Justin Timberlake can make us laugh. He can make us swoon. But can he make us sit on the edge of our seat and wonder what will happen next? The singer/actor will attempt to do so later this year, starring in In Time along with Amanda Seyfried, Alex Pettyfer and Cillian Murphy. Below, watch Timberlake fight for his life in a future society where time has replaced money as currency: In Time Trailer
A trip to one’s spouse’s grandmother’s house isn’t a big deal for most, but most of our grandmas aren’t monarchs, nor do they live in palaces. On Friday, Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II went on a one-on-one tour of the exhibitions for the summer opening of Buckingham Palace. The exhibits prominently feature the April 29 royal wedding. Among the items on display are Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress , her Cartier tiara, and the three-foot-tall wedding cake. Here’s the Queen and Duchess taking it in … The Duchess and the Queen admire a piece of history . [Photos: Fame Pictures]
Demi Lovato has sent two important messages to fans. One personal, one professional. The singer is NOT dating Ryan Phillippe . Tweeted Lovato last night: “Ladies and gentlement [sic], and also BLOG SITES – I. AM. SINGLE. I’m not dating anyone. I’m loving my independence right now.” Her new album will be released on September 20! The new CD is expected to feature an R&B slant, as Demi recently teased a duet with a special artist from that industry. Who will it be?!? We’ll find out this fall. [Photo: WENN.com]
This weekend at Buckingham Palace, it will feel like April 29 all over again. A new exhibit showcasing Kate Middelton’s wedding dress, tiara and more opens to the public Saturday, with over 125,000 advance tickets already sold. The exhibit will also display her shoes, jewelry, an artificial version of Kate’s bouquet, and even the wedding cake, minus its top three layers, obviously. The Duchess herself will be checking the exhibit out today alongside HRM Queen Elizabeth II, with whom she’ll hang out later this summer as well. Seeing the iconic dress in person, a USA Today reporter gushed over the details in the gown, which is “British craftsmanship at its best,” such as: “The sumptuousness of the lace flowers sewn onto the skirt and bodice, the deep vertical pleats that fall gracefully from the waistline down to the hem, the train’s elaborate individual panels, deliberately engineered to hold their shape.” Whatever that means, Kate Middleton sure looked elegant. The shoes for the big day, also by Alexander McQueen, were covered in white lace and featured heels 3-4 inches high. The exhibit ends October 3.
How nice, and rare, to see celebrity scandals end well for a change. Turns out Christina Aguilera’s boyfriend Matt Rutler was NOT too drunk to drive after all. Rutler got popped for DUI back in March, but citing insufficient evidence to prosecute, the L.A. District Attorney determined he won’t be charged with a crime. That’s because his blood alcohol content was ultimately determined to be .06, or under California’s legal limit to operate a vehicle, .08. So why was he busted? Matt has even more to smile about now that he’s in the clear! Aguilera, a passenger in the car at the time, was busted for public drunkenness when officers determined she was too plowed to take care of herself . Matt Rutler was likely arrested on suspicion of DUI by association. Hours after the arrest, officials decided they would not pursue any charges against the singer. Now they’ve exonerated her man, as well. Good for them. Well, except for the whole downward spiral thing.
The gold standard for bad movies getting Oscar love has to be 2007’s multiple Razzie-winning Norbit , which earned an Oscar nod for Best Make-up, and from that moment forward demanded to be called by its rightful name: ” The Academy Award-Nominated Norbit .” (Shudder.) This year’s crop of Oscar-nominated critical duds are cinematic masterworks by comparison — and most of them can thank the thankless effects, costume, and sound mixing technicians for the profile-boost — but still… who’da thunk these 8 films would have come this far?
This weekend, James Cameron delivers Sanctum , a rare Cameron produced movie that he didn’t direct. But how did Cameron, the director of the two most successful films of all time, get to this point after his disaster of a big-screen debut, Piranha II: The Spawning ? You can always trace a direct line through a handful of projects (not necessarily his best projects, mind you) to illustrate what led to a director’s current success. And with Cameron, it appears, up to this point, everything that he touches turns into gold (literally, because, you know, his movies make a lot of money).
That was fast ! Barely three hours after it began circulating that Queen Elizabeth II saw — and apparently loved — The King’s Speech , The Weinstein Company released a press release trumpeting her royal approval. But will the quick response wind up backfiring?
