Food Network Star took viewers to the movies last night. Though popcorn and Sour Patch Kids were definitely not on the menu. Indeed, a special episode of this Food Network hit featured a team challenge in which the contestants were tasked to create film-themed trailers for their food. We witnessed one dedicated to western, another to romance and a hilarious references to “50 Shades of Hot Sauce.” It’s unclear if that items came with chains and handcuffs. The latest special episode set on everyone’s favorite street, Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration, will focus on children who have parents who are in prison . Since an estimated 1 in 28 children have a parent in the pokey, the topic is timely. Sesame Street – Little Children, Big Challenges “What’s ‘carcerated’,” Zoe asks. “And why was your dad in it?” The latest Sesame Street special episode features a muppet named Alex and is intended to help children who find themselves in situations where a parent is in prison navigate that life. If Evil Elmo is Elmo’s dad, then Elmo should totally watch this. With new characters, musical numbers, special storybooks, and even its own app, Incarceration hopes to help ease the fears and frustrations real children feel when a parent is behind bars. Having tackled such topics as divorce and deployment, both of which mark changes to the family unit, Incarceration is an extension of what Sesame Street has already done. As an online-only kit, Incarceration clips won’t air during normal programming, and Alex won’t become a regular on Sesame Street . But since Oscar’s been in the can for 44 years now, Alex joining the show could totally work. The Jim Henson-created series, which has been on the air since 1969, has rarely shied away from controversy. Its audience was and has always been children and its purpose to talk to children about big issues in ways they can understand. Whether you’re Team Catherine or Team Lindsay, and whether you read The Bachelor spoilers or you don’t, we can all agree on the following point: Tierra LiCausi is insane. The Bachelor firebrand returns next Monday night for The Women Tell All Special, the annual pre-finale cat-fight-fest that will no doubt be all about her. The Bachelor Clip – Tierra LiCausi “Sparkle” The special episode, which reunites all of the women that competed for Sean Lowe’s heart, is mostly filler and largely uninteresting … but maybe not this year. After all, Tierra, who is now engaged to another man, is a total wildcard, and not just because she can’t control her infamous eyebrow (see clip above). “It’s my facial expression! Just like when you talk, you don’t know what you look like when you talk,” she reportedly says. “Who cares about my eyebrow?” “Who cares? That thing has its own Twitter!” Of course, the collective beef with Tierra extends beyond that thing. AshLee Frazier and the others will no doubt have a lot to say about Tierra’s attitude. Anderson Cooper positively destroyed Star Jones during a taping of his talk show this week. Sitting alongside Andy Cohen, the reporter addressed Jones’ comments that Cooper only came out as gay in order to garner ratings for his program. “I haven’t thought about Star Jones in I don’t know how long,” Anderson begins, as seen below. “I was unaware she was even on TV…” Anderson Cooper Goes Off on Star Jones From there, Cooper – who simply sent an email to his friend while on assignment for 60 Minutes – logically explained why Star’s assertion is utter nonsense. “If I was wanting to boost ratings, I would have waited to announce it on ‘A Very Special Episode’ that would have been promo’d for weeks and weeks and there would have been commercials … ‘Anderson’s Huge Announcement.'” He then went after Jones and her history of personal PR announcements: “As memory serves, in terms of boosting ratings, I seem to recall [Star] hocking her wedding every single day to get free products when she was on The View and I seem to recall her lying about her gastric bypass surgery and making everybody else lie about it as well. “So for her to suddenly emerge out of the shadows and suddenly attack me for this, I couldn’t believe it. Cooper concludes that he invited Jones to appear on his show, but she declined. “I would think she would want as much publicity as possible given her penchant for wanting publicity.” Game. Set. Reliable sources have confirmed that Melissa Etheridge really is dating Linda Wallem , the creator of Nurse Jackie and former best friend of ex-wife Tammy Lynn Michaels. That’s awkward. But it’s not nearly as awkward as the way in which Michales learned that Etheridge was being unfaithful, as explained in a new poem Tammy has posted on her website, titled “speak, spread walk the talk.” It tells the story of a mis-labeled box of dildos. On last night’s special episode, she went on a bender so magnificent that she got lost and couldn’t find the beach FROM THE BOARDWALK, then when she did make it down, proceeded to eat sand.
