Red Lobster And Olive Garden Profits Down Ever since Darden Restaurants — the owner of the Olive Garden and Red Lobster chains — first announced its anti-Obamacare campaign, the company has had a tough couple of months. Via ThinkProgress : Darden admitted as much when it revised its predictions for latest quarterly earnings down in December, attributing the drop to “recent negative media coverage on Darden and how we might accommodate healthcare reform.” The decline in traffic comes despite the company’s efforts to revamp the menus and marketing for its flagship chains. At Olive Garden, the company rolled out an updated advertising campaign and introduced more light and affordable dishes. At Red Lobster, it added options for people who don’t like seafood. The negative press led the company to reverse course on its threat to shift employees to part-time status to avoid covering them under Obamacare. The latest report on Darden’s earnings prove that was a good move, since the restaurants did take a turn for the worse as a result of their bad publicity. Its net income fell 37 percent Well, if around half of Americans support the president, including Obamacare, then it makes sense that being a greedy azzhole about it will potentially annoy half your customers. Annoying half your customers isn’t a good business decision.

10-Year-Old Boy Served Rum At An Indianapolis Olive Garden A waitress at an Indianapolis Olive Garden mistakenly served rum to a 10-year-old boy Thursday, police said. According to police, the boy had ordered a non-alcoholic wildberry frullato daiquiri for children but the waitress mistakenly brought back a drink that had rum in it. The child drank about 2 ounces of the 4 ounce drink before the waitress realized her mistake. The waitress told management about the error and the restaurant’s manager then told the parents. The manager reportedly said the child would be fine but the parents took the boy to the hospital just to be sure. Tests revealed the boy did have alcohol in his system, but that it equaled less than 1 percent. Officers said the child appeared to be fine, though he was a little shaken up. Police determined the waitress acted without any malice. Police also determined the family’s tab didn’t show that any alcohol had been ordered. Olive Garden released the following statement Friday: “We find this situation completely unacceptable and we are extremely upset that this occurred. “We have a zero tolerance policy for any violation of our responsible alcohol service policy, and the employee who served the wrong drink has been terminated. We are thankful that the child is OK and we will continue to work with the family to resolve this issue.” The mix-up came roughly a year after a mom said her toddler got a little tipsy after being served sangria at an Olive Garden southeast of Orlando, Fla. This is more like it, yesterday’s Whitney Port bikini pictures were nice and all but I didn’t appreciate the way her ass looked in her mom’s bikini bottoms , this time she gives us a nice peek at her sweet front meat. There’s just something about a hot chick getting out of a pool, all wet and cold adjusting her bikini that I love. I think it’s because it reminds me of when I was a teenager watching the neighbor girl swim, I still remember the nice firemen who helped me out of that tree.
