Mo Money: YG Gets His $20,000 From Birdman After The Rams Make It To The Super Bowl

Source: Gina Wetzler / Getty YG Received A $20K Payday From Birdman In A Football Bet YG  has a lot of reasons to be happy right now. The rapper received a $20,000 payday from Birdman, all from a little football bet. YG officially confirmed that his payment came in on his Twitter account on Friday. Birdman money kame In — STAY DANGEROUS (@YG) January 24, 2019 Last Sunday, January 20, the Bompton native posted a video of himself celebrating the Los Angeles Rams and their victory over the New Orleans Saints in their NFC playoff matchup. As you probably already know, The Rams are now set to make their way to the 2019 Super Bowl and play against the New England Patriots on February 3 in Atlanta. Since the Rams’ win earlier in the week, YG has been on social media very publicly demanding that the Cash Money Records CEO pay him his money. Many fans jokingly assumed that since Birdman took almost 10 years to pay his own signee Lil Wayne, he would probably take his sweet time paying YG what he’s owed. He owes me $ https://t.co/PSsosXWd69 — STAY DANGEROUS (@YG) January 21, 2019 But luckily for YG (and for Birdmans’s reputation) that’s not the case this time. He paid the rapper his 20,000 less than a week later. Continue reading

Pure Comedy: Drake Trolls All The People Who Think He’s A Curse To Every Sports Team He Reps

Source: Tom Szczerbowski / Getty Drake Puts A Message Out There To All The “Sports Curse” Believers Drake has long been known to be a huge fan of sports and is constantly repping The Toronto Raptors, but sometimes, he slaps on a jersey for a team he’s never really payed attention to before–publicly, at least. Take Alabama for example. Drizzy was seen wearing an Alabama football sweatshirt the day before the college football national championship game, where the team ended up losing.  This resulted in the everyone mocking the rapper, with some going so far as to accuse Drake placing a curse on the football team and every other sports team he reps. After he took his toll on the beloved Crimson Tide, Drake became popular among South Carolina football fans who were ecstatic about the Clemson Tigers and their win. But as for the rest of the world, they were cracking jokes at how the Canadian has become a jinx for the popular teams he loudly supports. This weekend, though, Drake came back at the trolls in the most Drake way possible. Aubrey posted a picture to his Instagram stories that read, “To everyone that believes in the Drake curse, good luck tomorrow.”  In the photo we see him in a black sweater that sports the logos of the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Rams. The 2019 NFL Playoffs take place this week and from the looks of Drake’s choice of attire, nobody’s safe. The Championship Game between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams is kicking off on Sunday afternoon, but uhhh…maybe neither team will win? Or is this Drake’s way of expertly breaking a curse?

Leonard Myers Dies; Former New England Patriot Was 38

Sad news out of the sports world today, as former NFL cornerback Leonard Myers has passed away at the age of 38. Reports of Myers’ death were confirmed by TMZ just moments ago. Myers played his rookie season with the New England Patriots in 2001, the year that a young Tom Brady led the team to a Super Bowl victory over the St. Louis Rams. Myers went on to play for the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Detroit Lions, but he would never again experience the sort of on-field success he enjoyed in that first year in New England. Myers experienced a string of bad luck after leaving football in 2005, following a brief sojourn in the CFL. That same year, he made headlines for selling his Super Bowl ring on eBay for $32,600. Myers had reportedly been battling cancer for several years at the time of his death. Before being drafter by the Patriots, Myers made a name for himself at the Univesrity of Miami as the team’s standout defensive back. A three-year starter for the Canes, Myers aided in the program’s historic rebound. The team went 5-6 his freshman year and 11-1 his senior year. Sadly, Myers would not experience the same level of success in the pros. In interviews, he often expressed his frustration with the Patriots coaching staff, who decided at the last minute to deactivate him prior to Super Bowl XXXVI. Myers says he was told he would start in the game, and it wasn’t until pregame warm-ups that Bill Belichick and company decided to remove him from the roster in favor of activating another offensive lineman. Those who knew Myers best say his disappointment at not realizing his boyhood dream of being able to take the field at the Super Bowl lingered for the rest of his days.  Most recently, Myers worked as he wide receivers coach at New Mexico Highlands University in 2015. Today, both Patriots and Hurricanes football fans are mourning Myers on social media. Though he may not have distinguished himself in the highly competitive world of the NFL, fans and teammates say his spirit and cn-do attitude made him a player they’ll never forget. Redskins Baller Junior Gallette Out For NFL Season After TWO Torn Achilles Tendons

Junior Galette Out For 2016 Season After Injury Junior Gallette isn’t having the best 2016. First, he got popped for beating up a stripper while he was playing ball for the Saints back in January. Next, he got released from the New Orleans Saints…we’re assuming at least partially on account of the whole “slapping up a stripper” thing. Now, having been traded to the Redskins, he has torn his right Achilles tendon and is out for the entire season — the second time this has happened to him in just as many years, since he also missed last season with the Saints due to the exact same injury on his other leg. Via ESPN : It looks as though Junior Galette’s long-awaited debut with the Washington Redskins will again be put on hold. Galette has torn his right Achilles tendon and is out for the season, NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported per a source familiar with injury. Galette suffered the injury while working out, Getlin added. Galette missed the 2015 season with the same injury to the opposite leg, suffered during practice in August 2015. He’s still yet to play a meaningful down with the Redskins after signing a one-year deal in 2015, following a falling out with the New Orleans Saints that resulted in his release. Despite the injury, Galette re-upped with the Redskins in March on another one-year deal that could be worth up to $4.1 million. Prior to his off-field issues and subsequent release, Galette was among the league’s best young pass rushers. Lined up on the opposite end of the line from fellow rusher Cameron Jordan, the two wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks, with Galette recording 22 sacks combined between 2013 and 2014. New Orleans paid him as such, inking him to a four-year, $41.3 million extension before the problems outside of work and in the locker room made the Saints do a 180 and dump him. And even after that, the Redskins adding Galette seemed to be a cheap pickup with potential for great reward. A year and a half later, it looks like Washington won’t see any return on the deal. Wow. Life comes at you fast… AP/Redskins

Wait, What?!? Darren Sharper’s Rapey Codefendant Says Reggie Bush Put Molly In Women’s Drinks Too

Reggie Bush Implicated In Drugging Women By Darren Sharper’s Codefendant Via Yahoo! The rape trial of former New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper has taken a strange turn. A former sheriff’s deputy in Louisiana, who has been charged (along with Sharper) with helping to drug women in order to rape them, told investigators he witnessed former Saints and current Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush drop the party drug ecstasy into women’s drinks at a Las Vegas club a few years ago, according to a published report. According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, Brandon Licciardi, the codefendent in the Sharper case, told authorities about seeing Bush doing this when Licciardi was interviewed last year by the Orleans Parish (La.) District Attorney. At the time, Licciardi was being questioned about two incidents in which Sharper allegedly was involved in rapes. According to the federal indictment, Licciardi is named as a conspirator to Sharper in assisting with the rape. Asked if he had seen other women being drugged, Licciardi spilled on Bush’s involvement. Peep THIS: “OK, um, I was in Vegas about three years ago and um, Reggie Bush put Molly in Champagne. He was handing out ‘Molly’ on the dance floor to girls. Handing it out. Like giving it to them,” Licciardi said. “And how do you know that?” asked James O’Hern, an investigator for the DA’s Office. “[Because] I saw it with my own eyes,” Licciardi responded. Says Reggie’s ubiquitous lawyer: Bush has not been charged with anything by authorities, and he strongly denied any involvement through his Bush’s California-based attorney, Shawn Holley, to the Detroit Free Press. “This is outrageous,” Holley said. “I can say to you on the record that Reggie adamantly, vehemently and unequivocally denies all of the statements in that article. We are demanding a retraction from The Advocate and Reggie is considering taking legal action.” Holley questioned the credibility of the defendent, Licciardi, to the Free Press. “There is no investigation, there’s never been any complaint made by any person of this happening,” Holley said. “It appears to be something that’s being stated by someone who is a criminal defendant in a serious case and looking for anything he can say to deflect from his own troubles. But there is not a shred of truth to any of this.” Asked again later in court about Bush’s involvement, Licciardi started to backpedal a bit. “Reggie, yeah. No, I didn’t see him put it in the drink. He told me. And he said he was handing it to people, in Vegas,” Licciardi said, adding, “He asked me if I wanted some. And I was like, ‘I don’t do that stuff.’ ” Sounds like this thing is about to get SUPER ugly. Image via WENN

Devon Walker: New Orleans Saints Sign Paralyzed Former College Football Star

Devon Walker believed he was headed to a post-graduation celebration dinner with his family on on Saturday night. Instead, the former Tulane football stand-out received the surprise of a lifetime. Instead of his favorite restaurant, Walker’s family took him to the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp where Saints coach Sean Payton offered him a contract with the team. Of course, hundreds of former college stars will sign with NFL teams in the coming months. What makes Walker’s situation unique is that he was paralyzed from the neck down in a devastating injury he suffered during a 2012 game. “When Devon got hurt, his football career was just starting to take off after three years of hard work,” said Payton in a press conference, with Walker by his side. “Despite the devastating injury he suffered, Devon refuses to let that define him. He is an outstanding young man who is an inspiration not only to his coaches and teammates at Tulane, but to all of us.” “For me this is one of my dreams come true,” Walker told the press. “I’ve been a Saint since before I was walking. Just to be a part of the team and be around the players is more than I could have hoped for.” The 23-year-old Walker participated in Tulane’s graduation ceremony just hours before the Saints offered him a contract. He has been frequently commended for his courage following the tragic end of his playing career and he has received outpourings of affection from the New Orleans community in the past.  Along with Michael Sam who was drafted by the St. Louis Rams  as the first openly gay man selected by an NFL team, Walker is part of an historic offseason of firsts for the NFL. 18 Revolting, Homophobic Tweets About Michael Sam Michael Sam father has failed.
