Deion Sanders Revisits Suicide Attempt In Autobiography Ahead of ESPN ’30 For 30′

Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Deion ‘PrimeTime’ Sanders accomplished a lot of the goals all professional athletes strive for. But at one point in his life, the two-sport star was in a very dark place and tried to end it all. A new ESPN 30 For 30 documentary will touch on Sanders’ almost succumbing to the pressures of fame. Sanders an NFL Hall-of-Famer and two time Superbowl champion on the outside was a charismatic figure on an off the field. He was living the life and the “Must Be The Money” rapper had it all but reveals in his autobiography  Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life , it all of those things brought him to the brink of taking his own life. The book was first released in the late ’90s but a new ESPN 30 For 30 documentary about Sanders airing January 31st,2019  will revisit the moment as reported by The Undefeated . The trouble began for the high-stepping cornerback during his first marriage to then-wife Carolyn Chambers back in 1997 who is the mother of his two children Deion Jr and Deiondra. Their union was hit a snag and propelling him to spiral downward with him attempting suicide. “I was going through the trials and tribulations of life. I was pretty much running on fumes. I was empty, no peace, no joy. Losing hope with the progression of everything.” Sanders tried to kill himself by driving his car off a cliff 30- to 40-feet down. He survived and after the life-changing experience gave his life to God. “I finally just got on my knees and gave it all to the Lord. Slowly, but surely, I had to deal with my faith, deal with my strength. I had to get a lot of Word in so that I could fight off the enemy. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my faith. People argue about what faith is, and who Jesus is, but it works for me. I’m not going to sit here and argue about who is what, and what is what, I’m just going to say it works for me.” We are looking forward to seeing the doc which will give us a closer look on Deion Sanders’ life while he a star in the NFL, and his attempt back in 1992 at playing in a pro-football game and MLB National League Championship game in the same day. — Photo: Icon Sportswire / Getty

BOSSIP Exclusive: Twin DJ Duo Two Fresh Talks Merging Electronic Music & Hip Hop, And Working With Family

Twin Producer Team Two Fresh Talks Taking On The Industry You may not have heard of Two Fresh quite yet, but the twin brother DJ duo is already highly respected in the production world and doing collabs with up-and-coming rappers on the trap/hip-hop scene. With a sound that fuses the hip hop and electronic dance worlds and connections to Mad Decent, the twins are set to skyrocket in the next year — they just dropped an EP featuring Vic Mensa, Joey Purp and more last October and the buzz is building more and more. Take a listen to their latest track off their “Torch” EP, ‘Still Got It’ feat. Vic Mensa & Joey Purp: BOSSIP caught up with Two Fresh during Coachella Weekend to get the details on their performance at the Heineken House, find out more about the evolution of their sound from wild and crazy dance beats to hip-hop tracks, and what it’s like to work with a family member 24/7. So, for those unfamiliar, tell the people who you are and what your sound is: Kendo: We’re Two Fresh. We’re from Nashville, but we live in LA right now, and majority of our music is Hip-op/Rap/Trap/R&B — that’s the core and the vibe. Coachella is really a dream stage for a lot of artists, and you’re already here at such a young age. What do you feel like got you to this point? Shweez: I feel like it was the progression of our music. In the past two years, we’ve gained notoriety being producers for MC’s and vocalists. Kendo: Right, so we’re shining. We we started out making music, it was all like electronic music — more like the Flying Lotus, J. Dilla, weird beats stuff. After traveling, producing, and just being artists, and even from our move to LA, we finally found our lane and our sound. So that’s why I say this is our first time at Coachella as “Two Fresh.” This is it. Nice! Now coming from Nashville, it’s not exactly known as a hub for the type of music that you make. How did you get into DJing and producing your unique style of music? Shweez: It came with progression. Our older brothers listened to like Three Six [Mafia] and stuff like that, so that’s been an influence. Now that we produce more rap stuff, it shows. Kendo: Yeah, now that we’ve moved a little away from EDM and more toward rap, the influence of hearing stuff like that early, and how to make a rap beat so that someone can actually rap on it really shows. Shweez: Yeah, kind of holding back in some aspects. Three years ago, we’d make a beat and it it would be wild – just be weird, no rules, whatever. Now we’re able to listen to it with a mature ear and think “okay, this is where we can have a bridge,” and think of it as a song, so we can work with more artists and work together rather than just taking over. Now, even though electronic dance was born from us, you really don’t see a lot of Black faces dominating that space — it isn’t really considered “ours.” Being that you don’t really look like all the popular DJ/producers in that world, how do you navigate that space? Kendo: I feel like that’s why we are Two Fresh. We’re still going to play some EDM stuff, but we’ll also be playing some hip hop, some rap, because it’s all in the same vein. I mean, trap comes from hip hop. So, taking that ride of going to our live show, taking that wave of playing the EDM stuff and playing rap and it all works together is why Two Fresh is who Two Fresh is. Is it easy for you all working with your twin brother and being around each other 24/7? Kendo: Yeah, that’s my best friend. Schweez: It’s cool, because we can be brutally honest. There’s no holding back. Even if we’re not right, we can tell each other “oh, that’s not tight,” or “yeah, that’s ill.” I feel like with people who you just meet for the first time, you’ll compromise and you’ll keep your mouth shut because you don’t know them as well. But, we’re brothers, so we can keep it real. Be sure to check out their Torch EP HERE . We can’t wait to hear more from these brothers… Mad Decent

Chris Soules: Mega-Diva on Dancing With the Stars!?

Chris Soules was kicked off Dancing With the Stars this week , but his fellow dancers are not exactly bidding him a fond farewell. According to an insider, The Bachelor star and fiance of Whitney Bischoff turned into a mega-diva during the progression of DWTS: He “was humble and so sweet at the beginning of DWTS , but by the time he had been voted off, the sentiment from the cast and crew had changed.” “It started with Chris asking the wardrobe department to make adjustments to his wardrobe,” adds the source. “It seemed innocent enough.” “But by the last week, Chris was openly rolling his eyes at his costumes.” He was even caught on camera acting like an angry diva . So much, that at one point, Chris Soules made Witney Carson cry during rehearsal. Gradually, he’s “become obsessed with living in Hollywood, and loves the fame he got from being on The Bachelor and on Dancing with the Stars .” “Being voted off DWTS will be very hard for Chris because he truly thought the Bachelor fans would get him through to the finals,” the source added. “His ego is out of control, and he now has a publicist, and manager!” the source insists. “He would love to become known as a host for big events.” While Chris is busy loving Chris, we wonder what this means for Whitney. Theu are rumored to be taking a “break” since Whitney returned to Chicago .  And since Chris Soules might be staying in Los Angeles to pursue the limelight, their relationship could be headed for splitsville sooner rather than later. Some New Pics of Kate Upton in Vouge of the Day

This is for the die hard Kate Upton fans who were unsatisfied with the LAST TIME I POSTED THESE PICS ….cuz they were scans from the magazine and there were captions destroying her photoshopped integrity as a model….not that she really has any integrity as a model as far as I’m concerned, but that’s because I like my models to look like models, fit, thin, and awesome, and not thick and piggish and built like she’s gonna be 300 pounds just as soon as she starts eating again when this hype, that is totally undeserving starts to fizzle out….you know cuz people will realize that her stomach and her hips and her ass all fucking suck..and even her tits and the fat under her neck are sloppy at best….but I wouldn’t want to offend you and mock your dream girl…you no taste motherfucker….instead I’d like to give you pics of her made to look her fucking best…to continue the lie that is Kate Upton….

Some Boardwalk Empire Nudity of the Day

Gretchen Mol and Anne Bergstedt Jordanova were naked in Boardwalk Empire, which aired last Sunday, which means I am 3 days late on the shit, which I blame on being in Central America, where the Coca Cola is half the price of the bottled water owned by Coca Cola, where there are no TVs or Internets in my cabana in the jungle, where the prostitutes are large in their ass and flat in their tits, but some have dicks….and where the handjobs have been weak and lacked conviction….so keeping up on the shit, while trying to stay alive, for a show that you’ve probably seen already, even if it is the best parts of said show….is not exactly a priority….but you know what, I’ll do it for you anyway….because I believe in the progression of Television…from shitty sitcoms to hardcore porn…it is all about evolution…. Foster The People ‘Experimenting’ With Torches Follow-Up

Band broke through to the big time in 2011 with ‘Pumped Up Kicks.’ By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias Foster the People’s Mark Foster and Cubbie Fink Photo: MTV News Foster the People were one of 2011’s biggest breakouts, first scoring a massive crossover hit with “Pumped Up Kicks,” then nabbing a pair of Grammy nominations and finally, landing current single “Don’t Stop (Color on the Walls)” in a high-profile ad campaign (and accompanying it with a really excellent video, starring Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe). So, as the year comes to a close, we asked the guys in Foster to try and sum up the past 12 months, which saw them rocket from little-known L.A. rock outfit to internationally famous buzz band. And, as you can probably expect, for a band that’s basically lived on the road in 2011, most of their milestones have to do with the size of the stages they’ve played on … and the audiences they’ve played for. “It’s funny, in January we started a residency at the Echo, which is this club in L.A., and we played every week for about a month, and that kind of kicked it off. The first week, it was half full … it only holds 300 people, I think there was like 125 people there,” frontman Mark Foster laughed. “And then cut to four months later, doing Coachella in front of 15,000 people, and then cut to three months after that, playing Lollapalooza in front of 50,000 people. It’s just been wild man, seeing the world and seeing the progression of things. … It’s crazy to think about. I feel like we have 10 years of memories packed into this one year.” While they’ll continue to tour in earnest in 2012, most of the year will be dedicated to writing and recording the follow-up to their Torches debut. Not surprisingly, Foster said the band’s new stuff has been heavily influenced by their time away from home. “We’ve gotten to write some stuff on the road so far, but haven’t really gotten to dive into it too much yet,” he said. “We’ve just been kind of throwing everything against the wall, idea-wise, like, ‘We should try this and we should try this,’ all these different boundaries to work within, because sometimes it can be really daunting I think, if you don’t have certain boundaries when writing a song. “There’s definitely musical elements that we’ve talked about — you know, really leaning on the percussive nature of what our live show has turned into this year, and bringing that more out into the second record — just kind of experimenting, doing some different, weird studio tricks; just having fun with it. But you never really know until you get under the hood, so we’ll see what happens when we start.” Are you looking forward to the next FTP album? Tell us in the comments! Blink-182’s ‘Up All Night’: Mark Hoppus Tells The Story

First Neighborhoods single ‘harder and heavier than its original incarnation,’ Hoppus writes in email to MTV News. By James Montgomery Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Photo: C Flanigan/ FilmMagic Sure, there’s already been a reunion tour , but Thursday, blink-182 officially returned with “Up All Night,” their first proper single in nearly seven years. And while the song recalls elements of Blink’s past (not to mention all those side projects), it’s by no means nostalgic. With its darkly undulating electronics, churning chords and Barker’s mighty mashing, it also represents a new Blink for a new millennium. And that’s even more impressive when you consider that the song’s actually been around for more than two years now, ever since Blink-182 first resumed jamming together in early 2009. During that time, it’s undergone some rather drastic changes, but it’s always remained core to what the band hoped to do on their new album, Neighborhoods. How do we know all this? Because Mark Hoppus told us, in an email Friday morning (July 15), just hours after “Up All Night” nearly broke the Internet. ” ‘Up All Night’ was the first song that we started writing when the band got back together,” he wrote. “The foundation of the song remains largely the same as when we first began, but over the past two years, as we’ve been recording others songs, coming back to this one, working on something else, coming back to this song, it’s gotten harder and heavier than its original incarnation. “Initially the chorus had much more air. It was a lofty, synth-y chorus, but we wanted the first song that people heard to be much more of a rocker. We changed a bunch of the instrumentation, recorded heavier guitars and bass, and Tom [DeLonge] wrote the progression that the guitars take on in the chorus,” he continued. “Then Travis [Barker] took it over and the drums really solidified the rock element of the track. The half-time intro of the last section was all him, and I think punctuates the song very well.” After all that work, you can imagine how thrilled the guys in Blink have been by the song’s initial reception. But that’s just the first part of their return. As Hoppus wrote, the next step is letting fans hear Neighborhoods itself. He’s beyond excited for that, too. “I’m so glad to finally have new music out, and cannot believe how well it has been received,” he wrote. “[Our website] crashed out several times, my Google-plus account crashed out twice, and blink-182 was a top trending topic worldwide. Totally amazing. Now, I can’t wait for the album itself to be released.” Share your review of “Up All Night” in the comments below! Related Artists blink-182

Time Managing Editor Rick Stengel ‘Sad’ Israel-West Bank Wall ‘Has Actually Worked’

In Time Magazine Managing Editor Rick Stengel’s mind, it’s really “sad” that the wall between Israel and the West Bank – intended to keep murderous terrorists in the Palestinian territory – has been a success. Stengel apparently considers Isreali deaths worthwhile if they lead to more productive peace talks. In a “Morning Joe” segment yesterday titled “Why Israel doesn’t care about peace” – after the upcoming Time cover story – Stengel posited that the lack of violence in Isreal is responsible for that country’s supposed reluctance to reach a peace deal. Stengel stated (video below the fold – h/t Jim Hoft ): They haven’t had a car bombing in two and a half years. And the sad truth really is that the wall with the West Bank has actually worked . I mean, most Israelis in the course of their lives don’t come into contact with any Palestinians at all. The wall is functioning. And the Gaza strip is so small and so isolated they feel that those folks, the Hamas folks are not that big of a threat… I mean, the Israelis feel like, you know what? The status quo isn’t so bad and we don’t mind is there is no peace at all. So the truth is sad, presumably, because the deaths of innocent Israelis would be a worthwhile price to pay for the progression of Middle East peace talks, by Stengel’s account. That is what Stengel is saying: the wall has succeeded, but at the price of impeding the peace talks. He says that fact is sad, meaning no wall, or a less effective wall would be preferable. More Israelis would die from car bombings, but at least the peace talks would move forward. Stengel believes it would be preferable for more Israelis to be killed by Palestinain terrorists, if it meant that those murderers would get Israeli leaders to the negotiating table. Good to know. This is not a commentator saying this, mind you. This is the managing editor of Time magazine opining that more Israeli deaths would be preferable to the status quo. If this does not convince you that the mainstream media is decidedly anti-Israel, nothing will. The contention that Israel is less interested in peace talks because it does not have much to fear from the belligerent territory to its west is a valid concern, and does not require one to weigh in on the Israeli/Palestinian issue. But Stengel made a value judgment on that statement, claiming that more Israeli deaths (how many more he didn’t specify) are an acceptable sacrifice. That speaks volumes about Time’s ability to weigh in objectively on the issue.
