This week on The Real Housewives of New York City, Sonja Morgan throws a Burlesque party and costumes are required as long as they show some skin. As always, THG recaps all the craziness in our +/- review! The Housewives have some serious mother / daughter bonding time with mixed results. Ramona takes Avery shopping … for a burlesque outfit? What exactly is she teaching her 16-year-old? Where to buy her bustiers and S & M gear? Minus 5 . But I must admit, Avery always seems to have more sense than her mother. She turns down an invite to the party and she earns a Plus 7 for telling Ramona that she’d look like a chicken in that feathered outfit.

Kim Kardashian Calls Attention to Armenian Genocide

Kim Kardashian made it clear a couple weeks ago: she isn’t only about red carpet photos and fashion. The reality star took major exception to her body being placed on the cover of Turkey’s Cosmopolitan , considering she’s of Armenian descent and that nation was responsible for acts of genocide against her people in the early 1900s. Now, with Genocide Remembrance Day schedule for Sunday, Kim has taken to her blog and posted the following message: “My family and I are incredibly proud of our heritage. My dad taught me a lot about Armenian culture, and I have a strong connection with my roots. Every year, I honor the memory of the martyrs who were killed during the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Even though so many countries around the world recognize the Genocide, the government of Turkey still denies it.” Approximately 1.5 million Armenians were killed by Ottoman Turks starting in 1915. Wrote Kardashian: “Until this crime is resolved truthfully and fairly, the Armenian people will live with the pain of what happened to their families and the fear of what might happen again to their homeland. So out of respect for all those innocent people that died, I’m putting a spotlight on it today…” [Photo: WENN.com]

The Real Housewives of New York City Recap: A Hairy Mess!

The Real Housewives of New York City were back again last night with speed dating, runway walks, and hair removal, and the results are simply ridiculous. Ramona is asked to take another run at the catwalk. Given the fiasco her walk created last year I can only imagine that she’s invited back as a publicity stunt. It’s hard to say which is funnier, Ramona’s zombie eyed expression or the height difference between her and all of the other models. One by one these tall, slender, professional models hit the runway and then there’s Ramona and you have to look two feet lower. As one of the ladies quipped, it’s like Ramona is the mascot. Alex gives modeling a go as well with a campy photo shoot. OK, I guess it’s trying to be high fashion but the entire picture was absurd. I’m not sure what was worse, the hair teased to look like a brillo pad, the overly dramatic eye makeup, or Alex’s strange expressions. Then Alex shows up to Ramona’s event wearing the get up she was photographed in. I know she says she had to run straight from the photo shoot, but showing up with that hair took guts. The ladies comments range from asking if she wore a wig, wondering if she’d had an electrical shock, and thinking she was a koochi girl.

Brian Farrell: Dating Sonja Morgan!

What can viewers expect when The Real Housewives of New York City returns with season four on April 7? This preview offers an overall tease. But let’s get more specific: over at least the first two episodes, we’ll meet Brian Farrell, a 42-year old artist who grew up in Long Island and is dating cast member Sonja Morgan. According to his Facebook page, Farrell grew up with an alcoholic and physically abusive father. He subsequently battled depression and even attempted suicide on more than one occasion. “Today, I am no longer drinking or take any medications,” he writes on that social networking page. “I enjoy a healthy life of yoga, surfing, sleep and diet.” No word on whether or not Farrell is still dating Morgan, but she gushes about him on the premiere: “We have all these hedge-fund banker friends together. I get my financing from them and they buy his paintings… He comes in these tight white T-shirts with the jeans hanging low.”

Don’t worry, Teresa Giudice . You aren’t the only member of the Real Housewives franchise who is an idiot with money. According to The Wall Street Journa l, Sonja Morgan filed for bankruptcy protection yesterday, listing $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets on her petition. We’ll give you a moment to let those numbers sink in… “The decision to seek bankruptcy was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life,” wrote the 46-year-old Bravo star, who was arrested for DUI this summer, in court papers. So, what role does John Travolta play in this? Morgan blames her mounting debt on a failed film venture with Hannibal Pictures Inc. She says she threw a lot of money into the production of Fast Flash to Bang Time , but the movie never began shooting because Travolta required “various conditions” that producers were unable to meet. Moreover, Morgan’s court documents cite her “bitter” divorce from her husband as a cause for her financial problems, adding to the overall point: anyone except Sonja Morgan herself is to blame for this, people!

Real Housewives Sonja Morgan Arrested

Sonja Morgan , a star of hit TV show Real Housewives of New York City , had a memorial day weekend to forget when she was arrested for drunk-driving. The 46-year-old failed to halt at a stop sign in Southampton Village, NY at 2.16am on Monday morning. According to reports, she refused to take a breathalyzer test so was taken to local police headquarters and handed a DWI (driving while intoxicated charge). She’s expected in court June 21st.

Sonja Morgan Arrested for DWI

Considering how Bravo’s Real Housewives like to throw around their money – seriously, read all about the party one of them threw for a nine-year old this week! – you’d think they could afford to hire a chauffeur. Instead Sonja Morgan got pulled over for drunk driving early this morning. The newest Real Housewives of New York City cast member failed to halt at a stop sign in Southampton Village around 2 a.m. and then proceeded to fail a field sobriety test. Morgan refused a Breathalyzer and was taken to local police headquarters, arrested for DWI. Sources told The New York Post she had been on the island throughout Memorial Day weekend. Morgan will appear in court to face the charge at a later date. Feel free to draw a mustache on her mug shot.
