Sony Is Playing Nice, PlayStation Will Now Supports Cross-Play For Any Game That Uses It, Report

Source: CHARLY TRIBALLEAU / Getty Historically, Sony wasn’t initially on board with the idea of cross-play much to the dismay of gamers. When Microsoft and Nintendo came together to allow Fornite players to come together, everyone started looking at PlayStation wondering when they will join in. It seems like that time is now. PlayStation was reluctantly forced into cross-play after gamers made a big stink about not initially being allowed to play with Switch and Xbox One owners. Since then the idea of cross-play was, for the most part, in beta mode with its most significant test being during Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s recent beta. It would seem the folks at PlayStation were pleased with the results and have officially decided to play nice with Switch and Xbox One owners. Sony hasn’t confirmed the news themselves, but in a post from Wired , they elude that Modern Warfare is Sony’s first official foray into the world of cross-play. When it officially launches later this month, the re-imagined version of the iconic first-person shooter will take the feature out its beta mode. So fans, of games like Rocket League and as mentioned above Fortnite who loathed the idea of having to ditch their PS4 console’s to play with friends will no longer have to. Tha’s not the only big news revolving around PlayStation. Sony also announced a significate price cut to it’s PlayStation Now subscription service. The monthly service dropped from $20 to $10 with the annual falling from $100 to $60. The lineup was also bolstered with the addition fo PlayStation exclusives God of War ,  Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End ,  Infamous: Second Son , plus Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V . It would seem like Sony is looking to close out the year strong with the PlayStation 4 and at the same time grown its PlayStation Now service which has 700,000 subscribers at this moment. Real One: UVA Basketball Coach Turns Down Raise Following Championship Win, Asks For Money To Go To His Staff Instead

Source: The Washington Post / Getty University Of Virginia Basketball Coach Declines Raise Following NCAA Win Tony Bennett, the University of Virginia men’s basketball coach, led the Cavaliers to their first appearance in the Final Four in 35 years and on to win their first NCAA Championship title in program history this year. But when he was offered a raise for such an amazing accomplishment, Bennett rejected it. “President Ryan and [Athletic Director] Carla were very gracious in what they offered to me as a potential contract, but I have a very good contract,” said Bennett, in an article published on UVA’s website. “I have more than enough, and if there are ways that this can help out the athletic department, the other programs and coaches, by not tying up so much [in men’s basketball], that’s my desire…I have more than I need. I’m blessed beyond what I deserve.” Not only that, the coach also donated $500,000 toward a career-training initiative for current and former UVA men’s basketball players. Bennett went on to say that he consulted with his wife, Laurel, before making the decision to turn the money down. “She’s always said, ‘Is there something we can do that can make a difference?’ That’s been on her heart and mind, and we’ve talked about it a lot,” he revealed. According to an estimate from USA Today, Bennett made approximately $4.15 million last season. This includes his base salary of $525,000, $1.175 million in performance incentives for the team’s 2018-2019 season, $2.5 million in annual “supplemental compensation,” which typically includes compensation for a university’s use of a coach’s likeness or image, and a longevity bonus of $1 million for staying with the team. Though it’s commendable that Bennet turned down a raise, these aforementioned numbers already put him among some of the highest-paid college coaches in the country. According to CNBC, the top 10 highest-paid NCAA basketball coaches all make over $3 million while the highest-paid coach, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, makes around $9 million per year. “Laurel and I are in a great spot, and in the past I’ve had increases in my contract,” said Bennett. “We just feel a great peace about where we’re at, all that’s taken place, and how we feel about this athletic department and this community and this school. I love being at UVA.” View this post on Instagram Scenes as we get closer to #NationalChampionship tipoff! #GoHoos #wahoowa A post shared by Virginia Men's Basketball (@uvamenshoops) on Apr 8, 2019 at 6:01pm PDT

National F**k Y’all League: Antonio Brown Allowed To Play Sunday Amid Britney Howard’s Rape Allegation

Source: Christian Petersen / Getty Antonio Brown Will Play Sunday Amid Rape Allegations Antonio Brown ‘s shenanigans in NFL locker rooms and social media are comical now in comparison to the trouble that he now finds himself in. Just a few days ago, Britney Howard came forward to publicly accuse Antonio Brown of rape and other sexual assaults via a federal civil lawsuit. After all the talk that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has done about the league’s responsibility to protect women from their abusive players in the wake of the Ray Rice domestic violence incident, would Antonio Brown be allowed to suit up on Sunday? Yes. Yes he will. According to ESPN, the NFL will not place Brown on the Commissioner’s exempt list and thus will be lining up to catch passes from Tom Brady against the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon. In case you hadn’t read them, here are the emails that Antonio is accused of sending outside of the forcible rape that Britney claims he enacted against her. These are the emails Antonio Brown allegedly sent to his accuser in the rape court. pic.twitter.com/hGHEbiY8F6 — Nick Underhill (@nick_underhill) September 11, 2019 Yet and still, Brown will be suited and booted for Belichick and his boys. On Wednesday, Belichick wouldn’t commit to Brown playing, saying the team was taking it “day to day.” Since then, Brown has participated in two practices — with a third to come later Friday — and has impressed his new teammates. “AB is AB. We all know what he brings to the table. Excited to have him here,” safety Duron Harmon said, adding: “He’s doing everything the right way.” Of course, “the right way”…

NBA Bans “Ninja-Style” Headbands Ahead Of Upcoming Season

Source: Hannah Foslien / Getty The NBA has gone through several stylistic changes over the decades, with athletes introducing their own flair to the standard uniforms at various intervals. However, those expecting the so-called “Ninja-style” headband accessory to gain traction will be disappointed to know that the league is banning the look ahead of the season. ESPN reports : Several players — including the Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler, the New Orleans Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday, the LA Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns and the Brooklyn Nets’ Jarrett Allen — regularly wore the headgear a season ago. The NBA never had a formal process to approve the headgear, and allowed players to wear it during the 2018-19 season because, spokesman Mike Bass told ESPN, “We didn’t want to cause a disruption by intervening midseason.” The NBA notified teams in May that the headbands wouldn’t be a part of this season’s approved uniforms. The NBA’s competition committee discussed the headwear as part of its meetings in Chicago on Monday. A source told ESPN that some members expressed concerns on safety, including the looseness of the headwear. Yeah, we don’t want any player to get injured by an errant headband on the court (insert sarcasm). — Photo: Getty

SCARY: Cincinnati Football Player Suffers Seizure In The Middle Of A Play [Video]

Source: JMU Athletics Communications / JMU Athletics Communications Cincinnati Football Player Has Seizure In The Middle Of A Play College football players go out each and every weekend and put it all on the line for the promise of making it into the professional league one day–and the percentage that actually make it to the league is a lot smaller than one might think. Besides proving to be the cream of the crop as far as gameplay goes, other obstacles stand in their way that are completely out of the players’ control. For some, its tuition that holds them back because college surely isn’t cheap. For a lot of these players, it’s injuries , which happen every single week. This weekend, one player had a medical emergency that isn’t seen on the field too often. Cincinnati College’s Kyriq McDonald suffered a seizure mid-play during their blowout at the hands of Ohio State. After the game, his mother confirmed that McDonald has a history of seizures. Hopefully, he can play again, but it’s definitely not worth risking your daily abilities to play football because as we all know, the wrong hit at the wrong time could end up being detrimental. Scary moment for Cincinnati's Kyriq McDonald. He fell midplay despite not being touched and remained on the field. He was driven off the field. ESPN spoke with his mom who said he has a history of seizures. pic.twitter.com/wvMSgv5Dcr — Jordan Heck (@JordanHeckFF) September 7, 2019
