Source: Jupiterimages / Getty Christmastime is always perfect when it comes to getting adorable videos. Whether it’s something super heart-wrenching like capturing some intimate family moments or just those one-of-a-kind videos you only get when you’re around your whole clan, the content around the Holidays is worth waiting for year-round. One video that has become notorious around the holidays is the cutest little toddler opening up his gift, which just happens to be a wrapped avocado. If you haven’t already seen it down your timeline, he’s extremely relatable to everyone who ahs ever had to act excited for a gift they weren’t really expecting. IT’S AN AVOCADO https://t.co/gjUTqWnTes — jules (@3amshadows) December 25, 2017 That Vine has been a crowd favorite for years, and now it seems that little guy isn’t the only toddler who enjoys getting some fruit for Christmas. This video a Twitter user posted of his nephew opening a banana is just as cute, and he looks legitimately excited for his newest piece of fruit. I gave my nephew a banana for Christmas. I had avocado levels of success. pic.twitter.com/P7qIOUJw4m — Dustin Griffie (@dustingriffie) December 28, 2017 It doesn’t stop at just produce either, babies love all foods. This one toddler unwraps some Hawaiian rolls and his excitement is through the roof! Who can blame him though? I think we’d all be pretty ecstatic to be gifted some Hawaiian rolls…   Maybe I’m biased but my little cousin opening his rolls is just as cute and funny as the avocado vine. Enjoy the little things! Merry Christmas! pic.twitter.com/b2hIFmXUlv — michaela (@michh_rovv) December 24, 2017 Beside food, it’s pretty clear that a lot of babies are just happy to get any gifts at all on Christmas. Their pure little hearts are so joyous it teaches us how we should react whenever we get gifts. Here’s a bonus reaction from a heart-warming youngin’ who is the happiest camper over getting some underwear for Christmas. Enjoy! My little brother when I gave him underwear for Christmas :') pic.twitter.com/wer86j6vv2 — Laura (@LauraAngelicaE2) December 28, 2017

Lewis Hamilton Publicly Shames 4-Year-Old Nephew, Apologizes

Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton posted a video in which he appears to be shaming his 4-year-old nephew for wearing a princess dress that he got for Christmas. The backlash was immediate, though some were divided as to whether this upsetting video was sincere or just a really bad idea of a joke. Below, you'll see the video — the nephew is adorable , for what it's worth — and Lewis' apology. Lewis Hamilton is a Formula One racer. He's handsome, in a bargain basement Elliot Knight sort of way. He's British, he has piercings, and he's reasonably famous. There've been reports of Lewis Hamilton dating Kendall Jenner and he's also been linked to Rihanna. His life is a fantasy for most, so … why is he so sad in this video? As you'll see below, Lewis Hamilton records a Snapchat video. To be fair, it's not always easy to tell how sincere someone is being on social media, particularly in a very short video that seems to send some mixed messages. But his words are troubling. ““I’m so sad right now,” Lewis says. “Look at my nephew.” And then he shows his four-year-old nephew, to whom he appears to be speaking. “Why’re you wearing a princess dress?” Lewis demands. “Is this what you got for Christmas?” His nephew laughs and nods. “Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas?” This is when Lewis starts yelling, though since we can't see his face, it's difficult to tell what sort of yell it is. “Boys don’t wear princess dresses!” Whether Lewis Hamilton was sincere or not in his opinions, this video is troubling. Even if he was “play-yelling” with his nephew (he did spend part of the day playing with his nephew), his words were upsetting to a number of followers. The backlash on social media was immediate and powerful, and Lewis deleted the video and issued a three-tweet apology. “Yesterday I was playing around with my nephew and realized that my words were inappropriate so I removed the post. I meant no harm and did not mean to offend anyone at all. I love that my nephew feels free to express himself as we all should.” Even if you're joking (and he doesn't quite say that he was), some worried that his words could have had an impact on his nephew. 4 is a formative age. “My deepest apologies for my behavior as I realize it is really not acceptable for anyone, no matter where you are from, to marginalize or stereotype anyone.” It's important to remember that “boys don't wear dresses” is probably very similar to the last words that some men and trans women have heard yelled at them before they died. So … it's really not funny. “I have always been in support of anyone living their life exactly how they wish and I hope I can be forgiven for this lapse in judgment.” Honestly, I'm inclined to believe that he made the video in jest and didn't realize how people would perceive him. Not everybody's good at humor, folks. Dresses are cool, folks. They can be colorful, they move when you walk, and they're immeasurably more comfortable than pants. (Pants are nothing but leg prisons) The instant that it becomes widely socially acceptable for men to wear skirts and dresses, plenty of men will rush to wear them because they're great articles of clothing and it's silly to restrict them by gender. But we won't get to that place as a society solely through the work of pioneers like Jaden Smith. Part of what will lead to a more accepting world is not saying things to children like what you're about to hear in this video. Yes, even if you're joking.

Marc Lamont Hill Turns Entrepreneur

The rest is here:

M arc Lamont Hill , a noted figure in academia and on the media circuit, will become a businessman with the launch on Monday of his new coffee shop and bookstore in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Tribune reported “Coffee is a booming industry even if books are tougher. I developed a business model that presumes that Black people do read, that Black people will support a Black business but also that is tapped into a booming coffee market. Coffee is another thing that brings people together,” he said, commenting on his business plan. The professor recalled that his uncle, who died in 1994, introduced him to a wide range of Black literature and magazines that he didn’t encounter in school—all the while stimulating his nephew’s young mind about issues on race. His uncle’s home “was the first place that kind of opened up to me the idea of literacy being an expression of who we are as Black people,” the social commentator told the news outlet. Their numbers are declining—now at fewer than 60—even though there’s a resurgence of independent booksellers, according to Publishers Weekly . Hill lamented that only several dozen Black-owned bookstore remain out of the hundreds that once existed. He hopes that Uncle Bobbie’s contributes to reversing that trend. In addition to serving coffee and offering some of the best book titles, Hill plans also to host free author reading, youth poetry slams and film screenings. Wendy Pepper Dies; Former Project Runway Contestant Was 53

Wendy Pepper, a memorable contestant who competed on the very first season of Project Runway, has passed away. She was 53 years old. According to The Washington Post, the reality star – whose real name was  Anne Eustis Pepper Stewart – died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family members and loved ones. The cause of her death was not revealed in the newspaper’s obituary. But here is what a portion of the memorial article said: A finalist on season one of Project Runway, Wendy designed and hand-sewed exceptionally beautiful clothes for children and adults. She was a chef, a writer, and a life-long entrepreneur. Her wit and humor were unmatched, as was her generosity of spirit. Wendy is survived by her parents, Anne Livingston Emmet of Washington and Charles Willing Pepper of Palm Beach, FL; her loving daughter, Finley M. Stewart, of Middleburg, VA; her brothers Wing Pepper, Stacy Lloyd and Thomas Lloyd; her sister, Edith Pepper Goltra; and many adoring nieces and nephews. Pepper advanced to the finals at Fashion Week and ultimately came in third on the opening Project Runway season. While on the program, she won numerous challenges, including the change to have one of her designs sold at Banana Republic and the opportunity to design Nancy O’Dell’s Grammy dress. She was a fan favorite for sure. Along with the inaugural run of Project Runway, Pepper also made an appearance during the second season of Project Runway All Stars, which aired in 2012 and 2013. Moreover, she appeared on a pair of other Bravo reality shows: Celebrity Poker Showdown and Battle of the Network Reality Stars. The late chef and designer was born in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Potomac School, the Madeira School, and the University of Washington.  Said Pepper in a Project Runway All Star video many years ago: “I realized I was a designer when I was living in Nepal. “Dyeing some yarn, I suddenly turned to these people that I was living with and I started to drape the yarn. Oh my gosh, this is so much fun, I am creating this whole sort of experience with these women. For me, fashion is communication…That’s when I knew this was my life’s work.” She also said Project Runway taught her that “if you really want to succeed, you’ve gotta be willing to throw yourself into the arena.” Pepper will be laid to rest at a Georgetown church on December 1. May she rest in peace. View Slideshow: 27 Reality Stars Who Died Way Too Young

Ryan Seacrest Has Now Been Accused of Sexual Harassment

Ryan Seacrest is the latest famous name to face allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ubiquitous TV and radio personality has been accused of acting inappropriately with a former stylist. This same publication reports that the the alleged victim made a substantial financial request of Seacrest in exchange for her silence. The American Idol emcee and Kelly Ripa co-host refused said request. The unnamed woman worked as a wardrobe stylist for E! and says the incident took place about 10 years ago. No details about her claims against Seacrest have been made public. A spokesperson for E!, however, has confirmed that the cable network is conducting an investigation into the matter. And Seacrest has released a lengthy statement in his own defense. It reads as follows: Recently, someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me nearly a decade ago at E! News, came forward with a complaint suggesting I behaved inappropriately toward her. If I made her feel anything but respected, I am truly sorry. I dispute these reckless allegations and I plan to cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result. I treat all my colleagues with kindness, dignity, and understanding, as this is a principle that’s core to who I am. Throughout my 25 years in the entertainment industry, the majority of my co-workers have been women, and I’ve endeavored to foster a positive work environment of mutual respect and courtesy, as that’s how I believe it should be. I’m distraught that anyone or any situation would call that into question. I’m proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself. I’m an advocate for women. I will continue to support their voices. Seacrest, of course, is a very busy and successful producer and host. He currently sits each morning opposite Ripa on Live With Kelly and Ryan” weekday mornings on ABC; is scheduled to serve as host of that network’s upcoming revival of American Idol next spring. This news comes amid a wave of sexual harassment and assault allegations that have rocked Hollywood over the pastfew weeks, starting with back-to-back bombshell reports in The New York Times and The New Yorker that detailed allegations of sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein. Since then, accusations of misconduct have been leveled against such significant stars as Kevin Spacey, Lous C.K. and Jeffrey Tambor, just to name a few. We’ll update this story with more details as news breaks. View Slideshow: Weinstein Scandal: Which Powerful Men Are Accused of Sexual Misconduct?

Malcolm Young Dies; AC/DC Guitarist Was 64

Malcolm Young, one of the original members of AC/DC, has passed away. He was 64 years old. At this point, it’s not clear what caused Malcolm’s death, though we do know that he’d been suffering from dementia since at least 2014. It was then that his family — his brother Angus co-founded the band with him, and another Young brother, George, acted as a producer — announced he’d be leaving the band due to his health issues. In a statement released this morning, AC/DC wrote that “Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young.” “Malcolm, along with Angus [Young, Malcolm’s brother], was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band.” “As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man,” the statement continued. “He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted.” “He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.” In addition to the statement from AC/DC as a whole, Angus released one of his own. “As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life,” he wrote, “the bond we had was unique and very special.” “He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever,” he added. “Malcolm, job well done.” Yet another statement was released by the rest of Malcolm’s family — they referred to him as “a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired many.” “From the outset he knew what he wanted to achieve and, along with his younger brother, took to the world stage giving their all at every show.” “Nothing less would do for their fans.” Malcolm’s death must have hit the Young family especially hard — his older brother, George, passed away just last month. His death will no doubt be tough for AC/DC fans, because after all, he was a huge, huge part of the band. He and Angus formed AC/DC in 1973, and Malcolm played rhythm guitar all the way up until 2010 when they wrapped up their tour for their Black Ice album. Black Ice, released in 2008, was also the last album on which Malcolm was credited as a songwriter. Stevie Young, his nephew, replaced him in 2014 in time to record AC/DC’s most recent album, Rock or Bust. Our condolences to Malcolm’s friends and family — and, of course, all of his fans. Larsa Pippen: Mooching Off Kourtney Kardashian to Pay Bills?

Few things in life are more stressful, painful, or gossip-friendly than divorce. But one reality star felt the need to take to Instagram to claim that hers, at least, isn’t so bad that she has to rely on a little help from her friends. Larsa Pippen is more than just a reality personality with the name that surely belongs to a whimsical side-character in an epic fantasy story. She’s also a mother, a close friend of Kourtney Kardashian, and … had a fairly epic breakup last year. Recently, a story ran alleging that Larsa’s ex, Scottie Pippen, had cut her off during their divorce. Now, that’s a real thing that happens in so many divorces — it can be months before a court actually orders payments, and breadwinners can do all sorts of nasty things in the mean time to sabotage their spouses, from closing lines of credit to emptying shared accounts. To say nothing of custody fights, blackmail, and a host of other tricks and strategies that people employ to try to ruin the lives of the person they once loved. Divorce can be an ugly, ugly business. But apparently things aren’t nearly that bad for Larsa and Scottie, because Larsa took to social media to clear things up. “Where do they get this from!!” she captioned on Instagram. “So false.” Scottie’s attorney also confirmed to E! that the report was untrue . In fact, apparently Larsa and ex Scottie are working towards some sort of reconciliation. Considering that  police were called to their home at least twice  last October, we can’t wholeheartedly applaud them for trying to mend fences. Anybody can work past alleged cheating if they want to. But when the police are called, things are a lot more serious, even if it isn’t a domestic violence scenario. There’s just a lot that we don’t know about these two. But, yeah, if they’re having an amicable divorce and working towards reconciliation — which is almost always the advice that any ethical attorney gives — then that doesn’t sound like a scenario where Scottie would have cut her off. Let alone where Larsa would be mooching off of Kourtney. Surely Kourtney’s dealing with enough ex nonsense of her own. We’re not saying that we know for sure that the story was fake. Clearly, Larsa and Scottie would both have every motive to deny it even if it were true. “Fake news,” like imagined child sex-rings run out of non-existent basements , can be about anything. Though unfortunately certain people heard the stories that they’d latched onto described as “fake news” and started parroting the term, like toddlers who’ve just learned an obscenity, whenever they don’t like a headline. But a celebrity gossip story that turns out to not be true is usually super believable. It’s super believable that a woman would be financially cut off during a divorce. It’s similarly believable that her famously wealthy friend might help her out. If nothing else, it’s because so many fans can easily imagine Kourtney, who’s generally regarded as a nice person, supporting her friend during a tough time. And everyone who fantasizes about being rich tends to imagine the things that they could do for their friends. So, even if that story about Larsa was false, it still would have been believable to many people who read it. We have to say that it’s always interesting to see when a celebrity reacts to a story about them. A lot of celebrities remain dead silent about the news about them. Many, like Kylie Jenner, seem to exist in a bubble where they’re protected from most genuine criticism. What little they do see online, whether on Twitter or Instagram or wherever, they seem to dismiss as “hate,” even if someone has a valid point. Probably because an especially famous celeb might get thousands of hateful messages in a single day, and don’t have the time or energy to read them all, let alone consider which of the dozens or so that they do see might have merit. But Larsa noticed this and felt a need to respond. Kind of makes you wonder how often other stars see pieces about themselves but don’t reply, huh? Katherine Jackson: Held Against Her Will in Hotel by Greedy Relatives!?

For most people, going out to grab a bite of cheap food late at night is a regular habit. When 87-year-old Katherine Jackson was spotted doing it, however, it was nothing short of alarming. TMZ reports that the matriarch was spotted at a West Hollywood diner at 11pm on Wednesday night . She was seen in the company of one bodyguard and two women. That’s a long drive from her Calabasas home, particularly considering that she’s 87 years old and said to be fond of living at her home and having meals prepared by her personal chef. She’s reportedly living in a hotel near her Calabasas home. And apparently some family members worry that this is all part of a power struggle for control over Katherine herself … and, therefore, over the family’s considerable fortune. It’s horrible to think of what people will do to obtain access to and control over someone else’s money. Unlike a lot of crime dramas would have us believe, it’s very rarely about murder. In fact, when there’s an ironclad will in place, sometimes the worst thing for someone taking advantage of an elderly relative would be their death. Then they’d be left with nothing but their own inheritance. But by accessing the family fortune directly — gaining access to it with access to Katherine herself — they could have an unlimited money supply. Until Katherine has enough, that is. There may be good reason to worry about Katherine Jackson’s well-being. In addition to accusing her nephew and former driver, Trent, of emotional abuse, Katherine is said to have feared for her physical safety in retaliation for finally parting ways with him. But even out of Trent’s clutches, there may be others who are looking to take advantage of her and in particular to keep her away from her grandchildren. She’s been away from grandson Blanket so much recently that his sister Paris is reportedly concerned. It may be that other Jackson relatives are taking her under their proverbial wings and literal influence. They could be keeping her isolated and in some ways dependent on her. An 11pm visit to a diner isn’t a standard pit-stop for Katherine, but it’s possible that she isn’t calling the shots in her life anymore. But before we ring any alarm bells, we need to look at other possible explanations. First of all, 87-year-olds can absolutely stay up until midnight or later. They can also have food cravings — and even women who like formal meals might get the occasional hankering for something simple and greasy. The guard with her might be entirely her doing. After all, she’s a wealthy woman and she at one point stated that she was afraid that Trent would come after her. A bodyguard would help with that. Trent had complete access to her house and she might very realistically fear that he could still get in. She might also worry that he’s left monitoring devices behind. Sounds like a great reason to stay somewhere else to us. Ultimately, we’ll see, and just because we can think of alternative theories doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be concerned for Katherine Jackson’s well-being. Anybody who loves their grandmother wouldn’t want to think of her in this kind of situation.

‘Making A Murderer’s’ Brendan Dassey Released From Prison

Brendan Dassey Released If you’ve watched Netflix’s “Making A Murderer” then you’re well aware of Brendan Dassey, the nephew of Steven Avery who was “recklessly coerced” into a confession. Well now at 27, Brendan has been released in the rape and murder case of Teresa Halbach. The Daily Mail reports: A federal judge has ordered that Brendan Dassey – whose case was featured in the Netflix documentary Making a Murderer – be released from prison immediately. A federal magistrate judge ruled in August that investigators tricked Dassey into confessing he helped his uncle, Avery, rape, kill and mutilate Halbach, a photographer, in 2005. Dassey, who turned 27 Wednesday, was 16 at the time. The magistrate ordered that Dassey be freed unless prosecutors appealed or decided to retry him. Dassey was sentenced to life in prison in 2007. His uncle Steven Avery is still incarcerated for Halbach’s death. A lawyer for Avery recently shared however that they’re hoping to get some evidence tested in hopes of showing that it was planted. Agreed Testing Order entered on Monday for Steven Avery. #MakingAMurderer — Kathleen Zellner (@ZellnerLaw) November 12, 2016 What do YOU think about the latest “Making A Murderer” update???
