Spider-Man Is THISCLOSE To Picking Its New Peter Parker

According to Movieline sister site Deadline, Sony executives are reportedly closing in on picking their new Spider-Man , and on Friday viewed the screen-tests of the lucky final few. Can you feel the excitement? Once selected, the newly-crowned wall-crawler will begin production before year’s end on the film, scheduled for July 2, 2012. Director Marc Webb is working off a script from James Vanderbilt — whose script previous Spider-Man director Sam Raimi reportedly did not like but Sony thought was A-OK for them. The new Spidey will be filmed in glorious (read: we can charge you suckers an extra 7 bucks) 3D. So, which actors made it through to the swimsuit competition that is the screen test?

Say Hello To THESE! Judy Greer Joins New CBS Comedy

Fresh from setting the comedy world on fire in Marmaduke , Judy Greer has been cast in CBS’ s new comedy Mad Love which follows four friends as they look for love in New York City. Greer joins the cast which includes Sarah Chalke, Tyler Labine, and Jason Biggs. For those keeping track at home, Greer replaces Lizzy Caplan who was a replacement herself for Ashley Austin Morris. Add to the fact that Labine was brought in as a replacement for Dan Fogler and Chalke replaced Minka Kelly, and this makes Mad Love only the 87th most volatile show on television. [ Deadline ]

Scrubs actress Sarah Chalke and fiance Jamie Afifi are expecting their first child, her rep confirmed this afternoon. The little bundle of joy is due this winter! The couple has been engaged since December 2006, when Jamie Afifi, a successful entertainment lawyer, proposed to Sarah Chalke on a Hawaiian vacation. “The best is just knowing that 100 percent somebody always has your back and you always have theirs,” Chalke said early this year about being engaged
