Lindsay Lohan Reality Show: Ratings Plummet!

Lindsay Lohan has been working on a comeback now for longer than she ever had a career, so it’s safe to assume the actress was desperately hoping her self-titled reality series would win the public back to her side. Problem is, the public isn’t watching. Initial curiosity may have helped Lindsay’s ratings for its debut episode, but the show has seen a sharp, steady decline in viewership ever since. The show lost over 150,000 viewers (nearly a quarter of its audience) in its second week and not even the drama of Lindsay’s sex list could help her show ‘s third and fourth episodes, as even lower ratings are expected to be announced. To make matters worse, Lindsay is broke again, having reportedly blown through the $2 million paycheck she received from OWN. As an added embarrassment, Radar Online pointed out that the long-running Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants destroyed Lindsay in the ratings .  Lindsay fired her personal assistant and “sober coach” in the past few days and popular opinion is that the reality show that was meant to rehabilitate her career has actually served as the final nail in the coffin of her reputation. The Kim Kardashian-Kanye West wedding is set for May 24 in Paris. That is all we know for certain about the wildly anticipated nuptials. But a few new rumors are making their way around the Internet, highlighted by the alleged cost per guest: $75,000! Seriously! Oprah Winfrey, Ryan Seacrest, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Beyonce and Jay Z are among those supposedly set to receive invitations. No real surprises there. Kim and Kanye will likely to be licensing their wedding photos for profit, meaning these famous folks will be asked to turn in their cameras/phones to ensure nothing leaks to the media. Jay-Z: Cheating on Beyonce With Nicole Scherzinger?

A “blind item” rumor has gained traction on the Internet today with the claim that Jay Z cheated on his wife Beyonce with singer and former Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger. The unsubstantiated claim originated on the blog Crazy Days and Nights in its “Blind Items Revealed” section.  “Before there was [Scherzinger’s ex] Lewis Hamilton,” the post reads. “There was this A+ list rapper/producer/everything else who was engaged at the time but made sure our female celebrity/singer was well taken care of….Nicole Scherzinger/Jay-Z.” This isn’t the first time the ” Drunk In Love ” couple has been rocked by charges of infidelity. In August of 2013 a little-known female rapper named LIV claimed that Jay hit on her in a club but she rebuffed his advances.  “Jay hit me on some, ‘I’ll hit you when I’m in town’ while he is married to Beyoncé ,'” LIV said in a radio interview.  “For me, I’m not that chick.” Jay and Beyonce are currently the hottest couple in the world of hip-hop and R & B. They’re heavily featured on one another’s most recent albums and their daughter Blue Ivy Carter turned 2 in January. Neither Jay-Z not Beyonce has responded to the rumor yet, and it’s unlikely that either will, given the wild and thus far unsupported nature of the allegation.

Fort Hood Shooting: Four Dead, Fourteen Wounded

At least 4 people were killed and 14 more were injured when a gunmen opened fire at the Ford Hood Army base in Killeen, Texas. This is the second such incident on the base in 5 years.  The deaths were confirmed by US Rep. Michael McCaul who also stated that the suspected shooter, Ivan Lopez is among the deceased. No possible motives were given for the rampage allegedly orchestrated by Lopez, an active-duty soldier who worked as an Army truck driver. The incident marks the third shooting at a US Army post in less than 7 months. The previous shooting at Fort Hood resulted in 13 deaths and more than 30 injuries. Nadal Malik Hasan was sentenced to death for that 2009 killing spree. Army officials issued a statement earlier emphasizing that they are still investigating today’s incident and details regarding how and why this shooting took place are still forthcoming. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, speaking with reporters in Honolulu, called the shooting a “terrible tragedy.” When asked about the need for additional security on US military posts he added, “Obviously, when we have these kinds of tragedies on our bases, something’s not working.”

Lena Horne Dies … in 2010

Yesterday, the Sacramento Bee reported that legendary actress/singer Lena Horne died at the age of 92, citing an obituary in The New York Times . The only problem? She died on May 9 … 2010. It’s unclear how the Bee blew this, but Lena Horne began trending nationally and countless news outlets picked up the story (which they have since taken down). On Twitter, thousands of users mourned, tweeting condolences as if it just happened. “Just learned Lena Horne passed away. Saddened. A legend. A true star,” one wrote. “Crying so hard. I didn’t know that her death would affect me like this!” said another. This was followed by a collective, “Wait, didn’t Lena Horne die three years ago?” “LISTEN UP: Today, May 10, marks the THIRD ANNIVERSARY of the death of Lena Horne. Got it? Third anniversary,” one fan tweeted in response. Another fan of the actress sent out a similar rebuke, “Lena Horne died three years ago people. I’m judging you if you didn’t know that already.” This isn’t the first time Twitter has reacted to a false report of a celebrity death, but it’s the first we can recall in which the person was already dead. At least Lena’s legacy was remembered again?

BP Worker Found Dead After Heart Attack

BP worker found dead of natural causes (PHOTOS) June 28, 2010 9:52 PM Mona Moore Daily News DESTIN — A BP cleanup worker was found dead in his Village Inn room Sunday afternoon. The 48-year-old man’s identity has not been released. “There are no signs of foul play,” said Michele Nicholson, spokeswoman for the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. “I don’t think there was anything suspicious about it.” A spokeswoman at Mobile’s Unified Command said the death was not related to the oil cleanup. The Port St. Lucie man had a heart attack. He was discovered at 4:05 p.m. by a coworker after he did not show up to work. He was contracted through the Parsons Corporation.
