While we were all picking apart the Oscar Nominations and putting them back together yesterday, the busy distributors at Sundance were forging ahead, keeping their nose to the ground and making serious deals! The Sunset Limited Trailer, Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Tommy Lee Jones and an Apartment

Unfair as it may be, it’s often hard to get excited about movies that take place entirely in one or two rooms while two characters have it out verbally. That said, if you’re going to stick two actors in a room and film them, you could do a lot worse than Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. A source play by Cormac McCarthy ( No Country for Old Men , The Road ) doesn’t hurt either. For proof, just check out the totally riveting full length trailer for the Jones-directed HBO movie The Sunset Limited .

Fox Searchlight Acquires Aptly-Titled Another Earth

One more Sundance acquisition to start the morning: Fox Searchlight will be bringing Mike Cahill’s low-budget sci-fi film Another Earth to theaters. Starring co-writer Brit Marling, the film involves a promising MIT student who kills a talented composer’s family in a car crash the same night that a duplicate version of earth is discovered orbiting the sun. So yes, it’s not just some letdown-metaphor title! No release date on this one yet. [ Deadline ]

The 9 Batsh*t-Craziest Lines Heard at the Hobo with a Shotgun Premiere

“Let’s tear this place apart!” So instructed director Jason Eisener before Friday’s midnight premiere of Hobo with a Shotgun , the unabashedly campy Canadian-American grindhouse flick about a homeless drifter who cleans up the streets of a depraved urban metropolis with only a pawn shop shotgun and plenty of gloriously insane death-dealing catchphrases in his arsenal. And while it may have disappointed Eisener and Co. that an actual riot didn’t erupt before or after their film, they must have been pleased that Hobo played exactly right to just the genre-loving crowd it was made for.

Wonder Woman Twirls, Twirls, Twirls Her Way To NBC

Evidently there’s a thin slice of pie we didn’t quite see on Jack Donaghy’s NBC Programming Priority chart — Refusing & Then Immediately Picking Up A Superheroine Drama. After initially joining every network in America in turning up its nose at David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot, NBC changed its mind and has picked it up.
