Source: splash / Splash News 21 Savage Turns Himself In It’s been one hell of a month for 21 Savage , and it seems as though things just keep getting crazier. Just days after being released from ICE custody , the Atlanta rapper turned himself to South Georgia police on Friday for a felony theft charge stemming from an incident in 2016. TMZ reports: In 2016, 21 was booked to play a club gig in Southern Georgia. We’re told 21 got a $9,500 advance from the promoter and got the $7,500 balance when he showed up at the club. For some reason, 21 bailed without taking the stage, but still left with the money. In all, the promoter claimed she was out $17,000. The promoter went to cops in October 2016, filed a police report and then filed paperwork to get a felony warrant. 21 was released from jail Saturday morning on his own recognizance and awaits his court date. Prayer up for the young star.
Rapper 21 Savage is finally free! He was released from US immigration custody on Wednesday, where he was being held for overstaying a visa over a decade ago, his attorney Charles Kuck said. 21 Savage, whos unfortunate real name is Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was released on bond and a photo was provided to CNN, by his attorneys, that showed the rapper and his mother boarding a private plane after his discharge. He was arrested by ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) on February 3, which said he was born in the United Kingdom and was in the United States illegally. His birth certificate proves that he was born in East London to British parents. This deeply disputed arrest also showed the seriousness at stake for undocumented immigrants in America, “particularly in the Trump era,” shared CNN . Allowing other artists throughout the country to come forward and address the problem at hand. Including Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled, America Ferrera, Common and SZA. “No person in the world deserves to be treated like this,” DJ Khaled said in a video released by the website Mic . “The time for change is now.” The video also created a petition to #Free21Savage. He was scheduled to perform at the Grammys on Sunday night with Post Malone during his “Rockstar” performance and he was also nominated in several categories. Post was even wearing a shirt with the rapper’s stage name on it underneath his jacket during his performance with Red Hot Chili Peppers. But the special moment came when songwriter of “This is America”, Ludwig Coransson, made sure to mention his friend in his own award speech. “We want to thank all the rappers that are featured on the song. 21 Savage, who should be here tonight,” which gained large applause from the audience, including Post Malone. His attorneys Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro, issued a statement Tuesday on behalf of the performer: “21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters – he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and was grateful for the support from around the world. “And is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together,” the statement said. “He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.” It is too common and tragic that so many individuals grow up in America believing they’re American, yet end up getting deported. The rapper first came to the US in 2005 at 7-years-old. But in 2006 his parents failed to renew his visa. Therefore, he has been living in the US illegally since then, according to immigration officials. Kuck has said his client has a U-visa application pending with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, according to CNN and “has relief from removal available to him.” This visa application was filed in 2017 and still has yet to be approved. He filed four years after he was reportedly shot six times during an incident in which a close friend of his died. A U-visa is available to those who have been victims of a crime in the United States, have suffered physical or mental injury as a result of a crime and who are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in an investigation, according to ICE. LaPolt said in a statement to CNN that “Mr. Abrham-Joseph is a role model to the young people in this country, especially in Atlanta, Georgia, and is actively working in the community leading programs to help underprivileged youths in financial literacy.” After the rappers hit song “Bank Account” he announced a campaign last year that gave 21 teens $1,000 to start their own bank accounts and learn about financial literacy. “It’s ironic because growing up in Atlanta, I knew almost nothing about bank accounts, 21 Savage said in a March news release. “Now that I do have money in my bank account, I want to help kids with a background similar to mine to get smart about their money.” CNN reports that this is not the only run-in Savage has had with the police. Back in October 2014, Savage was convicted in Fulton County, Georgia, on counts of marijuana possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm or knife, delivery, distribution and/or possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The rapper’s representatives said the “conviction was expunged.” But like his latest album states, “I Am > I Was”. Atlanta’s underground and elite hip-hop scene gained Savage around 2013 and since then he has conquered the music game. We are all glad to have him back and maybe we will release a hit soon about his occurrence. Which will hopefully inform the world on the Immigration system and how it needs some major adjusting. You guys, we’re starting to think Chris Brown may have an anger problem. No, really. We think this really could be the case. Just consider the way in which Brown absolutely WENT OFF on Offset this week… Fresh off an allegation of rape , the singer blasted Cardi B’s husband after Offset stood up for his troubled friend, 21 Savage. And we mean blasted . Allow us to explain what happened, okay? Last Sunday morning, 21 Savage was detained by ICE and threatened with deportation. Targeted as part of a raid, rapper really may be kicked out of the United States due to a visa issue and forced to return to the United Kingdom. It’s a pretty sensitive issue… that Brown made fun of by sharing footage in which someone with a British accent does a voiceover against the backdrop of an Offset music video. “CMON FAM, STOP PLAYING WIT DA MANS DEM,” Brown wrote as a caption. Replied Offset, who released a collaborative album with 21 Savage in 2017, “Memes ain’t funny lame.” And that was enough to trigger Brown. Big time. YOU LIL BOY. BETTER WORRY ABOUT WHAT U GOT GOING AND FOCUS ON “YOU,” Brown wrote to Offset, adding in even more anger: All this call on IG IS WHAT’S LAME. YO ENERGY WONT LIKE THAT WHEN I CAME TO THE DRAKE SHOW IN LA… IF U DONT GET YO A HIOP A HOP A HIBBET A BIBBET TO THE HIP HIP HOP AND YA DONT STOP THE ROCKIN FACEASS… OUT TO MY COMMENTS. Brown wasn’t finished throwing his tempter tantrum, either. He concluded as follows: SENSITIVE ASS N-GGA. CALL ME PERSONALLY. U WANT SOME CLOUT WHEN ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS PULI UP. No camera no flexing and all at! IF YOU A REAL MAN FIGHT ME. Oh and another thing, SUCK MY DICK!!! Offset did eventually reply to Brown’s message on his Instagram Stories writing, “Coke head don’t want [smoke emoji].” He then deleted this message. Offset’s defense of 21 Savage comes after Cardi B, with whom he recently reconciled, called out conservative moron pundit Tomi Lahren on Twitter after she Tweeted about 21 Savage’s arrest. “I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight ICE agents ready to deport ya,” Lahren wrote in reference to the lyrics of 21 Savage’s song “Bank Account.” “Don’t make me get my leash,” Cardi wrote back, referring to a previous viral Tweet where she told Lahren that she would “dog walk” her . Meanwhile in a statement released Tuesday, 21 Savage’s attorneys addressed the claims that the artist overstayed his visa, along with the fan speculation that he was targeted due to a recent anti-ICE rap. This statement reads as follows… Many have speculated as to possible ulterior motives for his arrest and detention, including that he released music five days prior to his arrest by ICE, which included new lyrics condemning the behavior of immigration officials for their detention of children at the border. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was born in the United Kingdom. Mr. Abraham-Joseph arrived legally in the United States at the age of 7. He remained in the United States until 2005, when he departed for approximately one month to visit the United Kingdom. He returned to the United States under a valid H-4 visa on July 22, 2005. Mr. Abraham-Joseph has been continuously physically present in the United States for almost 20 years, except for a brief visit abroad. Unfortunately, in 2006 Mr. Abraham-Joseph’s legal status expired through no fault of his own ICE provided incorrect information to the press when it claimed he had a criminal conviction.

Until today, one voice we hadn’t heard was that of Shawn Corey Carter, but it wasn’t much of a mystery as to what side of this issue he would fall. Today, the Roc Nation head honcho not only released a statement but according to TMZ he also put his money in the mouth that the statement came from and hired lawyer Alex Spiro to help Savage. Jay described the arrest as “an absolute travesty” and went on to say that “In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately.” We couldn’t agree more. Obviously, 21 isn’t a Roc Nation artist, but that didn’t stop Hov from doing what he could to help the father, son, and one of hip-hop’s brightest stars. Alex Spiro is dedicated to seeing the man born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph free: “We are not going to stop until he is released, bonded out or in front of a judge … What we have here is someone who overstayed their Visa with an application pending for 4 years – not a convicted criminal that needs to be detained and removed but, by all accounts a wonderful person, father, and entertainer who has a marijuana offense which was vacated and sealed.” If you can’t respect that, ya whole perspective is wack and that’s that on that.
Source: Prince Williams / Getty It’s been a pretty tough and confusing weekend for 21 Savage and anyone that’s a fan of his music. Over the weekend, the rapper was taken into custody for possible removal from the U.S. TMZ reported, “21 Savage was picked up by ICE early Sunday morning. He apparently entered the U.S. legally in 2005 but his visa expired and he reportedly is here illegally. He reportedly is being held for removal proceedings … this for being in the country illegally and for being a felon. He was convicted of drug charges in 2014.” Lots of folks have pointed out that the timing of 21’s arrest is an eyebrow raiser. Not only that, but isn’t ICE’s job capture immigrants who are involved in illegal activity? We all know that Savage, whose r eal name is Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph , has a past — but he’s pretty much been on a strait and narrow for several years and doing so much for the African-American community. There’s so much more to the young star than tattoos, guns and an expired visa. Hit the flip for all the times 21 Savage made us love him.
21 Savage has had an interesting weekend. He was detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement for allegedly being a U.K resident while living in the United States. The rapper has always been thought to be a Atlanta native but now the United States is saying otherwise. 21 An ICE spokesperson said that he was actually from the U.K. and falsified his entire public persona. Now, the rapper’s alleged birth certificate has emerged which indicates that he was indeed born in the U.K. The Daily Mail Online published a photo of 21 Savage’s birth certificate earlier today. The document confirms that he was born at Newham Hospital in East London. The outlet also said that the birth certificate confirmed that 21 Savage lived in England for 12 years before he moved to Atlanta with his mother. Here’s a look at the alleged certificate: According to the Daily Mail the rapper has a set of twin sisters in London. The twins allegedly deleted all their pictures of their “brother” in fear of him being deported. His lawyers believe that ICE is attempting to “unnecessarily punish him.” He also claimed ICE is trying “to intimidate him into giving up his right to fight to remain in the United States.”
