So Long Shady Beyotch! Phaedra Parks Says She’s Still Planning To Divorce Apollo Nida While He’s Locked Up

Poor Apollo …sike! Phaedra Parks Says She’s Divorcing Apollo Nida Even though he was seen on the last episode of “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” trying his damnedest to kiss on and cuddled up to his wife Phaedra Parks, Apollo Nida will be a single man when he’s released from jail. US Magazine reports: Phaedra Parks is moving on. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star confirmed on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, Dec. 21, that she and her estranged, incarcerated husband Apollo Nida are ending their marriage. Parks caught up with host Andy Cohen on WWHL following Sunday’s tense new episode of RHOA. In the latest installment of the Bravo reality show, Nida is shown canoodling his not-too-receptive wife and attempting to get back into her good graces after being convicted of fraud. The Atlanta-based attorney told Cohen that Nida’s efforts were in vain. He is currently serving an eight-year sentence at prison in Kentucky, and by the time he is released, he will likely be divorced. “Well, we’re amicably resolving this marriage,” she said as she nodded and pulled a knowing face. “We’re resolving this marriage… resolving to dissolve, yes.” Phaedra also denied reports that she’s keeping her two young sons away from their father. As Parks and Nida move toward parting ways, the outspoken star and her two young sons have been in contact with the jailed Nida. Before reporting to prison, he became a father for the second time when Parks gave birth to son Dylan, 19 months. The embattled couple also has an older son Ayden, 4. “I talk to him at least, if not five, six times a week, if not more,” Parks said of Nida, adding that the kids are “definitely in contact” with their father.   So long shady sucka! Can you really blame ATTORNEY Phaedra Parks for wanting to distance herself from her shady stealing felon bae??? Continue reading

Nelly Furtado Says ‘Big Hoops’ Inspired By Odd Future’s ‘Rawness’

‘I was inspired by how dark it sounded and how heavy and visceral,’ Furtado tells MTV News about rap collective. By Jocelyn Vena Nelly Furtado Photo: MTV News Nelly Furtado proclaims her allegiance to a major fashion accessory — hoop earrings — on her feel-good track “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better).” While she was influenced by her mall-rat youth when she sat down to make the track with producer Rodney Jerkins, it was also the antic-loving rap outfit Odd Future who sonically creeped inside her and totally shaped the record’s sound. ” ‘Big Hoops’ is a special tune for me for a few different reasons,” Furtado told MTV News when she stopped by our office Tuesday to discuss the thumping anthem about loving your jewelry and, more importantly, yourself. “The state of mind I was in, I was actually listening to a lot of different music a few weeks before,” she continued. “I think I was listening to Odd Future or something, and I was inspired by how dark it sounded and how heavy and visceral and how it made your blood feel things. And I just thought, ‘Wow — that’s really missing in music. We’re missing that rawness, that energy and that power.’ ” When Furtado decided to embrace her own power, she crafted a tune that expresses who she is when she is onstage — full of bravado and holding her “sword,” her microphone. “Hoops” also pays homage to the girl she was as a teen growing up in Canada, hoping to become pop star she is today. “I think music can tap into a lot of powerful emotions, and I think in the studio on ‘Big Hoops’ I tapped into a really powerful memory of being 14 years old, completely in love with hip-hop and R&B along with all my friends, and putting on my sister’s big hoop earrings and heading down to the mall to hang out with my backpack and jeans,” Furtado recalled. She also shared that, in addition to working on her looks back then, she was also “writing rhymes and hanging out and freestyling on the corner and feeling famous already, even though I clearly wasn’t at 14.” Despite not yet having fame and fortune, she explained, there was an emotion she felt then that she still feels now: “But I felt [famous], and I think when you’re that age, you have your inner gumption already,” she said. “So ‘Big Hoops’ taps into that power.” “Hoops” is the lead single off her upcoming album, The Spirit Indestructible , out in September. It’s her first English-language album since the chart-topping Loose , which she released in 2006. She dropped a Spanish-language album, Mi Plan , in 2009.

Kristen Stewart Reviews Rob Pattinson’s ‘Cosmopolis’

‘It’s so good, it’s so cool, I’m so proud of him,’ she gushes to MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Kristen Stewart made quite a statement when she attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “Cosmopolis” last week in support of co-star (and boyfriend?) Robert Pattinson . So when MTV News caught up with her during our Sneak Peek Week Q&A for her latest movie, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” we had to ask for her review of the film. “He’s so good in it!” Stewart gushed about Pattinson’s performance. “He’s really, really [good]. I don’t even know how he [did it]. I couldn’t even understand it. It’s so good, it’s so cool, I’m so proud of him. Thank God.” The superstar went said her overall experience at the highbrow film bonanza was just as positive as her review of Pattinson’s performance. “It’s the ultimate celebration,” she said of the glitz and glamour of the fest, which she also attended on behalf of her film “On the Road.” “I was so oddly placed in my body, which I’m so unable to do. I was not nervous. I had the greatest time it was so cool.” After its Cannes premiere, critics pointed out the film’s odd notes but were divided on whether Pattinson was the perfect choice for the lead role. Directed by David Cronenberg, the film follows Eric Packer (Pattinson) in the not-too-distant future as he’s chauffeured through Manhattan on his way to get a haircut. His entire world is falling apart — his marriage is failing, his financial status is slipping and even his very life is being threatened. Kreayshawn Didn’t ‘Intentionally’ Dis Rick Ross

‘There’s no Rick Ross offensive things going on in there, even though it sounds like it,’ she tells MTV News of recent radio freestyle. By Steven Roberts Kreayshawn Photo: MTV News Kreayshawn has received her fair share of hate over her relatively brief career. The Best New Artist nominee at the 2011 VMAs exploded onto the scene with “Gucci Gucci,” but critics have been quick to write her off as a flash in the pan. Find out how to win a trip to the VMAs courtesy of Foursquare and MTV! Her freestyle on Philly’s “Cosmic Kev Come Up Show” earlier this month didn’t do her any favors either. During the less-than-stellar display, Kreayshawn took a shot at Rick Ross and his much-scrutinized past as a corrections officer. “You tryin’ to play me like a boss? You faker than Rick Ross,” she rapped on-air. When MTV News caught up with Kreay earlier this week, she said she wasn’t intending to dis the Maybach Music Group boss — even though she admits it came across that way. “I feel like with anything, you’re painting a picture. I’ve never, ever intentionally dissed anybody my whole career, and I don’t do that personally with friends either,” the Bay Area rapper said. “I’m not like a person to go against anyone or anything. So hey, no offense to you Rick Ross. There’s no Rick Ross offensive things going on in there, even though it sounds like it.” Kreayshawn explains why Diddy is her “dad.” Kreayshawn said she doesn’t know Ross and was just trying to make words rhyme. Hopefully things turn up for Kreay on Sunday, August 28, at the 2011 VMAs. She is up Best New Artist alongside other hip-hop rising stars, including Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa and Tyler, the Creator, as well as rock group Foster the People. ‘Jersey Shore’ High Five: Hair Flies And Hate Sex

From a house-wide brawl to Vinny and Angelina’s out-of-nowhere hookup, we recap this week’s episode of ‘Jersey Shore.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Snooki and Vinnie on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV When we last left the “Jersey Shore,” the housemates were in the middle of mediating a highly emotional dispute or, as most viewers saw it, getting ready to throw down. Things came to a head after Vinny let JWoww know that Angelina was telling the rest of the gang about Pauly D’s “drunkity” state. Eventually, the issue turned into a smackdown between JWoww and Sammi, who were already giving each other the side-eye over the infamous “anonymous” letter to Sammi (which, we know, was penned by Snooki and JWoww) detailing Ronnie’s conquests. But that was just the first five minutes. Here’s a recap of the biggest moments from Thursday’s “Jersey Shore”: 5. Ferry Love After Vinny called out Angie’s town-crier approach to Pauly’s drunken night, the Staten Islanders spent most of the episode going at each other’s necks. Angelina even laid out her distaste for Vinchenzo at the gelato shop, telling Mike, “He’s not even good-looking, so he needs to jump off the ‘I’m good-looking’ train.” But by the episode’s final cab ride home, guess which two ferry-riders were sucking face in the back seat? Even the dude who laced Angie with a spankin’ new Fossil timepiece didn’t get all that. 4. Snooki the Multitasker Snooks finally got some action! Hurrah! Apparently, she didn’t waste precious bar banter coaxing details from her date and waited instead until they hit the sheets. The late-night canoodling woke up roomie JWoww with a mixture of moans and queries like, “How far you do live from here?” 3. Is Ronnie R. Kelly? Ron-Ron has been pretty much dogging Sammi for most of the season and, of course, the resident “Shore” philosopher Mike served up an insightful assessment of the situation. “He’s been peeing on her, and she’s still with him,” The Situation observed. “This is like when you’re a little kid and you find out Santa Claus is dead.” And everyone knows that finding out Santa died — instead of, you know, never existing in the first place — is way more traumatic. 2. Girlfight JWoww and Sammi didn’t hold back in the epic episode-opening catfight, which, as Ron-Ron put it, was “like putting firecrackers in a Dumpster.” The brawl sent parts of the d
