New Black Kid On The Block: Philly Singer T’Melle Survived Crash That Killed Left Eye To Pursue Her R&B Dreams

Meet T’melle , she’s the artist formerly signed to Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes who was actually shooting the video footage that captured the car crash that claimed Lopes’ life. She’s got a new mixtape out and we wanted to share some music from it and give you a little more info about her. Check out her song below: T’melle, R&B’s newest bad girl is ready to take listeners on a spectacular ride. She hails from Philadelphia, a city known for fostering some of the best artists in the music industry. Soulful with an edge would best describe T’melle, but her music has no boundaries. T’melle’s musical journey began as a member of Egypt, a local Philadelphia female group signed to the late Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes of the group TLC. After braving the trauma of a devastating car accident which caused the loss of her mentor and left her hospitalized and diagnosed to never walk again, T’melle went into survival mode. Determined to not only walk again, but to run and eventually dance and perform, she fought to regain her mobility by never losing sight of her dreams. Along her musical journey she’s worked with super producers; Bryan Cox, Tricky Stewart, and Rodney Jerkins to name a few. She’s also toured with Usher and opened for artists such as Keyshia Cole, 2 Chains, Lyfe Jennings, Cash Out and more. T’melle has over 50k twitter followers and has received over 600k YouTube views. Armed with an arsenal of music and an incredible stage show, T’melle is ready to meet her destiny and finally share her story. Listen to her song “Pill” here: Download: tmelle-pill.mp3 Her mixtape “The Interview” hosted by DJ Scream and DJ X-Rated is a musical kaleidoscope into her world. She reveals her softer side on her current single “Pill”, a ballad featured on rapper Future’s Molly World 2 Mixtape. The song is a follow-up to “Go to War” featuring Waka Floka, a battle cry for the true ride or die chick. In “Tupac and Biggie”, she pays homage to the two rap greats by using them to describe attributes for her ideal mate. Earlier this year, DJ Greg Street hand-picked the song for his “We Got Next” mixtape series. Be sure to follow T’melle on twitter @itstmelle and visit her online at http://www.itstmelle.com . No Love: Fan Launches Online Petition To Stop Ci-Error From Making Music

Dayyyum CiCi… Fan Launches Petition To Stop Ciara From Singing A disgruntled fan recently launched a petition to stop recording artist Ciara from sharing her questionable vocal talents with the world. The petition, titled “2012 Stop Ciara From Making Music Campaign,” has only received a little over 250 signatures to date but is quickly spreading across social media networks. CiCi and her goodies have been off the music scene as of late but she’s reportedly back in the studio with producers Rodney Jerkins and Jermain Dupri working on new material. We’re sure she’s “speechless” at this petition. Hit the flip to see  CiCi and her  non-singing self  blondie-locks hard at work in the studio. Images via Twitter

Nelly Furtado Says ‘Big Hoops’ Inspired By Odd Future’s ‘Rawness’

‘I was inspired by how dark it sounded and how heavy and visceral,’ Furtado tells MTV News about rap collective. By Jocelyn Vena Nelly Furtado Photo: MTV News Nelly Furtado proclaims her allegiance to a major fashion accessory — hoop earrings — on her feel-good track “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better).” While she was influenced by her mall-rat youth when she sat down to make the track with producer Rodney Jerkins, it was also the antic-loving rap outfit Odd Future who sonically creeped inside her and totally shaped the record’s sound. ” ‘Big Hoops’ is a special tune for me for a few different reasons,” Furtado told MTV News when she stopped by our office Tuesday to discuss the thumping anthem about loving your jewelry and, more importantly, yourself. “The state of mind I was in, I was actually listening to a lot of different music a few weeks before,” she continued. “I think I was listening to Odd Future or something, and I was inspired by how dark it sounded and how heavy and visceral and how it made your blood feel things. And I just thought, ‘Wow — that’s really missing in music. We’re missing that rawness, that energy and that power.’ ” When Furtado decided to embrace her own power, she crafted a tune that expresses who she is when she is onstage — full of bravado and holding her “sword,” her microphone. “Hoops” also pays homage to the girl she was as a teen growing up in Canada, hoping to become pop star she is today. “I think music can tap into a lot of powerful emotions, and I think in the studio on ‘Big Hoops’ I tapped into a really powerful memory of being 14 years old, completely in love with hip-hop and R&B along with all my friends, and putting on my sister’s big hoop earrings and heading down to the mall to hang out with my backpack and jeans,” Furtado recalled. She also shared that, in addition to working on her looks back then, she was also “writing rhymes and hanging out and freestyling on the corner and feeling famous already, even though I clearly wasn’t at 14.” Despite not yet having fame and fortune, she explained, there was an emotion she felt then that she still feels now: “But I felt [famous], and I think when you’re that age, you have your inner gumption already,” she said. “So ‘Big Hoops’ taps into that power.” “Hoops” is the lead single off her upcoming album, The Spirit Indestructible , out in September. It’s her first English-language album since the chart-topping Loose , which she released in 2006. She dropped a Spanish-language album, Mi Plan , in 2009.

Adele’s Brit Awards Interruption ‘A Shame’

‘I went straight backstage and spoke to her. I just wanted to say ‘I’m so sorry,’ ‘ show’s host James Corden says. By Jocelyn Vena Adele at the Brit Awards 2012 Photo: Getty Images Adele made headlines this week when she flashed her middle finger during the Brit Awards . The singer’s naughty gesture took place when she was interrupted during her acceptance speech for the Album of the Year award for her record-breaking 21. It all went down when the show’s host, British TV presenter and actor James Corden, hit the stage mid-speech and cut her off to introduce Brit rockers Blur’s performance. In the heat of the moment, the chart-topping British songstress threw up her middle finger to the show’s producers. In an interview with The Sun , Corden opened up about the headline-making moment. “Just after Adele said thank you, people were saying ‘You have to go on now. You have to do it now.’ I said: ‘How can we cut her off?’ It was such a surreal moment, all you can hear is five people in your ear having an argument and there’s one overriding voice saying ‘James you have to,’ ” he explained. “It’s a shame but it’s a live show and what can you do? It’s one of those things. The channel will learn from it, we’ll all learn from it and rectify that and change it next year.” Corden added, “I was so upset I didn’t even watch Blur. I went straight backstage and spoke to her. I just wanted to say ‘I’m so sorry, if I had it my way …’ — but unfortunately you can’t make those calls. It would have been a wonderful TV moment for Adele to have her moment in the sun and say what she had to say.” Related Photos Brit Awards 2012: Highlights Related Artists Adele

Justin Bieber Reveals Release Dates For New Singles

Bieber’s Far East Movement collabo drops next week, followed by his first Believe single in March. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: James Devaney/ Getty Images Fans who want to hear some new music from Justin Bieber won’t have to wait much longer. The singer has revealed that he’s set to drop not one but two singles in the very near future. First off, Bieber’s collaboration with Far East Movement , which also features Party Rockers LMFAO, drops on Tuesday. The Twitter announcement for the release included the hashtag “#LiveMyLife,” perhaps a hint as to the name of the song. The song’s producer, RedOne, recently spoke to MTV News about the track. “I did a few songs with Far East Movement, and one of the songs … to me, it’s a smash,” he said. “And Justin sang the chorus. It’s a really good song, and I think people are gonna dance like crazy to it.” In addition to the release, Bieber revealed that his first single off his forthcoming album Believe will drop in March. “And u guys keep asking. so yeah. my single is NEXT MONTH> #BELIEVE,” he wrote. Little else is know about the song, but given the caliber of talent he’s been recording with for the album of the same name, it’s certain to be something his Beliebers will look forward to. For the album, he’s hooked up with everyone from Pharrell and Rodney Jerkins to Drake, Lil Wayne, Timbaland and will.i.am. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition, because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” vocal producer Kuk Harrell told us. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” It’s an exciting time for Bieber. As he continues to up his professional game, he’s also about to celebrate a personal milestone: The teen star will turn 18 on March 1.
