJesus. 5. Boot Camp Blues Javi and Kailyn appear on the current season of Marriage Boot Camp, despite the fact that their marriage is long over. Their stated goal was to improve their co-parenting relationship, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. 6. The Truth Comes Out On tonight’s episode, Kailyn and Javi will both submit to lie detector tests. Needless to say, the interrogations did not go smoothly… View Slideshow

AP Exclusive: Under Desk, CIA Found Video of 9/11 Plotter Being Interrogated in a Secret Prison

AP Exclusive: Under desk, CIA found video of 9/11 plotter being interrogated in secret prison ADAM GOLDMAN, MATT APUZZO Associated Press Writers August 17, 2010|12:45 a.m. WASHINGTON (AP) — The CIA has tapes of 9/11 plotter Ramzi Binalshibh being interrogated in a secret overseas prison. Discovered under a desk, the recordings could provide an unparalleled look at how foreign governments aided the U.S. in holding and questioning suspected terrorists. The two videotapes and one audiotape are believed to be the only remaining recordings made within the clandestine prison system. The tapes depict Binalshibh's interrogation sessions at a Moroccan-run facility the CIA used near Rabat in 2002, several current and former U.S. officials told The Associated Press. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the recordings remain a closely guarded secret. When the CIA destroyed its cache of 92 videos of two other al-Qaida operatives, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Nashiri, being waterboarded in 2005, officials believed they had wiped away all of the agency's interrogation footage. But in 2007, a staffer discovered a box tucked under a desk in the CIA's Counterterrorism Center and pulled out the Binalshibh tapes. A Justice Department prosecutor who is already investigating whether destroying the Zubaydah and al-Nashiri tapes was illegal is now also probing why the Binalshibh tapes were never disclosed. Twice, the government told a federal judge they did not exist. The tapes could complicate U.S. efforts to prosecute Binalshibh, 38, who has been described as a “key facilitator” in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. If the tapes surfaced at trial, they could clearly reveal Morocco's role in the counterterrorism program known as Greystone, which authorized the CIA to hold terrorists in secret prisons and shuttle them to other countries. More significantly to his defense, the tapes also could provide evidence of Binalshibh's mental state within the first months of his capture. In court documents, defense lawyers have been asking for medical records to see whether Binalshibh's years in CIA custody made him mentally unstable. He is being treated for schizophrenia with a potent cocktail of anti-psychotic medications. With military commissions on hold while the Obama administration figures out what to do with suspected terrorists, Binalshibh has never had a hearing on whether he is mentally fit to stand trial. “If those tapes exist, they would be extremely relevant,” said Thomas A. Durkin, Binalshibh's civilian lawyer. The CIA first publicly hinted at the existence of the Binalshibh tapes in 2007 in a letter to U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema in Virginia. The government twice denied having such tapes, and recanted once they were discovered. But the government blacked out Binalshibh's name from a public copy of the letter. At the time, the CIA played down the significance, saying the videos were not taken as part of the CIA's detention program and did not show CIA interrogations. That's true, but only because of the unusual nature of the Moroccan prison, which was largely financed by the CIA but run by Moroccans, the former officials said. The CIA could move detainees in and out, and oversee the interrogations, but officially, Morocco had control. CIA spokesman George Little would not discuss the Moroccan facility except to say agency officials “continue to cooperate with inquiries into past counterterrorism practices.” Moroccan government officials did not respond to questions about Binalshibh and his time in Morocco. The country has never acknowledged the existence of the detention center. Morocco has a troubled history of prison abuse and human rights violations. A government-created commission identified decades of torture, forced disappearances, poor prison conditions and sexual violence. And this year's State Department report on Morocco notes continued accusations of torture by security forces. But current and former U.S. officials say no harsh interrogation methods, like the simulated drowning tactic called waterboarding, were used in Morocco. In the CIA's secret network of undisclosed “black prisons,” Morocco was just way station of sorts, a place to hold detainees for a few months at a time. “The tapes record a guy sitting in a room just answering questions,” according to a U.S. official familiar with the program. That would make them quite different from the 92 interrogation videos of Zubaydah and al-Nashiri being subjected to waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics. Binalshibh was captured Sept. 11, 2002, and interrogated for days at a CIA facility in Afghanistan. Almost immediately, two former CIA officials said, Binalshibh exhibited mental instability that would worsen over time. When FBI agents finally had a chance to interview Binalshibh, they found him lethargic but unharmed. “He had a certain toughness about him, like he didn't care,” said Raymond Holcomb, a retired FBI agent who spent five days alongside the CIA with Binalshibh in Afghanistan and wrote about it in a forthcoming book, “Endless Enemies: Inside FBI Counterterrorism.” Though Binalshibh was uncooperative during his early interrogations, his interviews formed the foundation for parts of the 9/11 commission report. One official said he also provided intelligence about a plot to crash aircraft into London's Heathrow Airport. Binalshibh spent five months in Morocco in late 2002 and early 2003, the first of three trips through the facility during his years in CIA custody. Since his incarceration was established at Guantanamo Bay in 2006, Binalshibh has appeared increasingly erratic. Court records show him acting out, breaking cameras in his cell and smearing them with feces. He has experienced delusions, believing the CIA was intentionally shaking his bed and cell, according to court records and interviews. He has imagined tingling sensations like things were crawling all over him and developed a nervous tic, obsessively scratching himself. Nine years after his capture, there is no indication when Binalshibh and other admitted 9/11 terrorists will face military or civilian trials. Binalshibh and other accused 9/11 conspirators have openly admitted their roles, praising the attacks. Binalshibh and the others have asked to plead guilty, a move that would head off any trial and almost certainly guarantee the videotapes never get played in any court. http://www.gotgeoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/9-113.bmp added by: EthicalVegan

Obama’s Afghanistan "black" jail confirmed by IRCC

Earlier this week, the International Red Cross confirmed the existence of a secret “Black Jail” within the Bagram prison complex in Afghanistan, where high-value detainees were held and allegedly abused. Since then, additional details have continued to emerge. The New York Times reported last November that former prisoners and human rights researchers had described how prisoners were held at the facility for weeks at a time without being allowed outside contact. The BBC also obtained accounts from prisoners who said they had been subjected to isolation, sleep deprivation, and cold. The American vice admiral in charge of detainees, however, continued to deny both the existence of a separate facility and the allegations of abuse until the International Red Cross confirmed the claims. Now The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder has been able to paint a clearer picture of the facility. His sources tell him that it is run by the Defense Intelligence Agency's Defense Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Center (DCHC), whose operatives perform the interrogations on behalf of a subunit of the”elite counter-terrorism brigade” known as Task Force 714. Task Force 714 was formerly commanded by General Stanley McChrystal, who now leads US forces in Afghanistan. According to Ambinder, DCHC is a “relatively new organization,” which absorbed many of the previous functions and staff of the Counterintelligence Field Activity after CIFA was accused of spying on American political groups and was implicated in the Duke Cunningham scandal.
