Harvey Weinstein To Turn Himself In Over New York Sex Crime Charges

Source: New York Daily News Archive / Getty Amid news that New York prosecutors were set to levy charges against Harvey Weinstein , the former Hollywood producer made a preemptive maneuver. On Friday, Weinstein will hand himself over to authorities to face a number of sex crime charges. The New York Daily News reports : Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to authorities Friday to face charges related to alleged sexual misconduct in connection to a probe by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and NYPD, the Daily News has confirmed. The fallen former Hollywood honcho is facing charges in connection to at least one accuser — Lucia Evans — who reported to investigators that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004, sources said. Because of the nature of the allegations, the statute of limitations does not apply. As the outlet adds in its still-developing report, a grand jury has been assembled to look into matters of financial fraud connected to Weinstein. Over the course of Thursday morning, it was reported that prosecutors were mounting an investigation against Weinstein. — Photo: Getty

Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Claims to Be Investigated by LAPD

As you’re probably aware, Bill Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women in recent weeks.  Most of the alleged incidents took place several decades ago, meaning they’re beyond the statute of limitations for prosecution. Even so, TMZ is reporting that the Los Angeles Police Department is planning to investigate Judy Huth’s claim that Cosby assaulted her when she was just 15 years old. A spokesman for the department has reportedly stated that the department “has an obligation to investigate all crimes when a victim comes forward.” Sources say authorities are hoping that if they look into Huth’s claims and find them to be valid, the investigation might prompt other victims to come forward. However, there remains a good chance that even if police determine Cosby is guilty of the various sex crimes he’s been accused of, the TV icon might never see the inside of a courtroom. Attorney Gloria Allred has attempted to circumvent the statute of limitations issue by challenging Cosby to put up $100 million to prove his innocence. Allred has publicly asked Cosby to place the money in a trust for his victims, and allow a panel of retired judges to determine if he’s guilty or not. Cosby has yet to respond to the challenge. Kato says he has expressed his opinion over the years … that he THINKS Simpson killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman … but tells us, “I have no first hand knowledge.” SMH.

David Tyree, Super Bowl XLII Hero on Gay Marriage: A Step Toward Anarchy!

New England Patriots fans already hate David Tyree, the former Giants wide receiver whose miraculous catch in Super Bowl XLII enabled New York to pull off a major upset. Now, Pats’ fans will likely have some company. In an interview with National Organization for Marriage, Tyree took a controversial stance on gay marriage. If the institution is ever opened up to homosexuals, the wideout said: “This will be the beginning of our country sliding toward… it’s a strong word, but anarchy… “How can marriage be marriage for thousands of years and now all the sudden because a minority, an influential minority, has a push or agenda… and totally reshapes something that was not founded in our country.” Note : Tyree is African-American. Interracial marriage was illegal in the United States until 1967. Seems worth mentioning.

Dexter Isaac: I Killed Tupac Shakur!

Have we finally learned who killed Tupac Shakur? The rapper was gunned down in Las Vegas 17 years ago, though the case has remained unsolved ever since. Today, however, Dexter Isaac – an inmate in jail for murder – allegedly confessed to AllHipHop dot com. He says he was paid $2,500 to rob the iconic artist. “In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac Shakur at the Quad Studio,” Isaac claims. “He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Synthia Ried. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery. “I want to apologize to his family and for the mistake I did for that sucker.” Why did Isaac go on record now? Because the statute of limitations on the crime has expired. Do you believe he killed Tupac?

Drunk-Out Of Shape-Aunt Edna Goes Off On TSA Accusing Them Of Sexual Assault! [Video]

“at Sky Harbor International in Phoenix, AZ my mother was sexually assaulted which brought her to tears. Multiple TSA agents claimed to know my whole family (WELCOME TO 1984) TSA then threatened to steal my luggage because I left it unattended… rather because I was 10 feet from it. I was then threatened to have my ability to fly revoked by Southwest Airlines, NOT TSA. Southwest Airlines then threatened to have me arrested for filming the event, even though TSA, Southwest, and Phoenix Police couldn’t provide me with the statute or law that claims I cannot film in a public area. Here is that event. Police- Protecting and Serving??? Why is TSA asking for my father’s phone number and address at the end of this ordeal, to add us to a no-fly list or spy on us?” Sounds like she is faded and trying to come up to us…

In This Article, I Show How Easy It Is For Peaceful People to Violate the Patriot Act and Face 15 Years in Prison

The court handed down its decision in a case brought by the Humanitarian Law Project, an NGO that sought to advise the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) — which the U.S. considers a terrorist organization — on filing human rights complaints with the United Nations and conducting peace negotiations with the Turkish government. In its 6-3 decision, the supremes ruled that the statute didn’t trample the organization’s members’ rights to free speech and free assembly as long as they had no direct contact with the PKK. Ironically, in theory that means members of the Humanitarian Law Project can publicly urge the PKK to carry out deadly acts of terrorism without running afoul of the law, but they can’t work with the group in an effort to stop the violence. The decision casts the court’s rightward balance in sharp relief. Just months ago, the same court ruled in the Citizens United case that the government doesn’t have a sufficiently compelling interest in limiting political campaign dollars to infringe on the free speech rights of corporations — “artificial persons.” But the court, dismissing the admonition that those who would give up essential liberties for some temporary security deserve neither, was quick to accept the Justice Department’s claim that fighting terrorism trumps the rights of the Humanitarian Law Project. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts cited the Federalist Papers, which held that “security against foreign danger” is an “avowed and essential object” of the U.S. government. Opening the Door for (More) Political Prosecutions Arguably, the most fundamental flaw in the statute is that there is no apolitical and universally accepted definition of “terrorism.” The United Nations has wrangled with the issue for years, and the major obstacle is simple to understand: everyone wants to define it as political violence in furtherance of a goal with which they disagree. By criminalizing even a tenuous association with groups the U.S. government lists as terrorist organizations, the statute opens the door to prosecuting people for taking unpopular sides in remote conflicts. Sometimes, however, history proves those people were on the “right” side. Perhaps the most obvious example is the African National Congress (ANC), which the United States designated as a terrorist organization during the 1980s. If the Patriot Act had been in effect at the time, any U.S. citizen who communicated with the ANC while organizing opposition to South Africa’s racist system would have been eligible for a lengthy prison term. Now, it's the ruling party in today’s post-apartheid South Africa. The ANC isn’t the only example. In the early 1990s, Robert Gelbard, Bill Clinton's special envoy to the Balkans, described the Kosovo Liberation Army as, “without any questions, a terrorist group.” As journalist Michael Moran noted, by the end of the decade, “the United States had embraced the KLA's cause,” and, “after the war, the KLA was transformed into the Kosovo Protection Corps, which now works alongside NATO forces patrolling the province.” An American may have sided with the Serbs or with the KLA, but if the Patriot Act had been in effect, engaging the latter would have constituted a serious crime. Other groups once designated as terrorist organizations that have either laid down their arms or joined the political process include the Irish Republican Army and the Palestine Liberation Organization. At the same time, some organizations that commit terrible crimes against civilians never make the list because their goals dovetail with our own. Sometimes we even support them. During the 1980s, the Nicaraguan contras were known to torture, rape and kill innocent civilians sympathetic to the Sandinistas, but Ronald Reagan praised the group as heroic “freedom fighters.” In Iran, the Mujahedin-e Kalq (MEK) is universally condemned as a terrorist organization, and the United States government has listed it as one. But that didn’t stop former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo from saying, “We should be aiding them, instead of restricting their activities. We can use the MEK; they are in fact warriors. Where we need to use that kind of force, we can use them.” It’s worth noting that Islamic groups lead the list of designated terrorist organizations, followed by communists and nationalists. Groups like the Gush Emunim Underground — a radical Israeli settler group that was responsible for a series of attacks against Palestinian civilians — don’t make the cut. It’s a clear signal that the State Department’s list is highly politicized. added by: Omnomynous
