The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 14 Recap: Big Trouble in The Big Easy

So… that was quite the disappointment, wasn’t it? The CW hyped  The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 14 as a major crossover event, with Stefan finding his way to New Orleans in order to avoid Rayna Cruz. And this aspect of the hour was not a let down. It made sense for Stefan to take shelter in Klaus’ favorite bar because its magical powers made it impossible for a locator spell to track him down there. And it was fun to see these old friends (enemies? Let’s just call them frenemies …) banter back and forth. It was also jarring: remember when Klaus first arrived on the scene in Mystic Falls? And he was billed as the most fearsome for our heroes would ever encounter? Who ever could have guessed he’d end up anchor The Originals as a protagonist? Talk about a character who has come a long way. After learning that Stefan was on the run from The Huntress, Klaus initially went off on his drinking buddy, questioning why he dared to bring such a dangerous problem to New Orleans. But after he tossed Stefan out on the street, he ended up on the phone with Caroline and realized that she really did care about Stefan. So if Klaus really did care about Caroline, as we all know he does, he’ll go lend the marked vampire a hand. That’s how we concluded this episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 7 , with Klaus telling Stefan they were going to see a witch who could help with his Rayna Cruz problem. View Slideshow: 15 Best Shows in CW History: Ranked! It was the rest of the episode that pretty much sucked. Caroline accompanied Alaric to Dallas with his twins, clearly taken by the kids she birthed and clearly interested in staying with them. We know this is what happens due to the flash forwards, of course, which removes a great deal of the drama ahead. Yes, it was cool to see awhile back that Caroline is engaged to Alaric and that they are raising daughters together. But that shock has now worn off and we’re left with a storyline whose ending we already know. The worst storyline this week, however, centered on Enzo. It turns out that he’s been working with some mysterious group called The Armory because the woman in charge promised him information about his family in exchange for his help capturing Rayna Cruz. That’s it. That’s all Enzo needed to hear in order to turn his back on his friends. By sheer coincidence, the woman then told Enzo that his father founded The Armory and that she’s actually related to him. It was all felt very forced and very random, as if the writers knew they needed to find an arc for Enzo and just invented this out of thin air. Finally, we’ll supposedly see the last of Damon on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 15 because Bonnie nearly died saving his life and he’s sick of putting the lives of those close to him in jeopardy. But we clearly know Damon isn’t going anywhere. We’ll tune in next week just to see what Damon is talking about when it comes to disappearing forever, but if The Armory is really about to become a central focus of The Vampire Diaries, we may be tuning out after that.

The Originals Season 2 Episode 7 Recap: While You Were Sleeping

Elijah flashed back to his childhood and suffered through a restless day of sleep on The Originals Season 2 Episode 7 , courtesy of Esther’s witchy ways. When he awoke (courtesy of an antidote Klaus tracked down in the bayou), quite a few developments had taken place. To wit: Watch The Originals Season 2 Episode 7 Online KLAUS KILLED HIS FATHER . His biological dad followed Klaus out into the woods and helped him find the magic herb that would awaken ELijah. He talked to his son about the peace he would find as a werewolf and seemed to make a sincere impression on Klaus. But he also said that he knows Hope is alive (via his werewolf intuition or something) and this would prove to be his fatal undoing. Yes, Klaus believed that his father had honest intentions about helping to protect Hope. But what if Esther got a hold of him? What if she cast some spell on him and learned the truth? It was too risky. Klaus could not afford any chance his daughter would be in danger. So he sliced his father to death with a sword and left his corpse as a present to Esther. VINCENT AND KOL WERE CAPTURED . Hayley, Josh, Aiden and Marcel used Cami as bait to lure Vincent/Finn in, taking advantage of his feelings for his pupil. But they were nearly overpowered on their own once they had Vincent cornered in the church. So it’s a good thing Jackson accepted his responsibility as the alpha when he did, swooping in to rescue Hayley and giving Cami a chance to snap sme magic handcuffs on Vincent. Kol, meanwhile, spent more of the episode bonding with Davina. He showed her a tomb he used to frequent in 1914 and explained to her how he knows some dark magic. But he needs her help. Their chemistry makes them stronger as a team and, if they work together, they could make a dagger into the kind of weapon with which they could stab Klaus and leave him in a box. When you watch The Originals online , you’ll see how Marcel is able to apprehend Kol after he brings Davina home to sleep. So we left off with Klaus and Elijah smiling over their handcuffed brothers, planning to use them in some way against Esther… who captured Camille to close out the hour. The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: The Worst is Yet to Come

Neither of the Mikaelson brothers were left in a very good place to conclude The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 . Let’s start with Klaus: after eavesdropping on her phone call with Davina, he determined that Mikael had been taken to her family’s cabin for protection. So he went up there with Cami, the latter stopping for the two to bonds over some drinks first. Watch The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 Online And while it seemed like Cami was making progress in getting through to Klaus, explaining how he ought to appreciate the small things in life and how revenge won’t make him happy, Klaus ended up ditching her on the dance floor. He ran to the cabin and called out Mikael, who showed up after Kaleb (who was on hand to help Davina with a broken ankle) freed up from Davina’s spell. The fight was on! At one point, Mikael did stab his non-son with the white oak stake, but he missed the heart. Klaus retaliated by sticking Papa Tunda’s painful weapon into his non-father’s stomach. It made a home there and caused non-stop pain for Mikael. But Klaus did not kill him. He placed Mikael in a car’s trunk and drove away toward the end of the episode. Viewers, however, saw Mikael awaken, reach in and pull the weapon out. Elijah, meanwhile, agreed to help Hayley and a werewolf named Aiden. The latter had been charged by Vincent to help turn a number of children, who possessed the werewolf gene, into werewolves. This meant they had to kill at least one human. But Aiden didn’t like the idea, mainly because one of the kids was his little brother. So Elijah (and Marcel and Oliver and Josh) teamed up to combine forces and they were successful in leading the kids to safety. However, Vincent eventually caught up to Elijah and captured him along with Esther. He was left chained up when the episode faded to black, his mother saying she wanted the family to be back together, but only once Elijah and his siblings have been purified. ELSEWHERE: Gia is coming into her own as a character. Elijah taught her how to rip someone’s heart out this week. Vincent is still acting as Cami’s psychology professor person. Josh and Aiden are sort of hot for each other. They had been flirting on some dating app and then met at a bar after all the crazy werewolf/vampire action went down. What did everyone else think of this installment? The introduction of Aiden? The capturing of Elijah?
