The good news: Rob Lowe is turning into the scheming capitalist from Tommy Boy that you always wanted him to be. The bad news: He is taking over the planet, and you’re not invited. The Brothers and Sisters actor is reportedly teaming up with very powerful people for a lucrative multimedia deal, and he’s also releasing a memoir and trying out a gig as a reality TV producer. If he’s the new Oprah, I hope he considers giving iPods and $10,000 checks to less fortunate Brat Packers. Eye-popping details follow.

Which Shows Should NBC Put the Old Spice Guy In?

Old Spice’s “man your man could smell like” apparently impressed some suits with his 30-second Super Bowl ad. NBC just declared Isaiah Mustafa, star of the gone-viral cologne commercial , “a talent worth developing” who will now audition for parts on the network’s various series as part of a talent holding deal. NBC Reveals New Fall Schedule, Makes Implicit Apology for The Jay Leno Show

THR has details on NBC’ s new fall schedule, and from the looks of things, it seems like Mary Poppins is helping NBC entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin program the network: There’s a place for everything and everything in its place. “This new schedule brings NBC back to basics with its commitment to quality scripted programming, ” said Gaspin, totally not all thinking about the Leno Debacle. Rather than be in the slow, trainwreck business, NBC is putting itself in the packaged, theme-night business, and they’ve moved around a couple of your favorite shows in the process.
