#StyleCrush: Allen Onyia Makes Street-Chic Cool As True Religion’s New Artistic Director

Source: Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Every few years, the climate of the fashion industry changes drastically. At one point, it was cool to rock baggy clothes and mismatched prints, until it became chic to wear skinny jeans and button ups. One thing that rarely shifts in fashion is the desire to incorporate a little street style, no matter what look you’re going for. Big brands sometimes use to stray away from adding “street fashion” into their collections, but they always come back to the culture for a little inspo. In an effort to reassert itself into the genre of streetwear, True Religion hired UpscaleHype cofounder Allen Onyia as their new artistic director. Onyia is a recognized tastemaker in streetwear fashion circles and was named “Menswear’s Most Important Instagram Account” by GQ in 2018. In a press release about Allen’s new, excited gig, True Religion said in a statement: “In his new role, Onyia will innovate modern and elevated streetwear for True Religion, which has iconic roots in the aesthetic. He plans to apply the same ethos to design as he does to his platforms – “look good, feel good and be a part of something”. View this post on Instagram What’s the word? Tell me what you heard. #UpscaleLife A post shared by Allen Onyia (@allenonyia) on Mar 31, 2019 at 9:03am PDT Onyia said of upcoming position: “I have always admired True Religion as an iconic brand with deep roots in the streetwear category. I am thrilled to join the team and bring my vision to reestablish a brand people can associate with, in this new age of streetwear.” True Religion CEO Chelsea Grayson added: “We have been driving towards this watershed moment since I joined the Company. I am excited to work with Allen to return True Religion to its rightful place among streetwear leaders. The whole point of this [hire] is it really signals a sea change for the company and its progression into the future. This is a real line in the sand and I was intent on that when I joined the company.” View this post on Instagram Helluva contrast. #UpscaleLife A post shared by Allen Onyia (@allenonyia) on Mar 12, 2019 at 6:26pm PDT “Allen lives, eats and breathes streetwear and the streetwear aesthetic on all ends of the spectrum. So he knows how to dress it up, dress it down, make it more elevated or less elevated, and I really respect that fluidity in his style.” Adding Allen to the crew is just one of many changes the brand has planned. Grayson says there will be less denim and more crewneck T-shirts, crewneck long-sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, outerwear and elevated fabrications. But Allen isn’t new to this fashion ish. Back in 2008, he co founded the site UpscaleHype with his brother Kyle Onyia, which focused on coverage of high-end men’s wear and celebrity fashion. He also worked with True Religion once before as as a brand ambassador when the brand teamed up with Travis Scott back in 2014. Grayson says Onyia’s mark touch on the brand will be felt as soon as their Spring collection drops — but you’ll see more of his works during the holiday assortments. Congrats, young King.

Monica Brown Stay Down: “Friends & Family Hustle” Producers Are Pissed Singer Won’t Say Isht About Divorce Drama On Show

Source: Judy Eddy / WENN Monica Not Sharing Any Marital Messiness With Vh1 Producers If you’re expecting Monica to share any messiness about her marriage coming to an end on “T.I. & Tiny’s Friends & Family Hustle” you may be in for some disappointment. Sources close to production on “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle” tell TMZ … Monica won’t even utter Shannon Brown’s name on the show and refuses to talk about her marriage ending in front of the cameras. TMZ says their sources say her decision to keep her divorce details low has frustrated the folks in production who have been begging her to open up about her marriage in hopes of help with crafting an interesting storyline for her. We previously posted the trailer for the show, which makes it seem like Monica is open to discussion (largely because of the clip in the studio where Monica mentions never imagining being a 38-year-old single mother) but producers say that’s about all she was open to say. We’re not in the least bit surprised. Mo has always lived by a certain code and she’s not about to switch up now for reality tv. Does her decision disappoint you or do you think she’s doing the right thing? Oh and while we’re talking Monica … The singer went heavy with social media promotions Sunday and Monday, sharing photos from the video shoot of her new single “Commitment”. Little People, Big World Season 14 Preview: A Family Divided?

Changes are on the way for the Roloffs. Long-time followers of this beloved family are well aware of this, of course, simply based on recent social media posts and photos from Matt, Amy and company. But these changes are especially prominent in the trailer for Little People, Big World Season 14. Just released by TLC, the preview is notable for what it does depict and who it does not depict. On the latter front, Audrey and Jeremy are no longer full-time cast members. They may be seen in the background here and there during family gatherings, but the couple has walked away from the series. They stunned fans with this announcement last summer. As a result, Matt, Amy, Tori, Zach and even their adorable Jackson are the ones front and center for the show's new logo, which we wrote about HERE . In a press release sent out this week by the cable network, we learn that Season 14 will consist of 10 episodes and that tension between Matt and Amy will be at the center of these new installments. Here is a quote from this release: “At the heart of the season lies the fate of Roloff Farms, as Matt and Amy consider if it’s possible to continue running the property together, while their increasingly separate lives and relationships are driving them further apart.” We've written about this before. Matt has purchased a part-time home in Arizona with girlfriend Caryn Chandler, while both he and Amy have hinted that they time running the family farm could be coming to an end. The press release goes on to note that this will be “a season of self-discovery for everyone,” including Matt and Caryn, pondering “whether their future is in Oregon with the farm, or in Arizona, where they’re just purchased a home.” The trailer is definitely intriguing. It gives us a close look at Amy and her romance with Chris Marek, while also teasing a a health scare for Zach and far happier news for him and Tori welcome a new puppy. Might this couple also be facing financial problems, however?“ “I’m way in over my head,” Zach laments at one point. “This year, out of any of the other years, everything has changed for me,” Amy recently told People Magazine. “Chris makes me see life in a whole different way.” The new season of Little People, Big World premieres on April 2 on TLC at 9/8c. Rockstar Games Announces ‘Red Dead Online’, To Launch As A Beta In Nov.

Source: Rockstar Games / Red Dead Redemption 2 We are just about a month and a few days from the global launch of Rockstar Games epic western Red Redemption 2 . Today the game studio announced the forthcoming game will have its own online component as well. Just like Grand Theft Auto V , Red Dead Redemption 2’s experience will be expanded with a massive online multiplayer experience with Red Dead Online . The online mode will be an “evolution” of the previous Red Dead Redemptio n game’s multiplayer mode. Utilizing Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay as a foundation, players will be able to traverse the games massive open world either alone or with friends if you so choose as well as competitive and cooperative gameplay experiences. Players can also look forward to constant updates and features that will keep the online experience fresh for all players. Rockstar also revealed that Red Dead Online will not launch alongside Red Dead Redemption 2’s single player game but will arrive separately in November in beta mode and for a good reason. The studio seemingly learned from the rocky launch of GTA V’s multiplayer mode Grand Theft Auto Online that was riddled with problems from the jump. They also want to allow players to be wholly acclimated with the game’s controls before Red Dead Online arrives. When asked by IGN about Red Dead Online’s absence on launch day Imran Sarwar, Director of Design at Rockstar North stated: “Also, as we have learned from experience when launching Online games at this scale, there are bound to be a few issues, and we want to ensure that we have time to gradually roll out the game and make the experience as smooth as we possibly can for everyone. We believe this way of rolling out will give people the best overall experiences with both single player and multiplayer.” We can’t wait and if Red Dead Online is anything like GTA Online you can expect it to give the game a very long life. Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 October 26, 2018, the online mode will be free to anyone with a copy of the game on any system. — Photo: Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2
