Redskins Baller Junior Gallette Out For NFL Season After TWO Torn Achilles Tendons

Junior Galette Out For 2016 Season After Injury Junior Gallette isn’t having the best 2016. First, he got popped for beating up a stripper while he was playing ball for the Saints back in January. Next, he got released from the New Orleans Saints…we’re assuming at least partially on account of the whole “slapping up a stripper” thing. Now, having been traded to the Redskins, he has torn his right Achilles tendon and is out for the entire season — the second time this has happened to him in just as many years, since he also missed last season with the Saints due to the exact same injury on his other leg. Via ESPN : It looks as though Junior Galette’s long-awaited debut with the Washington Redskins will again be put on hold. Galette has torn his right Achilles tendon and is out for the season, NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported per a source familiar with injury. Galette suffered the injury while working out, Getlin added. Galette missed the 2015 season with the same injury to the opposite leg, suffered during practice in August 2015. He’s still yet to play a meaningful down with the Redskins after signing a one-year deal in 2015, following a falling out with the New Orleans Saints that resulted in his release. Despite the injury, Galette re-upped with the Redskins in March on another one-year deal that could be worth up to $4.1 million. Prior to his off-field issues and subsequent release, Galette was among the league’s best young pass rushers. Lined up on the opposite end of the line from fellow rusher Cameron Jordan, the two wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks, with Galette recording 22 sacks combined between 2013 and 2014. New Orleans paid him as such, inking him to a four-year, $41.3 million extension before the problems outside of work and in the locker room made the Saints do a 180 and dump him. And even after that, the Redskins adding Galette seemed to be a cheap pickup with potential for great reward. A year and a half later, it looks like Washington won’t see any return on the deal. Wow. Kylie Jenner continues to deny talk that she’s romantically involved with Jaden Smith. The 16-year old (yes, Kylie Jenner is 16 !!!) was supposedly caught making out with the son of Will and Jaden at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding reception on Saturday night. E! News – typically a very reliable source for information regarding this family – ran a story that claimed Kylie and Jaden totally played a game of tonsil hockey while celebrating inside Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy. But Jenner took to Twitter today and shot down this rumor. “Jadens a close friend of mine,” she wrote. “Wasn’t caught making out with anyone at my sisters wedding lol.” Kylie and Jaden have been a rumored item for many months now. If they want to put dating rumors to rest, perhaps they should stop posing half-naked in bed together . Just a suggestion. We can’t, of course, say for certain whether or not Kylie and Jaden are getting it on. But we can confirm that Smith went dressed as the self-proclaimed White Batman for the Kimye wedding. Channing Tatum Talks Drunken, Wild Night With Shia LaBeouf: I Kicked in a Window!

Channing Tatum says he’s a high-functioning alcoholic , but if he makes a habit of engaging in the sort of antics he described to GQ recently, it may be time to drop the “high-functioning” part of the description. While filming the 2006 movie  A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints , Channing hung out with Shia LaBeouf and the two young actors tested each other’s mettle with a night of escalating dares and serious boozing:  “We were drinking,” Channing’s tale begins (we’re guessing a lot of his stories start that way). “I think our initial thing was, ‘Alright let’s go out and get in a fight!’ This was just young dumb, idiot actors thinking that’s what’s going to bond us.” We’re with you on the “dumb” part Channing. But hold on. While going out with the intention of starting fight is certainly pretty stupid, things get exponentially dumber from there: “I definitely kicked in a window that night,” says Tatum. “We were just running and throwing trash bags down the street and being stupid. We were trying to be like eighties hoodlums.” Like we said, pretty stupid. But the award for Dumbest Vandalism Attempt  of the Night definitely goes to LaBeouf: “I think Shia even punched a cop car,” says Channing. “We weren’t sure if there was a cop in the car but he just punched the window of a cop car.” Smart stuff. And what’s the state of Channing and Shia’s friendship these days? “I’ve never seen him since then,” Tatum says of The Beef. “The kid’s an incredible actor…I just wish that he would just act. New Orleans Pelicans: A Winning Name?

It’s official: The New Orleans Hornets are now the New Orleans Pelicans. No, really! The team announced today that it will change monikers for the 2013-2014 season, unveiling the following colors and logo to go along with it. The name has an environmental connection for the team and region, as the brown pelican was taken off the endangered species list in 2009. It is Louisiana’s state bird. “We’re raising an entire generation to be very mindful to what happened to our coastal restoration,” said Rita Benson LeBlanc, the vice chairman of the board for the Hornets and the Saints. “Give it time, and I think everyone will be inspired (by the name change). Gregg Williams Locker Room Rant: Kill the Head!

It’s safe to say Gregg Williams will never coach in the NFL ever again. Already suspended indefinitely by Commissioner Roger Goodell – due to his role in a New Orleans Saints bounty program , in which players under his control pooled money and offered it was a reward for debilitating hits – Williams is in the spotlight again this week because audio of a speech he delivered prior to a 2012 playoff game against the 49ers has been leaked. And it isn’t pretty. Gregg Williams Locker Room Speech: Hit the Head! As you can hear in the video above, Williams encourages his players to “kill the head” and “the body will die.” Referring to San Francisco running back Frank Gore, Williams tells his charges: “We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore’s head. We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways.” At other points, he screams at the Saints to take out receiver Michael Crabtree’s ACL and to focus on receiver Kyle Williams’ head because he has a history of concussions. The speech was recorded and released by documentary filmmaker Sean Pamphilon, who was filming in the locker room for a special he plans to produce on Saints special-teams player Steve Gleason, who is battling ALS.
