Man Gets Felony Charge For Filling Courtesy Cup Up With Soda At A Florida McDonald’s Dayuuummm, how many of you have done this??? Police say a Naples man remains jailed on felony charges after leaving a McDonald’s restaurant without paying for a cup of soda. The Naples Daily News reports that after filling a courtesy cup with soda Thursday at the McDonald’s soda fountain, Mark Abaire, 52, was arrested by police and now faces a felony thrift charge. According to a manager, Abaire entered the store and asked for a glass of water around 10 p.m. Although the employee told him the cup was for water, Abaire filled it with soda from the fountain machine and sat outside the restaurant, an arrest report states. Abaire allegedly had a conversation with the manager and declined to pay for the soda, valued at $1. He reportedly refused to leave the premises and cursed at the manager. The charge is petty theft, but it was increased to a felony because Abaire has previous petty theft convictions. In Florida, a third-degree felony can result in a sentence of up to five years and a $5,000 fine. The newspaper reports Abaire faces additional misdemeanor counts of trespassing and disorderly intoxication. On Saturday, he remained in the Collier County jail with bond set at $6,500. Wow. 911 is a joke North Dakota Police Officer Keeps Job After Several Accounts Of Misconduct A Fargo police officer disciplined for having sex in his police car in 2002 has now been disciplined for leaving his police car unlocked, leading to the theft of police equipment. In the latest incident, officer Bret Witte left an unmarked police vehicle unlocked in his driveway on April 11 and someone stole several items from it, said Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel. The items included several pairs of handcuffs, a bulletproof vest, a handheld radio, a Taser, two loaded ammunition clips for a handgun and a knife, Vettel said. One set of handcuffs was recovered the next day in Moorhead after a man called dispatchers to say he needed help getting out of them, according to a search warrant filed in Clay County District Court. Ohhh but wait, it gets better… Vettel said Witte received a letter of reprimand for leaving valuable items in a car and leaving the car unlocked, something he said police often warn the public not to do. In the 2002 incident, Witte lost 15 days without pay after admitting to supervisors he had sexual relations in his squad car with an 18-year-old woman he was dating at the time. The same woman was arrested in 2004 as part of a Fargo prostitution sting and later convicted. Vettel confirmed Monday that Witte also was involved in an incident in which he tried to use a Taser on a driver who was leaving the scene of a traffic stop. It was determined that the use of force fell outside of department policy, Vettel said. He said Witte’s latest disciplinary action would have taken into account Witte’s past performance. “We look at not only the situation at hand, but also the totality of his entire career and work history,” Vettel said, adding that the decision would also have been based in part on the type of discipline other officers received for similar incidents. “Serve and protect” huh? The rhythm is gonna get ya… Rosa Acosta Dances In New “Entourage” Commercial Shot By Director X If you’ve missed Rosa’s moves, they show up in a brand new commercial for “Entourage” which is heading to the Spike network very soon. In honor of the move Director X was recruited to film a brand new promo. Check out her very special two step in the “Entourage” car: While the video is plenty (of a$$) on it’s own — King Magazine tracked down Director X to talk with him about the project. Check out some excerpts from their interview below: KING: Tell us how this “Independent Project” come about? DIRECTOR X: It’s just something we did. That’s actually the Entourage car from [the show’s opening sequence]. So, we’re shooting the commercial, and we have Rosa do a dance in the car. But Rosa is pretty talented. So, she goes and choreographs something in her head. That’s what I mean: she’s a next level type of girl. And she does this. It’s only two takes, something we shot at the end of the day. When I was in the edit I realized this is gold, it’s so good I had to do something else with it. So I had Snoop’s CD, grabbed [”Luv Drunk” featuring The-Dream”], I put the two together, it looked like that’s what she was dancing to, and boom: we got the independent project. So is Rosa the star of the video or is the car the star? C’mon, Rosa. It’s nice that the car is from Entourage, it’s f***ing amazing that Rosa is doing what she’s doing on it. But this was from her actual sequence in the commercial, right? Oh yeah, you see a clip [of this dance] in the Spike commercial. The concept of the commercial is these girls rapping about the fact that they were once in Entourage. The commercial has all kinds of crazy stuff, Gary Busey’s in there…it’s just kind of insane. [Rosa’s] platform was to dance in the car. And normally when you tell a girl that, they just freestyle it away. But she actually planned something out. I haven’t seen any girls do anything like that. So is this the beginning of something bigger? Or is this a one-and-done type of deal? One and done. I didn’t plan to do it, but I did it. The world deserves to see all that footage, so there you go. You’ve set more than a few trends in the Hip-Hop video world. Do you see someone dropping a video of a girl in a car anytime soon? Let’s see what happens and how people respond to it when we put this out. We all know what Snoop and Dream look like. Would it have been better if we saw [them] in there rapping and singing at some point? I don’t think so. I think it’s perfect with just two shots of Rosa on a car. One wide, one medium, and she dances and there you go. Now that the social awareness of hip-hop has broadened, do you see people doing more artistic, conceptual videos instead of the norm? I don’t know, man. People are kinda stuck in their ways, so I’d be surprised to see a really big shift. But things like this show you…you can make something engaging. But you have to have Rosa Acosta. You need a girl of that talent. It’s not just a hot girl shaking her a$$. Se fueron y no regresar… Cuban Actors From “Una Noche” Disappear Prior To Tribeca Film Festival In a case of life imitating art, a pair of young Cuban actors who were expected at the New York premiere of their film about defecting to the U.S. have disappeared after landing in Miami. The film “Una Noche” is about three young Cubans who decide to flee the country on a raft after one of them is accused of assault. The film follows the day they attempt to make it 90 miles across the ocean to Florida. All three of the film’s stars — Anailin de la Rua de la Torre, Javier Nunez Florian and Dariel Arrechaga — were expected to appear at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere. But Torre and Florian, both 19, were nowhere to be found the night of the event. “Only Dariel Arrechada attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere screening of ‘Una Noche’ on Thursday, April 19,” a spokeswoman for the Tribeca Film Festival said in a statement. “We have not had any contact with Anailin de la Rua de la Torre or with Javier Nunez Florian.” Tammie Rosen, spokeswoman for the festival, confirmed to ABCNews.com that all of the actors were invited to the festival. “We can’t say for sure what the status of these guys are,” Katie Tichacek Kaplan, spokeswoman for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), told ABCNews.com. “There are a number of things they could be thinking.
